    Super helpful video👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻wish I would have known the receiver was in the motor housing to begin with, I looked all over for it but couldn’t find one very frustrating! Your video is perfect in describing exactly what to do thanks sooo much😀❤️🙌🏻

    When programing remote it didn't do what video shows. Fan motor started right up no flashing light but seems to work as should. As snoozieg8210 said the one screw holding receiver is a mother to get to. Thanks for the vid.

    Thanks for this! They told me I wouldn’t have to remove the fan and sent no instructions 🙄

    Thanks for a helpful video. So I am working on a Casablanca ceiling fan(59512 with DC motor). Unfortunately, I have cut the antenna wire, would it have any impact on the fan functionality?
    It was a thick gray wire with a small connector, after stripping can see it has silver wire and inside there is sheathing and a connector. It is not part of the main 8 pin connector though, so curious if fan would work or no?

    I'm trying to replace the factory receiver with a universal remote &receiver (for harbor breeze) but the wires aren't matching up and I am positive it's the right kit !!!

      The instructions in this video are for DC fans that have their receivers built into the motor. These types of fans can only use receivers that are the exact same model and specification as their originals. Fans with receivers in their canopies can usually work with universal remote/receiver kits, but this video may not be very helpful for replacing them. The electrical connections section from this fan video may be helpful however: th-cam.com/video/pLhGHE9RIBw/w-d-xo.html

    Any idea where to get a replacement receiver for a Minka Aire Aviator fan. Believe it is made by Fego. They call it an RC-140

    How can you modify this fan so that I can use it without the remote. I want to connect to the fan to a wall dimmer switch and the lights to a separate dimmer switch. Will removing the receiver do this? Will I then have separate lines?

    • @TALCeilingFans

      Unfortunately, DC motors need the receiver to change speeds correctly. A speed dimmer will damage the components in the receiver and prevent the fan from working. The fan can only be controlled with the included hand held remote or with a Bond WiFi Smart Home Hub.

      @@TALCeilingFans Thanks for videos and advice. Where can one buy an extra remote in case the original gets broken? Mine is a UC7225T. I've looked throughout the web, but I can't find any sellers.

      @TALCeilingFans  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@woodrowmerle Home Depot will replace the remotes under warranty or sell new remotes. Unfortunately, the remotes currently aren't listed online for purchase, but you can call 1-800-986-3460 or the phone number in your fan's owner's manual.

    So the guy at lows tells me they dont sell replacement remotes for a cieling fan. Instead he tells me you have to replace the remote unit with a universal kit. I bought one. Took the old one out wired it up and nothing. The issue is that the old unit some how had wires not consistant through it. I pulled the old wires and now have 5 leads to the motor windings and a white and blue to the light kit. The old motor controler had the same 3 wires but had 2 aditional modules thet were wired in with a switch for forward and revers. Need to know how to rewire the motor with out the extra stuff or how to reinstall modules and switch if there still needed. No one addresses this . also there were only a white and black wire at the junction where the mains come in and no ground. I pulled a third wire through to use for grounding the fan. I suppose what i need to know is how many wires have to go to the black wire from the new remote module as it only has 3 outputs and the fan has 7 inputs. The numbers make the issue apperent but not the solution. Like hooking up a blower motor that has multaple wires for speeds and you use ony one of them to get high and the speed is mannaged with a varieing current supply. Instead of a switch.

    how do i get a new regular DC motor receiver? i have looked online and tired to contact Rhine.

      @TALCeilingFans  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The manufacturer of the fan should be able to send you replacement receivers. Check the top of the motor, some vendors will put their contact number there. If not, you can grab the UPC number from the motor and contact the customer service department for the hardware company you bought it from (like Home Depot or Lowes). If you have the owner's manual, the contact information is noted there as well. You can also try searching for the UPC number online to find the vendor/manufacturer.

    What a pain. I had ac fans that lasted over 30 years. Dc fans don’t seem to last past 5 years.

    72” Kensgrove fan receiver screws cannot be removed with a Philips screwdriver. The screws are under the round plate that is held in place with safety hex screws which normal people don’t have the tool to remove them.
    Shame on Hampton Bay or whoever made this fan.
    Sell a fan that does not need to have a faulty receiver replaced.
    Thanks for the video, but BOoooo for the faulty Chinese engineering.
