Good point. Might be he's also just seeing something with clarity of thought for the first time in his life. I always assumed the madness/corruption kain suffered from nupraptor was tied into his arrogance and brutality. Now that he's been healed it may be a different perspective when facing an opponent
@@DumahsAssassin On top of that you can see and hear regret in his voice as he finally sees the Elder god and asks if this was the nightmare that he condemned Raziel to when he threw him into the abyss which made me respect him even more for feeling bad about what he put Raziel through.
Moebius’ spirit sitting up with a pissed off Raziel behind him still continues to be the funniest thing. Raziel has been waiting for this moment since Soul Reaver 2.
I suppose it's sort of poetic that the last soul that Raziel devours is Moebius'. Also...Kain says "We" when talking to the Elder God right before the final battle, of course, referring to Raziel. "I am now, as before, your right hand. Your sword.". There is much meaning to what Raziel said.
"Your words are heartening... for you would not fear us unless we could truly *do you harm.* " Kain was such a badass, lol. Love this series. So many awesome moments and quotes live on in my memory. Not many game series even come close to the spectacle of Legacy of Kain.
What I've always loved about this line specifically is that Kains use if "us" and "we" Kain is talking about how at that time what the elder god fears isn't just Kain but Kain and Raziel now as one
It ends on a hopeful note, not a despairing one. Kain can make amends and fix past mistakes and perhaps even save Nosgoth once and for all next time round...
With the voice actor for the elder god dead (rest in peace, Tony Jay), and with all the lead writers having moved far away from the franchise, and with basically every entry in the franchise being in some form of legal limbo, and considering that this is not an awful cliffhanger to end on, with it being a very fitting end to Raziel’s story, I think it’s best if the series just gets laid to rest. No, we’ll never know if Kain truly succeeds, and there are some major plot holes left unaddressed, but why risk an inferior follow-up, when this is such a good ending?
I used to think that the LoK games had the juice to be made into a really excellent live action TV show, but after Halo and Witcher and every other Netflix shitshow made by people who openly state they hate the games they're adapting, you're probably right in thinking the whole thing should be left alone. That, and Simon Templeman is in his 70s now, and anybody else playing Kain would be like tits on a fish.
I can't tell if Kain teleporting at the end (thus demonstrating that the Elder God's threat to bury him "alive" for eternity was completely empty because he would be able to get away easily) was intended to prove that the threats were empty (and thus that the Elder God was panicking and blustering once its plans were derailed,) or if the writers simply forgot/hoped we would forget that Kain would be able to get out from under the rubble.
At best, I'd assume his teleportation ability is line of sight only. At worst, its just the False God in a panicked and pissed off bluster fueled by rage.
@@kayserliaan the lines are too choppy, she uses inferences that are obvious to the listener. This writing is basic anime anti hero speech. The "you have nothing I want" is a give away. Kain doesn't talk like a gangster, except in this game.

Knowing what we do at the end about Kain it totally recontextualizes a lot of things. Like Kain turning away when he has Raziel cast into the abyss. When you play SR1 it seems like it’s because he’s both literally and figuratively turning his back on him. The scene where Raziel sacrifices himself almost makes it seem like he just couldn’t watch it happen. It was something he felt he HAD to do but legitimately didn’t want to. Or maybe Kain just changes throughout the series. Who knows?
It's a minor complaint. But they messed up the texture on Kain. Immediately following the fight, they used the texture that still had his scar. In the last scene, they used the correct texture where it was healed.
That's because Hermaous Mora was clearly inspired by EGs design. In Daggerfall and Oblivion, he looks a lot more fat and clawed, and a lot less Tentacled and Eyeballed.
