    Your voice sounds like an HVAC tech from another channel...either way you have good diagnostic skills. The best part for me was the repair completed side showing the signal voltage of 1.7. I believe I can diagnose my 0193 code better now thanks to your efforts. Thanks, man. Good job.

      For the 5volt reference u can use test light or 20ohm resistor to voltage load and if your 5volt remains it's a healthy 5v reference.

      using an incandescent or and L.E.D test lamp will give you the the same result. just be aware that the voltage that will will be dropped will be greater with the incandescent test light..
      Also note that there at 2 styles of signals out there with bias voltages.. one is voltage-- 12v or 5v monitored signal or a ground monitored signal.. you need to test in order to be certain which system you have..

    JL's, nice video. I subscribed :-) Hey, I'm ready to start up an '03 Mercury Marauder that I had the engine and lots of other items rebuilt/replaced on, including the fuel pump. I added a fuel pressure pod gauge that has a sender that sits right on top of the stock fuel rail pressure sensor (frps). Anyways, I'm not getting the pump to run unless I give it 12 volts from the battery. When I use the fuel pump driver module and the PCM , the pump won't run. I'm trouble shooting the frps and your video helped. I get 5V, 5V, and 12V on the three pins when the connector is disconnected...like you do. I get 5V, .5V and 12V when the key is on and a pin is stuck through the weather pack like you did (great trick!). Is this .5 in the right range for a completely depressurized system? Also, I guess I do not know if .5 volts would be for relatively high pressure or relatively low pressure...do you know? Thanks so much! :-)

    • @JLsAutoSolution
      @JLsAutoSolution  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you watching and the question.
      So i did a little research and found that at KOEO that the voltage should be roughly 0.2V. So that means that low voltage equals low pressure.
      Is 0.5V something to be worried about? Since your vehicle is not running I would say not at this time.. I would keep focus on getting the vehicle to run before going towards a FRPS Fault.
      I would check to make sure the inertia Switch is not open- this will cause no power to flow to the FPCM- it is located in the truck on the left support.
      Thanks for watching.

      it depends on which vehicle. there can be either 2 sensors. if there is a gdi system there always be one at the fuel rail(which is for the hp side) and another for the low pressure side. the circuit hi code is more likely due to wiring or a sensor.

    I noticed these newer engines that have a FRP sensor don't have a Schrader valve to test actual pressure. So why don't you explain in your diagnostic how much voltage is normal and how it's suppose to fluctuate depending on the actual pressure? You went straight to test if the wiring was shorted. Isn't the scanner suppose to tell you the voltage? Another thumb down 👎 test your fuel pressure first guys

    • @JLsAutoSolution
      @JLsAutoSolution  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree with what your saying... if this was a fuel pressure related issue which then the pcm would have set a code for fuel pressure low or high. Now since the dtc that was in the system was fuel pressure CIRCUIT high, there was no need to go towards the fuel pressure.
      the pcm was seeing a higher than wanted voltage on the signal line due to the sensor being stuck or open. and thats all i was showing in this video..
