Good observation! I've been to Lopburi and as I was walking by the temple, a monkey jumped on my back (which I didn't mind) but then proceeded to aggressively bite my shoulder. Fortunately, just teeth marks. They may look cute but are wild and can be aggressive.

After reading quit a few comments I had to go back and watch it again, amazing what I missed: the one eating the corn, the one looking in his shirt pocket, the one who actually played a note, the rather large one sitting very relaxed on top of the piano with his leg stretched out towards Paul, and the little one that came back twice to sit on the keys and wrap his leg and hand across Paul’s arm. What an interesting experience for both Paul and the macaques. I found it rather fascinating to see how some really responded more to certain songs. Bravo Paul for your patience, you are a brilliant pianist and person!
Actually they didn't respond to any songs at all. Studies have been done that proved that monkeys show no different brain activity when you play music for them. They're too stupid and undignified to appreciate something like this.
I ❤️ this man! He’s a very unique, loving soul that plays his music NOT FOR EGO GRATIFICATION, ATTENTION OR RICHES...he plays for the animals’ enjoyment! U can see how much they love it & how comfy they are around him! So sweet!
It was cute when a bunch of the adolescent ones were holding onto him while he played. It almost looked like human children listening to a bedtime story.
@@existentialhangover1124 looking to see if there was food to fight over...they have a whole forest to forage in but want someone to hand deliver each pc to them...i noticed he got bite of the ear and several were trying to take his glasses...they do that and refuse to give them back until they get a specific food or treat they want..also they have parasites and carry horrible diseases...he had a lot of rear ends all over him and the piano ... I hope he is ok and didn't get anything from them....I love hearing him play and does such a wonderful job but macaque monkeys could care less just wanting hand outs not anything else...i love listening to the piano and when he played for the elephants that was amazing...stay safe

Couple of points of interest: 1) That they didn't start thumping on the keys while he was playing - were quite reverential of what he was doing. 2) Noticed a couple of bandaids on musician's arm at the end that weren't there at the beginning. Hmmm... : )

I’m a retired Oklahoma teacher. That’s exactly what it’s like in a elementary through seventh grade classroom when the kids see snow start to fly outside the window. It’s a hoot!!! They can’t stay seated a second. They’re like worms in hot ashes. The little monkeys are so enjoying the new found friend, the interesting noise, and the ownership of it all. They don’t understand it, but they love it.
My home town! My high-school is nearby across the railway. We had to be careful with our bags when walk around the area. They seem to think there were food lol.

This is an old vid & this is an old comment. A small country town in Australia was having its yearly celebrations. The most coveted? The Nundle Dog Race which was exactly as it sounds & was open to any competitor. My sister was visiting from Sydney so we dropped in, bought ourselves terrific coffee & then discovered the “girls”. The most divine singers who had no audience so I started dancing & my sister knitted. The Wool Mill had a “knit a square” invitation so my sister fixed other people’s mistakes & as I said, I danced. Pretty sure we would have bought coffee for these wonderful performers & this vid opened my memory of 20 years ago. God I’ve had a fabulous life. Della

If only this is one of the ways we can communicate with animals too, way we share humanity and love with animals, I think there'd be a beautiful union and story between humans and animals as coexisting living creatures. If only maybe we weren't planted evil seeds to be cruel with animals and learn to tame and even study how to understand them. :3
