- Fox 5's entertainment reporter, Kevin McCarthy (@KevinMcCarthyTV), geeked out with Hugh Jackman, Sir Patrick Stewart, James Mangold and Boyd Holbrook about LOGAN.
A couple of notes: The interview is spoiler-free. If you're wondering about the "seizure" sequences, you'll notice that nothing is specific and I don't mention any details. The idea of the seizures was talked about in earlier interviews with Hugh Jackman where he mentions who specifically is having them. I chose not to go in to those details. My questions were more from the filmmaking side. Also, regarding the movie "Shane," Mangold has already referenced that the LOGAN takes a lot of influence from that movie. It's because he is a real fan not just someone wanting to get paid and meet famous people . He asks the type of questions that people who watch the films would ask
They're pretty good.
I feel like one or two questions might be nerdy or annoying, but for the most part, he did a great job and had great people to interview.
He seems genuinely interested and enjoys his career, a lot of other interviewers ask the dumbest questions. These are great
He can be a bit much but he elicits good responses from the interviewees.
He is so great he's wasting so much potential at Fox the dude should make a TH-cam channel and I promise you he will get Crazy Big

Wow, I bet Kevin is refreshing to actors being interviewed since he doesn't ask stupid questions that the actor has heard 50 times that day. The bro hug at the end of the Hugh interview makes it obvious.
You might've seen an interview with Mila Kunis for "Oz the Great and Powerful". The interviewer is obviously nervous because, well, it's Mila Kunis. So she just wants to have a chat with him so he doesn't feel pressured to ask questions. He does flirt in a geeky way. But his producer comes in and asks that he start asking questions that he was given. Mila then decides to answer all the questions that she is sure he'll ask her rapid fire style because she's so used to the questions lol. Damn, why tf did I have to write all this?
Jeff Sorensen the most stupid question is about their diets and how they got in shape for the role. It's like.... how many times does a person have to answer that before it becomes generic 😒

I LOVE how Mangold and Fox took risks and they knew they weren't going to make the biggest of the profits. But they wanted to make an interesting movie, something MCU needs to learn.

I fucking love these guys.
You are my favorite interviewer but I will say the sound quality wasn't all that great. It could just be my computer but I don't think it is. I love you man (no homo) but bump up the sound just a little bit more I could barely hear sometimes. Also we are so close to release yet you were mentioning stuff from the movie such as the Xavier line, the casino scene. I realize they weren't super spoilers but I still din't want to hear about anything else until the movie comes out. That's why I stopped watching the tv spots. Again man you're awesome but these are just a few minor criticisms.
I really like this interviewer. He makes the celebs feel welcomed.
Please give this guy more time to interview people. Logical and actually questions that get the audience to know more about the movie and the characters instead of what is who's favorite color.

I cant say my memory of Shane was as fond. We watched it in class when I was in primary school and for the next month the kids where constantly saying "Shaaaaaaaane Shaaaaaaaane" at me. Yeah yeah whateva.... Could be worse though, my ex gf was named "Buffy". Man she hated that show lol
As an actor myself, a character doesn't stay with you, but you certainly learn more about yourself.

Can't wait for this film for many reasons, not the least of which the reunion of Stewart and Jackman with some really great materia. For me the saving grace of the X Men movies that often disappoints as a fan of the comics has always the casting of Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.

Yes Thank you so much! Finally someone acknowledges that an R-rating allows for a much more profund and sophisticated movie. That´s one of the reasons why all marvel movies suck, because they are made for 10 year olds.
playermartin286 Finally someone says exactly what I think about marvel movies. though Civil War did finally get more gritty. Fox is now 2 for 2 with this and deadpool. they definitely have a tried and true formula for how to make an r-rated superhero film.

KhaosLord how do you measure the competency of how a movie is made. I think you're just talking out your ass. Obviously Marvel movies are made well "cgi, sets, action choreography, etc." The studio is thrown hundreds of millions of dollars, but that doesn't mean the movie will be good. What it boils down to is the cohesion of the story and tone. Good action can entertain, but you need a good story to pull you into the experience and then comes acting performance of the cast then cgi etc.
Nope. If you can't make a sophisticated movie with a Pg13 rating, then you're just a bad filmmaker.
