One tip I would recommend is to put all of your skills with the most restrictive conditions (the ones with the red text that says the unit will not act otherwise) at the top of the list while putting the guaranteed conditions at the bottom of the list. Every time a unit takes their turn they are going to start with abilities at the top of the list and move its way down. This way whenever the unit takes their turn it'll go through everything it can do and avoid the situation of either standing there doing nothing or always using the first move on the list. I hope this helps someone! Overall great tips! Unicorn Overlord has become my favorite Vanillaware game!
I have to laugh. I just started playing this game and came across your videos. I’m so happy to not be the only, say “older person “ that plays video games. I’ve been a gamer since Pong came out lol.
6 treasure maps? I thought there are only 5 treasure maps in each nation. Now i wanna replay the game to see what those treasures i missed are! Edit: point #7 is kinda wrong. If you liberate the town/area those overworld encounters are tied to, you still get the honor points associated with them as they are auto eliminated. You can see the middle right part on the screen(i played this on switch) that you get honor points as they get auto eliminated.
This is perfect for me. I haven't watched the video yet, so I hope there's no spoilers. I bought the game about a month ago but haven't played it yet because I'm intimidated lol and I really hope I play it right.
Yes, can you do a video on your build. With strategy games your team makes all the difference, and I want to build a solid team to really enjoy this games 🙂
#7 when you complete the side mission or main missions in the area - the left over enemies disappear and u get Honor points as if you fought them in the open area
The end game team video would be interesting. I played through the game only once, but there seem to be endless possibilities. This might become my new comfort game.
Currently playing the game at the moment and am almost done with the main story. Just to add from my experience: 1) utilize your items - many of your items have similar effects as to valor whether you need to get a speed boost, taunt, post heal battles, and stat boosts. You can also be very tactical and defensive using temporary traps, setting up manlets, barricades to help turn the tide of battle 2) dont forget about relationships and rapport - While they do give you scenes to further lore and character development, characters in relationships get stat boots when in the same unit. You also get honor for viewing these cutscenes. You can build relationships by having characters in units, giving gifts (Alain only), and utilizing the tavern. 3) deliver provisions and free each town - you get a lot of $$$ and honor for delivering provisions. Its a great way to cut down on grinding for unit expansion and promotions. 4) Be sure to program your attacks effectively - Programming your characters based on the equipment and skills are important. You do not want to underutilized your unit's potential. One thing I would recommend is using archers to kill or CC casters in the back row 5) And lastly be sure to utilize shrines, Ballistas, catapults, etc... - its basically free EXP and is very effective in wittling down your opponent. Especially if you can utilize valor and items to make it more effective. One example is using barricades + gravity + bear traps I love the game and is a very fun podcast game. That said, I hope these tips help beginners as well!
How THE fUCK does Clayton have time to read as many books as he does, do this gaming channel, his news channel AND have like 3 kids. I want to know how he does this
I remember being super excited for the game but was disappointed when I played the demo. The combat just seemed like an auto sim. Maybe I didn’t give it enough time
I wish I would've known how awesome this game is. Fantastic game.

Thanks for the ranged attacks info. I didn’t realize that.
This is Game of the Year.
Thanks for making this! Just started playing.
Unicorn Overlord is a special game. Along with Shadow of the Erdtree, Metaphor, P3Reloaded and SMT Vengeance, it was an insane year for JRPGs.
oh thanks for making this I have the copy sitting on my desk as I type this!
Hope you enjoy it!

Killing it with these U.O. videos, Clayton 😊!
Wouldn't mind seeing that Endgame unit in depth 6:54

Clayton, I just wanted to wish you and your family a great 2025! God bless.
Same to you!
PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ON HOW YOU BUILT YOUR BATTLE UNIT!
Tip 11 is the best!
Also yes it would be nice to see your team you built for end game.
Thanks for the recommendations, I really enjoyed this game. Interesting tactical battle system, with an outrageous amount of characters to recruit.

Would be interested in seeing that team!

Been wanting this I’m gonna a pick it up pretty soon

Podcast game?
It is not a podcast game for me. Too much focus needed when it comes to numbers.

Time blocking.
Great video, and you may have persuaded me to playing this game.
I think one of the best tactics game ever made.
Oh ya, I was going to play this after Christmas but got caught up in Rivals. Only good thing with the name Marvel on it right now.
This game is on my backlog.
Awesome tips - Thank you !
You're so welcome!
Awesome video man thank you
I'm still trying to figure out if I like this game or not haha.
Can you do a full Nintendo switch collection before switch 2?
Play balatro!
Cousin is best girl

Turn up to max difficulty and you’ll have to plan carefully to win battles once you get to about Elheim and certainly later
The demo is only the tutorial part it gets more coplex later on in the game.
Yeah the demo really doesn’t do it justice.
Vanillaware refuses to release their games on PC, total bummer.
no offense to the content creator, good video but i always feel like these "10 things i wish i knew" videos always feel like common sense
Thanks! But I wouldn’t have made the video if it was common sense.
