That line is also fantastic, because the majority of the song is from the perspective of Wilson, a once-ordinary volleyball who was given the gift of “life” through Chuck, who gave him a “face” and made him his best friend on that island. But of course it’s also paralleled by the fact that not only was Chuck still alive (having survived the crash), but he found a new life with the “angel wings” girl once he made it back home. He’s “wonderfully alive” too!

Adam literally embodies the art of uplifting Nostalgia in his music, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever heard in my life. My love for his music has only grown as I’ve gotten older, it’s as if the world wasn’t ready for what he’s producing fully, but in a darker day than ever, it shines brighter now than ever before. Adam young reminds people what innocent Joy feels like. I hope he keeps making music.
This song in particular makes me want to take my kids to a paradise on the beach and watch them enjoy the best childhood anyone could ever wish for. It’s a pleasure to share this music with them *5 and 3 year old* 💙❤️

The song is based on the movie CASTAWAY, but from the POV/perspective of "Wilson" (the volleyball) and his/it's relationship with "Chuck" (Tom Hank) while on the Island missing his wife "Kelly" (Helen Hunt) hence the name of the song and the many references to the movie throughout.
Not only are the lyrics and ideas behind the song genius, but the way the tones, sounds, & vocals shift/change throughout the entirety of the song makes it incredible!
Adam Young(Owl City) is an incredible songwriter, storyteller, singer, performer, composer of music, etc. and it's a shame he's not recognized and appreciated more.
I'm thankful for everything Owl City/Adam Young has created and can't wait to see what comes next!!!

I was listening to it today really trying to break down what it meant, and it clicked while I was at work. Had to confirm it by watching a snippet of the movie near the end where Hanks said, "The sun will rise tomorrow and who knows what the tide could bring" I was actually looking for the card for Tommy when I knew he was going to the house to give the package to the house.

Fun fact: Kelly time is based on the plot of the 2000 American survival drama film “Cast Away”, sung from Wilson the volleyball’s perspective. The title refers specifically to the character Kelly, who the main character is in love with and engage to before his plane crashes and he is stranded. He puts a picture of her in a pocket watch during the film, referring to it as “Kelly time”.

Adam is such an incredible artist. I’m so grateful to God for him. Many of his songs have played a part in my life through the years. My walk with Jesus, weight loss, relationships, sparking my creative imagination, and encouragement to keep fighting in life are areas I have been impacted. He won’t ever know me but I’ve been sincerely touched by his words, music, and example.
If we were honest, I would imagine those who might be reading this would have a whole pile of memories and moments where Adam has touched our hearts in a meaningful way through his music. Remember that this is not a “given” or expected result, rather a special connection that can and should be cherished.
Be grateful. Be humble. Reflect on the incredible human experience (the good, the bad, the ugly) that we’ve been given (I believe) by God as “the gift of life” from our Creator. ❤️

If your in your 20’s like me…..STOP WORRYING. Yes life goes fast and we’ll be 30 in no time. But I don’t think any specific part of life is “better” per say. I believe life is simply what you make it, and we have to make it fun!

Had no idea this song was based on "Cast Away". Did not even know that movie (not a fan of movies in general). Reading the plot and after watching the video, the lyrics made sense and it made the song even more beautiful but sad. Now I wanna watch that movie.

Yes he will, probably this year. His album must be coming out in a few months. Adam's been active since last year and has done several collaborations in 2022 itself. It's not his first drop after Cinematic. Btw you should check out all the songs he's done last year, they're amazing.
