    I just started using a bobber this weekend for the first time. I thought about doing the long sinker idea but decided against it in this particular spot because it was calm water and it drifted around pretty nicely from the boat. I woll have to rig up one for when there's a little more current though

      Keeping that live bait off the bottom is the best part of this rig! Give it a shot!

      @@jigginwithjake2796 haha well I did this weekend. No hits but we only had one fish anyway. I've really been liking my bottom float rigs lately. Been having a little my success on those than just straight on the bottom.

    Just use a small rubber band for a bobbler stop . Just wrap it around line pull tite trim it off . Easyier to adjust . And can put on line any time . Works way better

    You make the knot tieing look so easy. What kind and size of sinker did you use? Do you make those up ahead of time in case you lose one ? Great Video

    • @jigginwithjake2796
      @jigginwithjake2796  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I realized I didn’t share sinker size. I use a 2oz coin sinker for these. As far as pre-tied leaders. I do pre-tie the leader it’s self. But the down line for the sinker is tie on the fly. Those are quick though. Snell knots and surgeons knots are quick too. But having them ready in a bag saves some time if you lose one.

    I just use a one ounce egg sinker with a rubber sinker bumper on the main line just above the swivel. It keeps the Bluegill down and makes casting much easier. I also like the "Angry Cat" slip bobber in the 2 x 2 1/2 inch size and the Trokar style #TK03 Lancet Circle hook. It is a super setup.

    • @jigginwithjake2796

      The strings on the bobber stop? If that’s what you’re referring to, I cut those close to the knot and then there’s no tangles.

    • @jigginwithjake2796
      @jigginwithjake2796  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gotcha. I don’t typically have any issues with that. The swivel generally doesn’t allow any tangling. I do notice twisting when the rig is reeled in, but, that’s only because all the weight gets distributed to the end of the rig.
