I dropped seven prescription drugs I was supposed to be on for life. This included depression medication I was on for more than twenty years. How did I do it? In a nutshell all of these things helped. 1. Developing my relationship with God, (daily worship, bible meditation (outloud) and prayer. Secondly, becoming emotionally healthy and learning to attract healthy friends into my life. Sometimes we are emotionally unhealthy and dont even know it. Thirdly, stopped watching TV and avoided anything that would fill my mind with negativity. This includes negative people. And lastly, I cut out processed foods and processed sugar eleven years ago. This is a game changer! What we eat is so important, unfortunately few people are willing to let go addictive drugs called sugar, salt, processed oil and more. Lost forty pounds to boot! Eleven year anniversary in 2024!

I was so lost several years ago and in 2020 I felt like I lost everything that mattered to me. Suffered from anxiety. But I met Jesus and found myself at the foot of the cross. He turned my life around and restored me. My identity is in Christ and I now have peace beyond understanding. Hope anyone going through this right now will come to Him. Jesus said, " Come to me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest to your souls. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and humble in heart. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Not to detract from what Dr James Marcum has mentioned. But i find this verse very encouraging and full of hope. When I re-enter another bout of depression due to the pace of this life. *Isaiah 40 31*
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Depression is a demon. Root causes include discouragement, deep grief, loss, unforgiveness and/or hope deferred. Seek the Lord, press in, to find the root.
I battled it for a long time and still have bouts from time to time. Heart sickness can be remedied. Give it to Jesus 💜

      @BiblicalPrescriptionsforLife  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

Thank you for this. Just a note on Omega 3. It’s specifically high doses (1g-3g per day) of EPA needed to help depression. Plant sources like walnuts and linseeds are rich in ALA only so they won’t yield that. Sardines, pilchards and Mackerel and salmon are rich sources or else supplementation.

I had s3vere depression for 40 years and then read abook about being transformed by the renewing of the mind.
Basically fil your mind with scriptures. Here is what I do.... Ll through the day a d they just pop up automatically now as if to answer demons who send negative thoughts.
    Scriptures....
THIS is the day the Lord has made I WILL rejoice and be glad in it,
Take EVERY thought captive and MAKE IT OBEDIENT to Christ
I will give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God for me in Christ Jesus
God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind
Trust in the Lord with all your heart lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways submit to Him and He WILL direct your path
I guarantee you, if you fill your mind with Gods word, you will beat the enemy. I am proof. I spent 40 years an alcoholic. Stopped and went straight into Gods word. Easy? NO....Worth it. OH YES!!! Praise Him.

    1) Walk with God: listen, study the Bible, pray, express your deepest thoughts/desire, understand that God's will for you may include depression but His ways are ultimately for your good
    2) Cling to the promises in the word: memorize and internalize
    3) Find loyal supportive friends, maybe a good therapist
    4) Plant based diet: Increases serotonin, vitamin D, alpha 3 omega acids
    5) Physical movement/activity: outside for fresh air/sunlight
