I ordered the set and am excited to receive it. As a chocolate girl, I really appreciated the variety of swatchers she had because it really showcased the versatility of appearance due to the different skin tones. Once I found out this wouldn't be hard to remove, like glitters, and saw comparisons of the older similar shades to the new shades, I was sold. I really think I want to get the China Glaze coffee set as well. I know it wasn't a favorite, but it seems like a great base for the Holo collection.

Cristine starting holo taco was the gateway for me - after that first release I found your review and then I needed allllll the indie brands. 😂 I think it was during 2020 that my nail polish game truly picked up due to all that isolation time.
my gateway to polish was nail art. i was a major wolfbiter, it was getting embarrassing and grosser, so as a teenager, i tried so much to get myself to stop. it was nail art that worked--flags of the world on each nail that did me in specifically bc i needed a lot of specific cream colors to complete the looks, and in the early 00s it was still hard to find certain colors of cream polish in the drug store, so it was constant quest that became a hobby for me :D i love hearing nail art origin stories, so thanks for sharing! :)
I love this formula. I would love a berry purple color (like your top!) or a deep emerald green in this finish. It reminds me of velvet, especially when mattified!
complimets to the matching eyeshadow, that's a really cute detail! and i think it would be cool if you tried water marbeling in one of the next videos!! something different to mix it up
I bought this collection as soon as it came out! I was already buying the dark rainbow holo collection (that I'd had my eye on for so long) and then I saw this brand new barista bundle and just impulsively bought them all. I'm definitely glad I did, they are such beautiful shades and I look forward to doing a skittle mani with them (very original of me)
Love the crushed holo and I like the spread of colors and mix of undertones. There’s really something that will suit everyone! I hope she does more with this finish because I’m obsessed. I really loved Highest Bidder with Reflective Taco as a topper so I’m curious to see if that compliments these as well!
They definitely do! I love layering reflective Taco too and I did a skittle mani with this collection and topped with reflectiveTaco. I can't stop looking at them 🤗
I bought this collection without even seeing swatches on release.. been collecting HT since release. When I got them though? Instant love. My favorite out of all of them is Blushed Ice, but they skittle mani SO WELL. This is probably one of my favorite formulas from Cristine.. it applied so well and cleaned up so well as well. STRONG recommend!
Ironically, my gateway into nail stuff was Cristine. I found her TH-cam channel and it just went from there even though I started on a really silly video. This was long before her brand and I eventually bought some indie polishes from a website she was sponsored by. Oh, and because of her I remember being really excited to get my first bottle of Color Club back when it wasn't sold in stores in the states!
Even though I had been painting my nails since I was in 4th grade with drugstore or Avon polishes, what really started the addiction was Zoya Charla. My salon was stocking Zoya at the time and I picked it up on a whim after getting my hair done. The formula plus all the compliments on the color and now I have 70 Zoya polishes and 300 total. For nail art it was stamping. I don't even remember where/how I discovered it, I am assuming Instagram. But my favorite type of nail art is stamping.
I love the crushed holo! It is so sparkly and pretty! My gateway was the pandemic. As a nurse, I am not usually allowed to wear nail polish. But about 1 year before the pandemic, I got a job that allowed me to wear nail polish again. I did not really get into polish or nail art until the pandemic. I searched YT for nail art and yours was the first one to pop up! Started watching you, and then got into more types of nail polish and nail art stamping as well. But like you and water marbling, I have not done stamping in a while and now I am super intimidated😅. My patients also love my nails. it makes me feel good to give myself a manicure and have pretty nails. So thank you YT for bringing Kelli into my life!💜💜

i have to say i wasn't a fan of this particular formula during the anniversary collection last year, but now i'm thinking that i was just so much more in love with the rest of the polishes that came out with it because this new collection is just so great. i just got my polishes today and decided to try out holo cappuccino first and it's perfect.
I was waiting for your review before adding anything to my February wishlist because you’re one of the few swatchers who don’t swatch in sunlight or direct artificial lights. I feel like I can see the most true-to-life sparkle level of polishes in your videos. You’re also one of the few swatchers who apply 1-2 coats for most polishes instead of 3, which is most similar to me-I also love a slightly visible free edge line. These have a jelly base so the color deepens the more you apply; hence I really value seeing the 2 coat application. It’s interesting to see how the colors appear on your skintone, especially Oat Couture! I am also warm-toned but I do prefer to stick with shades that match my warm peachy undertone, mainly with beiges and pinks. I’ve been tossing up between the 2 lightest shades. Your video makes me lean towards Blushed Ice, but I still can’t say for sure lol. I might need to use an online color mixer to check how it’d appear on me. 😂
Your reviews are always so good! I am wearing this collection right now and you’re right it looks pretty different person to person! My gateway polish was definitely the Holo Taco Lite Mode collection, Encryption Key if I had to pick one. I had been painting my nails for years but it was just kinda a thing I did, Holo Taco really lit the fire!!
The bundle arrived yesterday, already in love ❤️ currently wearing oat couture and holo cappuccino. I think the lighter shades would be a great intro for HT newbies
OPI Germany Collection sent me down the nail polish rabbit hole. I hadn’t been aware that OPI did collections at that point. I had a few polishes at that time, but that collection really grabbed my attention. I loved all the polishes, many of the colors were so unique. That got me into buying OPI collections. It’s been 10 years?!? Holy cow.
My gateway polishes were a pair of Sally Hansen and OPI polishes that I got on clearance at my grocery store as a freshman in college. The Sally Hansen was a pearlescent shade from their Diamond collection that I still have and the OPI was a glitter polish. At the time, Sally Hansen, OPI, and Essie were the "fancy" nail polishes, so I thought it was a steal that I found a couple that were about $1 each.
Always enjoy your videos and this one was no exception. Love how you describe the formula and how shades can look different on skin tones. Always appreciate your thoughts and all the work that goes into this incredibly well produced videos ❤️ cheers!
Crushed holo…WOW! So gorgeous! The colors are so beautiful. I love the graduated color story, too. What a great skittle these will make! Great job, Holo Taco! 🤎
I have bought nail polish off and on over the years. It would be like 1 or 2 a year of whatever drug store brand usually covergirl or essie polish of something bright and colorful to wear throughout the summer. I didn't know how to paint my fingernails properly so that it would not look messy and stick around, so I'd do my toes throughout the summer. Another youtuber was showing Holo Taco's first collection when it came out. I was intrigued, so I made my way over to simplynailogical's channel. Lo and behold, I learned about holo, using a proper base coat, and quick drying top coat. Holo Taco truly was my gateway. I stumbled on your channel when I was trying to learn how to paint my fingernails properly so I could enjoy polish looking at the polish on my hands rather than just my feet.
Thank you for the review Kelli! My order just arrived today all the way in the UK which I was so excited by! Its good your video came up when it did! It's delaying me hopefully long enough to let the polish warm up before I give in and swatch it all 🤣 I love the colour story of these so I'm excited to have the whole collection!
My gateway nail polish was wet n wild polish back in the 90s, I had a bottle of black and a bottle of a royal blue shimmer. I wasn't a particularly morally upright teen at the time, I had shoplifted the 2 bottles from a pharmacy in a town that was about 45 minutes from where I lived while with friends. Not one of my better moments for sure, but that was when my love for non-mainstream nail colors started. In the last few months I've gotten back into painting my nails again after a long hiatus due to either working in the food industry and/or caring for my young children (both are now in their teens) and I'm still drawn to the blacks, blues, purples and silvers that dominated my collection back then. I'm glad that there are so many more options and better quality options to choose from now and wishing I had discovered the wonderful properties of quick dry topcoat back then as I lost many hours waiting for my polish to dry and always ended up chipping it fairly quickly anyways. My favorite polish was a color called platinum, can't remember the brand, that was a silver shimmer base with a lilac to gold duochrome shift. I would wear it alone or layered over dark colors to make them more "work friendly" and even wore it for my wedding as it was a beautiful shade that was both alternative and classy. China glaze bloomphoria reminds me of that polish.
My gateway was OPI Charged Up Cherry and Finger Paint He-Art Auction. I still have those bottles even though I probably haven’t worn either in well over a decade. Too sentimental to get rid of. I was a nail biter while growing up and nail polish was something I always wanted to wear but never could. Nail polish gave me a reason to stop biting and then helped to remind me not to bite when I was finally able to start painting them. I’ve been down the rabbit hole ever since!!
I had seen Cristine's holo content and how interested she was in it. I'd already done lots of nail polish on my own, had tried gel myself pretty successfully, etc. But the first time I put INM's Northern Lights on my nails was magical. Lol I spent so much time showing people the rainbows in my nails. It was the first pure holo glitter polish I owned, and it started me down the road of indie polishes.
I opted not to buy these when they were released since they are not limited edition and Holo Taco can be so hit or miss on the description vs what you get. Really nice to see swatches and descriptions from you.
Honestly I think that Hard Candy was my gateway polish. Those cute rubbery/plasticy rings had me sold! I remember owning a purple. I still have a few of my other earlier bottles like a cooler light grape Cover Girl one and a dark blue with silver glitters that reminded me of stars. 🍇 🌌 💖
My gateway nail polish was Holo Taco and it was because I found one of your videos review it when I started looking up nail polish techniques. I forgot what I looked up but you reviewed the unicorn skin collection and I been watching your videos ever since. You and the Maniology community has grown my collection with varies indie and main stream brands
I want you to know, I adore your information so much as a nail technician and salon owner! I had to look you up and find this to use your link and make sure you got credit! Because I am buying this collection today for my salon❣️. Bring the fall colors baby😍
My gateway nail polish was Barry M's Vivid Purple, now sadly discontinued. I'd had other nail polishes before, but that was the one that got me obsessed. My mum gave it to me as a Christmas present when I was 15, and it was such a pretty dark purple it made my little Goth heart happy! It was a very pretty dark purple shimmer, I miss it! 🥺
I bought all of them, and seeing this video makes me certain I didn't make a mistake. I can't wait to try them out. The effect I've seen online seems to almost look reflective and like the magnetic aura effect, together with holographic, it's wild. I've also really been longing for more neutrals from Holo Taco, so I am so glad they're finally trying it out.
Ok, I'm going to show my age here, but what the heck! In high school I had a friend with beautiful nails and in the Spring/Summer she wore pinks and light shades of purple, red, etc. In Fall/Winter deep wine and brown shades. I bought my first bottle of Cutex nail polish in this bright purple. It looked hideous, but I loved it! I'm still not as cool as my friend was, but my love for nail polish has been there since I was 15! Your videos have kept that love alive. I love your videos!
So helpful to see this collection on your warmer undertone! I’m also super fair warm leaning and find the lighter holo taco shades can kind of skew very different on me. I like the direction the lighter colors lean on you and I’m not surprised they actually show darker! Might have to snag them when they’re back in stock!
I bought this collection because I'm obsessed with coffee haha (and also the colours are gorgeous) My gateway nail polish was this polish my mom had when I was a kid. It was "sally hansen chrome nail makeup" I think the colour was called "pink rose chrome" or something. I loved it so much and painted my nails with it whenever my mom let me. In highschool I got into nail art (but it was the 2010s and I lived on a farm with no computer so I was winging the whole thing) and then I became a fan of simplynailogical after I graduated and moved to town and it all went down hill from there 😅
Yaaaaassss!! I couldn’t wait for your review of these. I was wondering how they would look on me bc I too am warm Olive toned. They all look so lovely. I’ll probably purchase the whole collection
I hope they come out with more colours in this finish as brown isn’t really my fav but I love the holo finish. I am hoping for maybe a neon rainbow collection in this finish ❤
I got my collection delivered yesterday and sat down to watch your video while the polishes warmed up (cause I live in Winter's Armpit and they were frosty cold LOL). I have to say this is my favorite Holo Taco Collection! I did a skittle (gotta love 5 polish collections lol) and they are breathtaking! The crushed holo formula is stunning and so easy to work with. I am seriously in love with all 5 polishes - the lighter colors pull more neutral/cool on me so they pull more beige with hints of pink/blush. One of the best coffee collections I have seen in a long time.
I really loved a lot of the coffee shades this year but I'm partial to the darker shimmer, Holo, Metallic, and Jelly Fleck types my skin is pale. I'm not sure about the first 3 but the last 2 I really like.
Thank you for doing these swatches. You do such a great job describing the polishes . I bought 3 of these which I usually don’t wear a lot of browns, but going to try these . Thanks again for doing this, I like to wait until you review before I buy!
Can't wait for mine to get here. There's been a lot of coffee collections recently, but this is the only one I've actually ordered. Blue bird lacquer opened my eyes to shattered holos and I've LOVED them, so I'm very excited for these.
My first gateway into Nailpolish was the brand Kiko, since they were the first brand I encountered, that did a nice variety of colours and not just reds and nudes. Then I stopped for a while but came back to the hobby during the Pandemic through Holo Taco and their fun sparkly holo polishes
I agree with what you said about not needing to match your nail polish to your skin's undertone. For clothing (especially tops) that will be near my face, that is way more important to me to match my undertones. Or for makeup colors. But my hands are far away from my face and I wear nail colors that I would never wear in eyeshadow or lipstick.
Omg I can’t believe you are just starting Star Wars! I was always hesitant until my husband asked if we could watch it over my maternity leave. I was hooked! So good.
I really love this formula, and hope they do a lot more. First mani I did with it was a skittle, and the next was comparing all the HT non-crème browns (plus one ILNP dark brown). Love! My gateway polish was electric blue, and I was probably 9. I bit my nails for years and stopped wearing polish. But then I tried using polish as a way of not biting them. I have several hundred polishes of varying brands, but my favorite are Holo Taco and ILNP.
my gateway polish was Essie’s For The Twill Of It, which has a duochrome. i was getting back into painting my nails as part of some self-care, and bought it at CVS or Walgreens because it just looked so different. it taught me the word “duochrome” which brought me to “multichrome” which brought me to ILNP for my first indie purchase, and it’s all been down a rabbit hole since. my newest rabbit hole is making my own polishes, specifically thermals, after looking for pigment to restore a dead bottle.
In my early teen years I wore polish, but mainly only pearlescent white or light pink, from either Loreal, Maybelline or Max Faxtor. Then one day I was at a mall and saw an OPI display, and purchased Designer de Better, and that got my eyes open for how many exiting brands and finishes there is to explore ❤ now I mainly buy ILNP, Picture Polish and still some OPI, Zoya, Cirque and other brands too, if I see something special, a color or a finish, that I don’t have - or of course any great purple, metallic or light nude 🙈
Holo Taco is MY gateway brand as I have only more seriously got into nails since the brand began. I LOVE this range, I love everything Coffee flavored and love coffee...I got the Barry M (UK brand) coffee cremes a few months back and they are my first love, they are cheap and you get them in the supermarket so they will always be fond memories of a little 'pick me up' because they are about 3-4 GBP and if I feel down I am like coffee, magazine, nail polish, chocolate bar! But I am trying to hold off on these so I can do a big order for my birthday in April!
Perfect swatches as always! I wasn’t blown away with this finish in the Gala Collection’s Highest Bidder - the holo felt subdued a bit in the base. But WOW was I blown away by how sparkly these shades were when searching. Espresso Your Holo and Oat Couture are ~chef’s kiss~.
I immediately thought of you when this collection was announced. I thought the range of colors was more what you were looking for from a coffee inspired collection. I'm also always excited for a sparkly or holo polish that isn't difficult to remove. I love how the Holo Taco glitter polishes look, but they're a pain to remove. I also absolutely love their linear holo formula so I'm excited for more finishes with a similar formula. As for me, my "gateway" polish would be Starrily Eclipse. It was maybe 6 or 7 years ago at this point that I somehow stumbled upon this topcoat that turned any cream polish into a holo polish. As someone who owned maybe 7 cream polishes from my teens/twenties, I was SOLD! Thus started the rabbit hole of seeing just how much I loved holo and discovering indy brands and now I have a much larger collection than I anticipated.... Oops!
My gateway to Holo Taco was your 6 ways to gradient video, had to buy the red, orange and yellow from the rainbow collection and try it. I now own all the Holo Taco polishes ! Loving this latest collection, received mine yesterday
My gateway polish was metallic blue. I don't remember the brand, but the color looked a lot like Essie,'s Aruba Blue, the other polish was from Elizabeh Arden, the color was like an oil slick, I remember seeing in in the window display in a closed store when I was on vacation in Iceland in 1999. I got obsessed, could not find the polish when I got home to Norway and went on a long hunt before I found it and paid a steep price for it. It was stunning, and I have never seen an oil slick polish like it ever again
my gateway polish was loreal bronze coin. such a beautiful color, people would stop me to ask were my nails real and what polish was that whenever I wore it :)
I got my order soooo super fast. I ordered on release day and got my polish on Saturday. I immediately put on Need I say Mocha, and I am still wearing it. I love these colors. And I love the formula more than I thought,. #Fab.
I would love to see this collection with the Linear Holo Taco on top! Any chance you could make that happen? My faves are the 3 lightest shades. I already have Burnt Bridges.
I love all of these! I’ve always wondered as cool toned, if I should only wear cool tones… lol. So I’ll need to play around a bit with more colors. My gateway originally was probably OPI, but in the last couple years ILNP really got me interested in more sparkly fun polishes - which has led me to Holo Taco, Bees Knees, and many others.
I usually don't jump on her releases right away but I had to on this one. I have all of them on right now and love them. I see the rainbows still in a bright light or sun light. I really do love this "new" finish. I also prefer a scattered holo as well.
I think there's just something about coffee inspired collections that makes me so excited lol. The perfect mix of elegant nudes and (usually) exciting finishes to add a little extra oomph!
@@KelliMarissa I really couldn't agree more. Funny how years ago I wouldn't even look at browns and now i love them. Such cozy colors and who doesn't love to be cozy? lol
Waiting for mine to come in! I love Holo Taco, and was telling the hubby I wanted a cream color with holo in it to come out, and next day, there she was, so I placed my order!
Frost Light and Party Punch by Holo Taco! I did not even follow Simply at the time, but the HT release came up on TH-cam right before the first release and got me hooked! I wanted Play Rose at first but they were out so I tried the other two instead and am so glad I did
I need to get more browns and tans in my collection. I've gone back and forth with nail polish over the years. I think I really started buying different kinds when I was about 23. I am 40 now. My collection isn't huge but it is fun! All the colors just make me happy and I love seeing them. I really wish I was better at stamping. It just ends up taking me forever to get it right. It drives me nuts. 🤣
Basically Cristine explained it like this~ linear holo is extremely small holo flecks that create the lines or rainbow, scattered holos are all hex glitters in 3 different sizes, and this crushed holo is very small holo flecks that are super packed :) Just in case anyone was curious exactly what it is♡
They go quite pink on you. That's interesting. How do the holo flakies in these compare to the ILNP Manhattan collection polishes? It seems like they would be similar. I'm on the fence about these but I do love the way the INLP ones sparkle in shade and throw sort of loose rainbows in the sun.
Can you do a video of what nail polish removers you typically use? I recently started using Mineral Fusion and really like it. Could you also do a video comparing nail wraps (ColorStreet, Lily & Fox, etc)?
Just made my day. New video!! I am definitely getting these. So so so getting them. Just to add your eye makeup is gorgeous. What are you wearing? It's stunning.
Ohh, no pressure, but it would be fun to see how you'd approach water marbling. I've always been too intimidated to try, I did get a good decal going one time (when I tried on a mat) and got excited, only to feel like it never looked like I wanted when I went for a full manicure!
Such a fun video! Love thinking about the gateway. My gateway was when I was in middle school and browny/mauvey colors were huge. But I saw Essie’s Raisinnuts and it was more red which felt like a fun shift. It was all over from there…
I ordered the set and am excited to receive it. That was one of the first collections I bought haha! It was so special!
It is a steal! Nice 😊 I think they’re still fancy , because in my country they cost more than holo taco 😮
Love the scattered holo look. Can't wait for more colors 😍
Me too!!
I've been obsessing over this collection for the past few days and now I REALLY need it! Especially the two darkest shades.
They're so pretty!!
@@KelliMarissa Yes they are!
i’m currently wearing these in a skittle mani and i’m obsessed
me too! so stunning, can't stop looking at my nails haha
Oh yeah that's a great gateway into special finishes haha!
I opted not to buy these when they were released since they are not limited edition and Holo Taco can be so hit or miss on the description vs what you get. Really nice to see swatches and descriptions from you.
Thank you for mentioning the China Glaze and Painted Polish collections. I was thinking of them!!
I love all these colors! I do think we need a tea collection from someone soon! Tea can be such beautiful colors! 😊 🍵 ☕
Yes! I know Holo Taco did a tea collection, but I want a sparkly tea themed collection!
I have been waiting for you to review this as we have similar nails and skin tones. Thank you!
My gateway polish was Color Club Miss Bliss. Loving the lip colors this year, so glad you decided to try more! 🥰
Beautiful colors 💖🤎 i love this collection
I love the mocha one on you! I got all of them but that one, this may have changed my mind though. Excited to get mine tomorrow!!!
Can't wait for mine to get here. There's been a lot of coffee collections recently, but this is the only one I've actually ordered. Blue bird lacquer opened my eyes to shattered holos and I've LOVED them, so I'm very excited for these.
These look so beautiful! They’re sold out right now. I’m hoping to get them when/if restocked. They look awesome
My first gateway into Nailpolish was the brand Kiko, since they were the first brand I encountered, that did a nice variety of colours and not just reds and nudes. Then I stopped for a while but came back to the hobby during the Pandemic through Holo Taco and their fun sparkly holo polishes
Love your outfit and makeup today!! Very pretty!!
Loved the darkest polish! Your make up is gorgeous in this video!🔥
Thank you so much!!☺️☺️
I agree with what you said about not needing to match your nail polish to your skin's undertone. For clothing (especially tops) that will be near my face, that is way more important to me to match my undertones. Or for makeup colors. But my hands are far away from my face and I wear nail colors that I would never wear in eyeshadow or lipstick.
I only ordered oat couture and espresso your Holo but looking forward to them even more now
Yes! The review I was waiting for! Mine will arrive on Friday and I can’t wait ❤😊
Omg I can’t believe you are just starting Star Wars! I was always hesitant until my husband asked if we could watch it over my maternity leave. I was hooked! So good.
I’m so happy you swatched this collection! I just got mine yesterday yesterday and they are stunning. I love the crushed holo formula
It really is great!!
Holo Taco! Yessssss! 🩵 Holo Cappuccino is 🔥
I really love this formula, and hope they do a lot more.
Caccio did a chocolate collection awhile ago, this adds Holo, yummy. The mocha and expresso look devine.
That was a chocolate inspired collection! One of my favorites :)
Love that you are always wearing different lippie Kelli 😊
#Fab.
Oat Couture is my fave and Blushed Ice is a close second!!☕️🤎
I love coffee, the coffee scrub is fantastic, and these polishes are beautiful, the holo effect is stunning in these nude brown shades☕
I’d love to see this formula compared to the cirque colors facets collection
Holo cappuccino and Espresso your holo are my favourites! I'm not biggest fan of brown nail polishes but some shades are nice!
Basically Cristine explained it like this~ linear holo is extremely small holo flecks that create the lines or rainbow, scattered holos are all hex glitters in 3 different sizes, and this crushed holo is very small holo flecks that are super packed :)
Just in case anyone was curious exactly what it is♡
They go quite pink on you. That's interesting. How do the holo flakies in these compare to the ILNP Manhattan collection polishes? It seems like they would be similar. I'm on the fence about these but I do love the way the INLP ones sparkle in shade and throw sort of loose rainbows in the sun.
I just adore you! I watch all your videos and you have made me truly love and enjoy playing with nail polish 😊 I can’t wait for your next video too ❤
Mine are on the way. I'm so excited!
Very beautiful polishes.
Mine come tomorrow, im so excited for this collection! I ordered a coffee themed stamp plate from maniology, so might try to do some stamping too.
I love this collection. I love brown polish and will be here tomorrow
