I could definitely tell a difference in the sound after the mods. I was riding my grom today (just got it a week ago) and thought something was loose in the back because of all the noise. Will be looking into these. Thanks for the video!
My old og GROM must have been built on a Friday dude in the factory just have been in a good mood, cause I’d see 70mph with an exhaust, I was also 165lbs. 😂
With break in on a slight down hill ive seen 73 pinned. But it does well well on the highway. 55-62 ish. With these mod i bet the cruising side would be more pleasant.
i have an Aus 21 so a US 22 only thing done to the bike is a tail tidy and protaper bars so stock bike my weight is 55kg (121lb) and my top speed is exactly the same as this after the mods are done 104kph (64.6mph) no tuck
Id love a more in depth video of this installation of all this stuff because i wanna get a 24 or 25 grom but do basic things like this to try and make it faster
How much would it cost to mod my grom like this the correct way without blowing anything and making it last a long time? I have the money please help 🙏 sorry im new to motorcycle

@HunterTuned did you figure at the noise you start talking about at 3:56? I am on the stock sprocket and chain and have the same sound. I find it concerning but I talked to a couple of peeps about it and they say it is to be expected. Dunno...
This is gunna sound odd but adding a windscreen and in take really helped. My groms top speed , perfect conditions itll sit at 130km/h. Slightly windy 124km/h. … going up an incline 116 km/h
I am buying a Grom tomorrow so the video was super interesting and very well explained. Is it hard on the engine to run it close to max say for an hour or more?
Remember to break in the motor if new. 200-300 miles should do it before you peg the speedo. Then change oil to Motool racing oil or good Honda oil. Adjust chain and tighten handle bars and wheel nuts. Don't pop wheelies until you get crash bars and wheelie bars. Always wear a helmet ⛑️
Hello, I have a 2023 honda grom, I've installed a kemimoto exhaust, tst worx airbox cover, K&N air filter, decha tube, and a tune by DHM. I also run royal purple 10w40 max cycle with a K&N oil filter made for synthetic oil, and i run 91 octane. I've also switched out the tail fender (as he did in the video between his tests without saying:/) and lithium ion battery instead of lead acid cutting 5lbs of overall weight. I weigh 250lbs roughly fully clothed with gear and can hit 60 pretty damn quick and go up to 70 with a good tail wind and level ground. Honestly if you have only done the tst airbox cover it's just not enough. The decha tube by DHM is a larger diameter intake tube that goes in-between the stock airbox and throttle body and the K&N air filter features no wire restrictive barrier and better airflow overall and it can be cleaned instead of replaced.
My experience on 2023 grom,is to just add a +3 or 4 rear sprocket. If you're over 200lbs it will almost never run out of rom,but carry 64 mph on flat, and get there much faster than stock. Chain made no difference for me,solid drive did nothing (maybe help you wheelie) , never tried rotors.
I have a Grom and whilst this is interesting I think if youre involved in all this then youve probably bought the wrong bike. Ps.Thats not a country road, thats a super highway! Hi from Wales 😀
I got 68 on a stock OG with minor mods. Intake, Ecu, SR, exhaust, sprockets, etc etc ... Speedo was only off by 2 mph via GPS! I took the bike to my local dealer multiple time for upgrades! Bought used & it has more RPM left at 65mph. 8 ish..
ECU tune does nothing if you don't update the fuel injector to support the mod the best thing to do is just replace the fuel injector with the one used on the Honda PCX/ADV160.
$370 plus shipping for 2 mph doesnt seem worth it. How often are you running pinned wide open in 5th gear? Im wondering what the results would have been completely stock including the exhaust, but just changing out the spacers for $50
with 5 gears shouldn't that go a little faster at least? jeez I was looking for a 24 grom but I don't think so anymore my 18 grom does 71mph I am only 135lbs but still mine only has a exhaust rear sprocket and its stretched.. waiting for drowsports intake and eco flash... still a great explained video though! ps don't sell the ko3 turbo grom we want more videos!
I have a 2022 model and im 155lbs. With strong headwind I can reach about 64mph and with tailwind 71mph. I even got a thicker chain (428) and stock sprocket sizes (that match the chain though). I got an arrow exhaust though but dont think that makes much of a difference?
I’m just seeing this now 😂. Saw a thing that showed all your comments. They were all just trashing grom mods. That’s as desperate cry for attention like a dude going to a feminist page bashing men 😂. Reducing rotating mas, weight and resistance, especially in a low hp application is a cheap n easy way to experience gains. good vid.
I think 60 is PLENTY for the grom.. What id be MOST interested in is.. how can I get to 60mph QUICKER...
Cool test, I was genuinely interested in the results. Nice work on bridging the enthusiast communities. We love anything with internal combustion!
I put a strip of dynamat on the inside of the sprocket bell. Made a huge difference! Quietened her right down.

Very nice video you left out fuel mileage from this context. Those same mods should improve mpg but I wonder how much?
I'm not a physicist, but I do know it takes power to create noise. So just the noise reduction will reduce parasitic power losses.

When you added the YOSH did you have do ignition update?
doesn't the speed spacer kind of defeat some of the purpose since it no longer comes in contact with that outer dust shield?

Definitely more bike videos 🤘🏻 also what mic are you using while on the bikes?
I think it’s some random Sony mic I have jammed into my helmet lol
Just wondering with all the bikes why you don’t have a 250 or 360 cc dirt bike?
those are not as fun as a grom.
No faster acceleration or low end torque or any of that?
I have a Grom and whilst this is interesting I think if youre involved in all this then youve probably bought the wrong bike. Ps.Thats not a country road, thats a super highway! Hi from Wales 😀
Try front sprocket 14T (-1), even with more errors on Speedo, you'll get better top end speed on 5th gear
Don't do that. Honda gave the new Grom a 5 speed transmission. By lowering the gearing, it becomes a 4 speed again, making first useless.
Maybe a higher gear ratio on the back and a smaller one on motor... Maybe it would be better???
Great video. Might get a few more cruising mpg with your mods.
How much did they cost you? Did you get everything from grom fathers?

"Make your Honda Grom FASTER Without Adding POWER" lose weight? I know I could lose a few.
