- Watch in HD Hey guys! Before my phone interview for the Disney College Program, I wanted to know what to expect and what questions I should practice answering! Here is my experience and I hope it helps you guys prepare for yours! I listed the questions she asked me in the captions, but check out this blog for tons of other questions you can think about before your interview!

I love that you put the questions on the screen for us viewers to read! It makes preparing for a phone interview much easier because I know what to expect. I am not applying for another year or so but I like preparing myself for the future.
I’m only in 8th grade but working at Disney is honestly one of my dream jobs and I’m planning to at least try for the dcp in college

@@its_bobatimeee7797 Yes! I have a whole cork board with questions and bullet answers so that I can prepare. It's nice to see someone with the same dream as me!
I was waiting for questions like "name a time when...." or "What would you say is one of strengths/weaknesses" or even better the dreaded "Have you ever had a conflict with a boss,superior, or coworker? How did you handle it?"
I was relieved that she mostly asked questions I was prepared to answer... but it was still tough because I wanted to get accepted so badly!

I’m only 12 but I’ve wanted to work there for years now, so when I leave school I’m planning to move to America get my license and a job and a few months later sign up for DCP.
This was so helpful to watch and really helped ease my nerves. I have my phone interview on Friday!

Hi I just wanted to comment and say that because of this video I was very prepared and ready to go for my DCP Phone Interview, I applied and 9 days later I was told I was moving on, then that day I did the web based interview I was told like 10 minutes later that I was moving on YET again, I did my phone interview 10 days later and they told me I’d know 2-4 weeks later, 2 days later I was accepted!! So thank you so much for helping me prepare and know what to expect!!

I’ve been watching a bunch of these videos because I would love to do this in college and am wondering is there a reason why everyone writes their name down?
Hi!! Great question- it’s basically because they want to be able to refer to their interview person by name. For example, saying thank you “xx” at the end. It’s just a way of showing you are personable, professional and a good listener!
my phone interview is tuesday it was friday but i moved it forward so i don't over think my answers and stress myself out all week. i was so nervous during and before my wbi i couldnt eat at all.

This is so helpful!! Do you have any tips on the initial application? I am going to apply for next spring since i’ll be taking a gap semester, and i’m a little nervous about getting knocked out at the first stage.
I have a horrible studder and I'm terrified for the call if I get asked to do one.
What roles did you put high, moderate, low and no interest in?
Cynthia-Rae Moreno I’m sorry I missed this comment before!! It’s really hard to remember but I think I put high interested in about 50% of roles, moderate interest in 40% and then low or no interest in the 10% leftover. Specifically, high interest in Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, Lifeguard, Childrens Activities, Character Attendant, character performer, and maybe a few others. I think I decided to put no interest in Food and Beverage, but it might’ve been low interest. It’s not a bad thing to put no interest in a couple of roles, but I think it’s always beneficial to be interested in a lot of roles to give yourself a better chance of being accepted.
Is it okay for you to say no to any of the questions that ask if you are/aren’t comfortable doing something? Like im not comfortable swimming/ being in water, would it be okay for me to admit that or would that immediately not make me a candidate for a job? Thank you !!!
J S that is definitely okay!! Likely they will ask you if you’re comfortable in water (if not, just say no because it just means they won’t place you as a life guard), comfortable standing for long periods of time (say yes because you’ll be doing this in every role!!) and comfortable lifting boxes (I think maybe merch role does this but idk really who else... so answer yes because it shouldn’t be a problem for anyone really).
J S obviously you want to answer honestly if you do have any foot or back conditions that would be a major issue, but standing and maybe some minor lifting are standard things for working these sorts of job!s!

No it’s okay if you have a tattoo! One of my friends has several tattoos, even one on the back of her neck and one on her wrist, and she was accepted! Disney will just require you to wear a costume that covers the tattoos and it must be covered somehow during professional events (training and stuff). But it doesn’t mean you won’t be accepted!!

Hailey Finocchio Hi!! I’m literally filming a video about this tomorrow!! I think living with sisters is GREAT experience!! I have 3 older sisters too so I totally relate!! I would tell your recruiter in your interview that even though you didn’t live with roommates exactly, you have 3 sisters and had to handle a lot of conflict between you guys and learned how to compromise!

What if youve never had like a stable job? You know i've done a couple modeling "jobs" and helped out on my aunts food truck and done 2 internships but does that look bad???
Emma W girl it sounds like you’ve done a lot!! I think those are all super applicable to the college program interview. Just think about the things you’ve learned from those jobs and how you can use those skills for your job at Disney! They know we are college students and probably don’t expect us to have this super consistent, perfect resume. I am going to make a video soon about how to use the experience you do have to your advantage in getting the role you want at Disney!! Stay tuned and I will talk more about it then!!

I would explain something along the lines of “Fortunately I have not had to deal with an emergency situation, but if I were faced with one...” and explain the steps you would take in an emergency!!

Omg good luck!!! You’ll do great. Try to prepare by gathering your thoughts about previous job experiences and make note of things that you think set you apart! Disney doesn’t know about your special skills and talents, so you have to let them know! Stay relaxed and if you stumble over your words or aren’t sure what to say, just pause , take a breath and keep going.

Is there a way you can put one job for merchandise down? Cause I have done merchandise work when I was younger as help does that count as a job to put on the application
Kam K yes, you can list up to 5 previous jobs/work experience! You can list anything like babysitting, volunteering, helping out in merchandise, etc!

I am going through the process to try and become part of the DCP. I got an email today about the initial interview on the computer. Do you have any tips for this to go well? Or anything I need to know?
That is awesome!! Congrats on getting out of the applied stage!! So basically they are going to ask you some questions about your personality and how you handle situations and you will answer by selecting whether you strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree, or strongly disagree with each statement. My advice is to stick with strongly agree and strongly disagree when answering, and only use neutral when it feel appropriate for you. We think Disney likes people with strong opinions so that’s why I recommend selecting the “strongly” options. Just answer honestly and think about how Disney would want you to treat their guests. Some questions might seem like they have more than one “good” answer, and so I say just select the one that’s the most like you!! Sending you prayers and good luck!! You will do great!!

Hopefully you see this lol. Does knowing more languages help you get accepted? I know English, Spanish and Catalan, and learning more. Also, does previously having foreign exchange students as a little roommate count in those kinds of questions. I had multiple and shared a room with them all when I was younger.
Paige C oh I have no doubt that knowing more than one language gives you huge perks with Disney. I don’t know if it means you’re guaranteed a spot in the program, but it is for sure going to be very helpful!! Disney loves bilingual cast members because you are able to help more guests that may not speak English.

Brittany Sitler hey!! So basically it’s okay if you have tattoos, they just cannot be visible in any way when you’re at work. So if it’s on your wrist or arm, you would have to wear a long sleeve part of your uniform. I think you can also cover it with makeup but typically you just have to wear a costume that covers it! Having tattoos does not mean you can’t work for Disney!

22Autumn basically! It is especially a personality test that evaluates who you are as a person and how you would react and adapt to different situations. Definitely take you time and do it in peace and quiet.

Yes exactly! It’s just situations and asks you what you’d do to take care of it basically. I just answered as honestly as I could with respect to what Disney would probably want employees to do!
