0:43 in some ways sounds like a precursor to some Mario galaxy music, how it swells up into a grand release like that really reminds me of a lot of galaxy music, neat really
@@muuid1sk I hadn’t really thought of this as ‘wet’ but you’re probably right, that’s a good description- I’m also a fan of wet 303 squishy sounds so it makes sense

I actually did deconstructed this with foobar like 5 days ago and it sounds beautiful. And now i get notification and it's rainbow road! Thanks for uploading it with oscilloscope 😁👏
Back in the day when I first heard this it always gave off mad huge sporting event vibes from the late '80s. Like an alternative NFL or Olympic games theme.
I had a feeling the main chorus was on multiple layers, but I wouldnt have imagined it was more than 3. Cool seeing it layed out in plain sight like this.
I am not even lying to anybody right now, but I felt the worst chest pain in my entire life the first 20 seconds of this video. I think I experienced a heart attack but I wasn’t having trouble breathing or moving, and my heart only felt like it had really strange palpitations. Maybe rainbow road is so good it caused it lol. Have a good night
Super Mario Kart's music honestly wasn't my favorite out of all the OSTs that the SNES had to offer with its many other games, but one of my favorite chracteristics of SNES music is still thankfully present and accounted for in Super Mario Kart: the multi-channel echo of many sounds. I love when SNES music has this echoing effect and its such an unmistakable signature of OSTs for many SNES games both 1st party and 3rd party alike.
who else thinks that Mario's Music Composers had an addiction for Power Snares in the early 90s?
Funny enough the snare in this game is the reverb snare in the Roland R-8
Who DOESN'T have an addiction for power snares?
@@Spin_Music Ooohh good to know. Love learning what sounds came from what instruments
@@Spin_Music And the same used in some SMW tracks...
Also somewhat interesting is that didn't use kicks at all here, apparently.
@@Spin_Music Yes. This is a simplified power drum sample used in the roland sound canvas series as well

i get where you’re coming from, though it is typically seen in orchestral pieces, which is no doubt what the piece was trying to replicate.
it kind of sounds like a certain song from rhythm heaven.
It reminds me more of some Ocarina of Time music

Something about lo-fi samples like this gives me shivers.
i thought i was the only one who felt shivers when i heard those parts, kinda glad there's someone else who felt like that and it feels great
Compressed SNES synth brass... Wet synth bass... Very compressed xylophone... Weird ass drums... Oh yes

Adding everything back at 3:09, at the end of a loop rather then the start of the next, was great. A powerful "Holy s**t, here we go!" moment.
The percussion part at 1:45 just holds everything together like you are in space but you remember that you are in a motorized vehicle running a race
Super Mario Kart has such a well-picked soundfont
I wish other games used a similar one. So much potential for incredible music.

It's the good old Roland TB-303, always jammin' some sick bass sounds.
