Hello everyone,
this is the FULL BUILD video of my 1:48 scale Sikorsky UH-34G build from Italeri. This helicopter was part of MFG 5 (Marinefliegergeschwader 5) stationed in Kiel-Holtenau and took part in several SAR-Missions during the 1973 flood on the german coast.
The same helicopter with the S/N 80+73 is part of the exhibition of the Deutsche Museum in Schleißheim near Munich. Check it out, if you're nearby.

Dein H-34 ist spitze, insbesondere die Detaillierung mit den Fotoätzteilen und das Farbschema finde ich sehr, sehr cool. Du hast überhaupt eine interessante Modellauswahl ... kannst du uns schon einen Tipp geben, was du als nächstes planst/baust? 😉 Vielleicht sollte ich auch endlich mal 1:48 bauen, da geht schon einiges mehr als bei den kleineren Maßstäben. 🤔 Viele Grüße! 🙂
Ganz herzlichen Dank für dein Lob, Oliver. Jepp, ich mag den H-34 auch sehr. Es gab in den 80er diese TV-Serie 'Trio mit vier Fäusten' (engl. Originaltitel: "Riptide"), die ich noch aus meiner Kindheit kenne. Da gab es eine pinke S-58 mit aufgemaltem Gesicht. Zwar eine andere Version der S-58, aber egal. Seitdem mag ich den Hubschrauber sehr und wollte auch schon immer einen bauen. Dazu gefiel mir das SAR-Farbschema der Bundesmarine sehr gut. Alles in allem, mal abgesehen von meinen üblichen Fehlern, ein wirklich gutes Modell. Ohne PE-Parts aber definitiv weniger interessant für mich. Die machen schon viel aus.
Als nächstes gibt's wieder einen Jet. Amerikanisch. Sonderlackierung! Mehr verrate ich noch nicht. Das erste Video dazu erscheint in etwa vier Wochen. 🤫
Ich habe, bevor ich 1/48 gebaut habe, auch ausschließlich 1/72 gebaut. War mehr so ein Platz Ding. Bin aber auf 1/48 gewechselt, weil die Detaillierung oft um einiges besser ist und mMn der Aftermarket größer ist. Da geht wirklich mehr.

Trio mit vier Fäusten ist mir natürlich ein Begriff, hab's allerdings damals gar nicht geguckt. 🤦🏻♂️😄 Ich habe mittlerweile auch Gefallen an PE-Teilen gefunden und werde jetzt mehr davon verbauen. Freue mich schon auf dein nächstes Projekt und Video. Bei mir wird es mit dem nächsten Projekt etwas dauern, muss bald wieder zur Reha. Guten Rutsch und viele Grüße vom Niederrhein! 🙂
Your build video of this bird is amazing. Well done my friend. The music made me want to run naked with a space helmet on though.. Maybe change the music to something that doesn't want me to start sniffing glue.. But your kit building is amazing for sure..
😂😂😂 Hey Bradley, thank you very much for your comment. I highly appreciate it. I probably sniffed too much glue (and thinner!!!) during the build of the helo, because I really like the analog sound of the music. 😂😂😂 But I promise other music for my upcoming videos. I still haven't figured out which music is best for scale model videos in general. Any suggestions? Cheers, mate!

Excellent build - thank you for documenting your process! Helicopters from the 1950s-60s are just so iconic. I suggest looking at the Kaman H-43 Huskie, if you’re thinking about another helo challenge. 👍

@@TheModelorian das ja sehr schön, ich tue mich seid Wochen schwer den richtigen Kompressor zu finden fürs Airbrush. Was hast du denn für einen und welchen kannst du mir empfehlen? Ich wohne in einer Mietwohnungen daher sollte er echt Leise sein. Danke vorab ✌️
@marcelb.5853 Um ehrlich zu sein, habe ich den günstigsten, den es bei Amazon gab. 😂 Als ich 2018 wieder in das Hobby eingestiegen bin, wusste ich nicht, ob das Hobby noch was für mich ist und habe erst einmal den günstigsten genommen. Der tut es immer noch und bevor der nicht die Segel streicht, wird es wohl auch kein neuer!
Bzgl. Lautstärke: Das Ding ist leiser als man denkt. Die Kids schlafen in den Zimmern nebenan und kriegen nichts davon mit. Auch in dem Stockwerk darunter hört man nichts.

Beautiful and very skilful build Modelorian! Curious: what's the glue in the bottle with the little brush inside the green cap?
Hello Geert, thank you very much for your kind comment. I appreciate it, The glue is Tamiya Extra Thin Cement. It's the best cement out there for scale modeling in my opinion. It evaporates very fast and has a really strong bond. Cheers!
