    Sounds great. That’s the most beautiful bike bmw has ever produced

    I have a 2006 r,1200s.not ohlins or wider rear tyre.its black with 20k miles.ive had lots of bikes including hyabusa gen2 and zx6r.i really enjoy riding the r1200.its a great bike🇬🇧👑🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿✝️

      Less wheezy and a bit deeper note at idle, quite a bit more bark at speed!

    Do any aftermarket exhausts have a converter? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose?

    Is it worth all that money for that sound? Taking the cat out helps performance, but you may have to read map it. I don’t think it’s worth spending that much money, especially just for sound.

      Andy McWilliams - I agree in many ways. The rest of the story is that I had converted this bike as a dedicated track bike. It had modified cam timing, free flow air filter, these pipes and dyno tuning with an aftermarket fuel injection controller and fibreglass race fairings. It was a decent race bike. But the argument you’re making can be said for any modification on any vehicle. They work fine as they come from the factory. Modifications like this are worth it to set them apart.

      Not even as an option, not even on the HP2 Sport. There was an Ohlins shock absorber option for the R1200s which the HP2 sport came with as standard, along with a nifty quick-shifter.

      I also had a small worry about the bike potentially running too lean with only the stock motronic. I solved this by installing a Power Commander and having it tuned on a dyno. This meant removing the lamda sensors as well though.

    Hi, will you recommend this bike for tall rider im 285cm high is about 6.1foot. Im riding now Yamaha xsr700 very comfortable position i use it mostly go around city , fir work sometimes for longer trip 3 ,4 hours max. Regards

      Monkey Shed I’m 6.0 feet, the 1200S wasn’t cramped for me, and I knew a guy 6.3 that rode one okay but I think other bikes would be more comfortable.

    what rear rim size and tire size do you ride?

      bighitjumper My bike came with the 6 inch wide rear rim and as you know, supposed to use a 180 55 zr17. For my last few track sessions i couldn’t get that size in a sticky Pirelli slick so I fitted a 190 50 zr17. It worked great! Cleared the swing arm okay.

      @@madebyjnd ok; in germany we are supposed to use 180 55 or 180 60 (sometimes 190 50) on 5.5" rims and 190 55 on 6.0" rims. In this video your rear tire looks nicely domed! And there was 190 50 mounted? beautiful bike btw. i like black and silver the most.

      @@bighitjumper I have to admit that my memory is poor. I sold that bike two years ago and couldn't remember what tyre size it was supposed to use. For sure I had the 6.0 inch rim and I had to use the next size up for the slick which would must have been a 200 45. The tyre shown on the video however is the recommended size for the 6.0 inch rim. I can't remember if it was Pirelli, Bridgestone or Dunlop. I hope I haven't been too confusing.

      I’d ordered it on line from flea bay, wasn’t hard to find (there were several vendors) and not very expensive but it was made specifically for the BMW R1200 family. It was a decade ago though.

    look at the gap off the pipe wich goes to the mufflers looks crappy the orginal lays smooth on frame so orginal much nicer as the sound of the original
    so sorry waste of money as labour the orginal had all no reason to rip it apart

      More than looks was involved, it added 15 hp as proven by a dyno test. At wide open throttle and above 4500 rpm the sound is glorious, much better than original. The sales blurb did say “track use only”.

      Made by J&D horsepower was already enough with 122 so in your age and im usa what use do you have of it????i doubt that you have the benefit at an speed limit of 55 miles of 15 hp extra.....the ZARD exhaust on other hand let it sound better.so nice motorcycle wich i think sn normal chap like us in the Fifties can not use in extreme with 122 horses or 137.so.maybe it goes now from an lower gear an little better untill youreach 55miles....hmmmm or are you always on race track in extremes?i have the f800s because this is to expensive and this has 86 hp wich for me riding 100miles speed most time is more i need.i had its forerunner r1100s with 100hp and it was fast enough.so more hp even if it would go completly in acclerations in lower gears....for what...i ride no dragster.i would have spent the money in some decoration to break up the dull silver.carbon panels on tank flanks such thing.any as he likes.in last hand its an lovely motorcycle alas if you want an good one here you pay around 10000bucks.cheers

      Made by J&D air filter and power commander does the trick! I always use K&N.

      I agree. I ride fast. I’d wobble and fall over if I rode 55. But I still think this is a waste of money for what power you get here. I’d just go with a power commander download and a K&N air filter.
