Friday prayer is not the Sabbath it is a day for prayer in the Mosque after which work can continue. The Sabbath is a day of rest which has always been Saturday. Similarly Christian’s going to church on Sunday are not observing the Sabbath they are just go to a church to pray. Both religions are not observing the principles of the original Sabbath as documented in the Torah.

*The third mention* of the Sabbath in the Qur’an is also found in chapter four.
“And we caused the Mount to tower above them at (the taking of) their covenant: and We bade them: Enter the gate, prostrate! And we bade them: Transgress not the Sabbath! And We took from them a firm covenant.” (Q4:154)
This text is also addressed to Christians, as the preceding ayat indicates. It is given as part of the response to Christians who made the demand on the Prophet that he should cause a book to descend from heaven in their sight. The answer is that God has already given the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai. Since these are still valid, no other “book” is going to come down in the sight of humankind. This ayat summarizes the Ten Commandments in two commands. The first is the command of prayer in prostration, which is a commentary on the second commandment in the positive. The command not to make or bow down to images has its positive form, which is definitely to bow in prostration to God. The second command mentioned is in regard to Sabbath observance. The implication is that the whole Decalogue is summed up in these two commandments, and that they are in practical relationship to one another. That is, to bow in prostration before God on the Sabbath day is obligatory and is the essence not only of these two commandments, but also of all ten. This does not seek to change the term the Two Great Commandments, but explains the dual aspects of the First Great Commandment.
The fourth passage mentioning the Sabbath is in chapter 7:163.
“Ask them (O Muhammad) of the township that was by the sea, how they did break the sabbath, how their big fish came unto them visibly upon their sabbath day and on a day when they did not keep sabbath came they not unto them. Thus did We try them for that they were evil-livers.”
The Sabbath-breaking event is described in more detail here. According to tradition this took place in a seaside Jewish community during the time of David. Because of their injustice God gave them a trial. He caused fish to appear in their weirs on the Sabbath, but not on other days. If they had not set out their weirs on the Sabbath, this could not have occurred. In so doing they dared God to punish them. At the same time, God tested their Sabbath observance by bringing fish only on that day. He would not have done so had they been obedient.
Many people claim that Sabbath observance is impossible. It has become impossible for them precisely because they have refused to observe it. In failing to observe it, they have lost the spiritual capacity to appreciate it.
The last mention of the Sabbath is in chapter 16.
“The Sabbath was appointed only for those who differed concerning it, and lo! Thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that wherein they used to differ.” (Q16:124)
    Two other translations run thus:
“The punishment for profaning the Sabbath was imposed only on those who had differed about it and thy Lord will surely judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that wherein they differed.” (The Holy Qur’an, Islam International Publications Ltd., 1988.)
The Quran, a new translation by Muhammad Zafrulla Khan, Curzon Press, 1971, gives the following:
“The penalty for profaning the Sabbath was imposed only on those who had differed about it, and thy Lord will surely judge between them on the day of Judgment concerning that wherein they differed.”
The words “penalty” and “punishment” at the beginning of the ayat are supplied by the translators because they are implied in the word ju’ila. The meaning of the verse is that there is a punishment for Sabbath-breaking, but it is to be carried out upon those who dispute the obligation to keep the Sabbath. Furthermore, it is concluded from this text that no punishment for Sabbath-breaking is to be carried out before the Day of Judgment.
The Sabbath and New Moons and Feasts will be enforced during the millennial system.
This is an excellent illustration of how the Qur’an complements and completes the Bible. In the Bible we are faced with two problems. The first is that the punishment for Sabbath-breaking is death. In practice, this is not carried out in the current age."

Thanks great explanation. All of the names are just based on tribes of followers. Yehudi and Christianos. Submitters refers to all and is expected to be practiced by all "people of the book"
David in the Torah would lay Prostrate morning noon and night. This is something else long forgotten that followers are expected to do. The word abrogate bothers me to no end. No works outside of the scriptures given to the prophets can be alter what is within them. A perfect example is the marriage of a man to sisters prior to the scriptures being given. These marriages are not supposed to be broken up according to the Quran. "We do not wish to make things difficult for you" is a running theme throughout. Yet it was believed to be abrogated. As the Quran is perfect, this cannot even be a question.

This is clearly a plagiarism with wrong interpretation by muslims due to limited resources on their part.

Many Christians will tell you that when Jesus died we no longer need to keep the Sabbath but his death does not affect any of the commandments.

Martin Luther started truly studying religion and was outraged with the Catholic Canon. Generations passed and Saturday was all but forgotten. All in the interest of showing that Abrahamic religions were completely different. In reality, they are all very similar. David prayed 3 times a day in Salat form. The teaching is nearly identical.
At the end of the day, it was men and corruption of the religions that makes them appear so different. History repeats itself. The people of the book refers to Jews, Christians, and Muslims. The Quran states that it will be given to you perfect in your native language. Yet man has said it can only be read in Arabic. The problem with that is that anyone reading in a second language is seeing it in their native tongue. Whether I read Spanish, French, or even Arabic, I'm seeing English if that makes sense? Deuteronomic Reform, great religious reformation instituted in the reign of King Josiah of Judah (c. 640-609 BC). It was so called because the book of the Law found in the Temple of Jerusalem (c. 622 BC), which was the basis of the reform, is considered by scholars to be the same as the law code in the book of Deuteronomy (chapters 12-26). The reform consisted of removing pagan altars and idols from the Temple, destroying rural sanctuaries and fertility cults, and centralizing worship at the Temple of Jerusalem.

I think people don’t understand what “sabbath” is. We must observe “Sabbath” every 7 days, aka once a week. So the “sabbath” is still the same even if you put it on Wednesday or Monday. But Sabbath must be observed every 7 days, every week, thus if you were to put it on Monday, than sabbath will be on Monday by default.
“Sabbath” must simply be observed “every 7 days” there was no specific day it should be observed, but the Jews chose Saturday.
As not to cause confusion, Allah swt put “sabbath” on Friday.
Why sabbath must be observed is because the 7th day of Allah creating is significant, in the Torah it says Allah “rested” on the 7th day, but people misinterpreted it as Allah getting tired astaghfirullah. What actually it’s talking about is that Allah stopped (or will stop) creating on the 7th day. I say this will be the Day of Judgement and we humans are still on the 6th day of Allah’s creation. The 7th day is yet to come, which I believe is yawn Al qiyamah, which is why Allah tells us to dedicate one day every 7 days to him.
A “day” in the Quran and Torah is not a literal Earth day, but a period. So if Allah created everything in 6 days, and we humans say that the universe is 13.8 billon years old, then each period, or “day” in the Torah and Quran is 2.3 billion earth years, or simply 1/6th of whatever age the universe is in Earth years.

While it is true that God doesn’t require any rest, in Quran 7:54 it is said that God created the world in six days. In the seventh day, the creation was complete and to appreciate God’s creation, the Sabbath day was created. Allah did not stop creating in the seventh day because he was tired; rather Allah is so great that he didn’t need the seventh day to complete his creation. In Quran 4:154, Allah ordained “Do not break the Sabbath Day”. Thus, Muslims do believe in the Sabbath Day. We believe the universe finished its integration on Friday. In Quran 62:9-10, it was ordained that we stop working and hasten to prayer (in a masjid) on this day. I hope this clears your confusion.

Friday evening at sunset is the beginning of the next day. it is a prescription in the 10 commandments and in the thora. Nowhere in the Coran are the 10 commandments sited. Abraham kept the 10 commandments. Genesis 26:5 Exodus 20:4Moses also observed the 10 commandments written by the finger of God. (Deuteronomy 31:18 and 9:10) the answer is in the torah and we must rest. ALL PROPHET OBSEVED SABBATH! It's a false teaching to say that no one must not rest. it is not recognizing Moses as a prophet. Saturday is the 7th day, the Sabbath. sabbath means rest. sura 10:94 surah 4:44. you have to read the torah and the gospels to understand the true meaning of a text. the books of the ancient prophets before Mohammad.

The change to Sunday by the rest of Christendom ought to be puzzling indeed as there is no scripture that authorizes that change and no example of Jesus' disciples worshipping on Sunday.

*Interesting read:* 👉🏾 "it may well be that Muslims would do well to re-evaluate the Qur’anic injunctions in regard to the Sabbath. Sunni traditions report that the prophet had the habit of performing two prostrations of Duha prayer in the Quba mosque on Saturday mornings and only Saturday mornings. In other words, the Prophet kept the Sabbath. There are similar historical references to the rightly guided Caliphs as well. Sunni Muslims do not follow this sunna of the prophet, however. Shi’ite tradition regards the Sabbath as a mustahabfast (of which there is no punishment for breaking) during which time anything that is performed will be repeated sometime in the future. Therefore, weddings, funerals, and the cutting of nails are regularly avoided on the Sabbath by Shi’ites.
The first reference to the Sabbath is found in the second chapter.
“And ye know of those of you who broke the Sabbath, how We said unto them: Be ye apes, despised and hated! And We made it an example to their own and to succeeding generations, and an admonition to the Godfearing.” (Q2:65,66)
The text is addressed to Jews. The occasion mentioned here is generally thought to be the same one described later in Surah Seven (Q7:163). It was a transgression of food-getting, which is fishing on the Sabbath and thus parallels the transgression of gathering manna on the Sabbath as reported in Exodus 16.
The punishment for this disobedience was a curse in which the people were proclaimed apes. This curse is enlarged upon in Q5:60:
“Shall I tell thee of a worse (case) than theirs for retribution with Allah? Worse (is the case of him) whom Allah hath cursed, him on whom His wrath hath fallen! Worse is he of whose sort Allah hath turned some to apes and swine, and who serveth idols. Such are in worse plight and further astray from the plain road.”
Those turned into apes not only broke the Sabbath but also in so doing they served idols. The word for idol here is Taghut, which is one who exceeds the bounds; in this case the boundaries on the observance of the Sabbath. But the word is generalised to refer to the Devil, to people who turn others from the right path and to all idols in general. Sabbath-breaking is thus Devil-worship, the following of false guides, and idolatry.
Although the text is addressed to Jews, the next ayat tells us that the lesson was not only for them. It was also for those of succeeding generations. The succeeding generations are primarily the descendants of the Jews, but also for the Godfearing. The lesson is thus for everyone who fears God, that is, who strives in the right way. Most commentators suggest that it is the punishment for disobedience, which is the lesson, and not the punishment for Sabbath-breaking as such. Thus the command to keep the Sabbath was only for those Jews, and not for others. However, there can be no lesson in the punishment for disobedience if there is no valid command. There are two choices of interpretation: either the lesson involves punishment for Sabbath-breaking, or it involves punishment for disobeying some other command. But no other command is mentioned. Therefore it is the punishment for Sabbath-breaking that is the warning for the Godfearing of our generation. If we suppose that the command does not touch us, and the punishment does not touch us, then the categorization of Godfearing does not touch us either. Or, if we claim to be Godfearing, then both the command to keep the Sabbath touches us, and the punishment for disregarding it.
There is disagreement on whether the change into apes was literal or not. The result is the same, whether it is a physical change or a mental one. The Sabbath is provided for spiritual development through submission to the divine command and through the recitation, hearing, and studying of the sacred books in worship. To fail to submit oneself to God and neglect the revelatory blessings of the Sabbath is to make a monkey of oneself. That is, to make oneself capable of obedience only as mimicry and without spiritual understanding. There is no doubt that monkeys fulfill the Creator’s praise, nor does this verse deride them. From the human point of view, monkeys are characterized by the trait of mimicry. To be an ape means to carry out the forms of religion without spiritual discernment. This is the logical result of neglecting the Sabbath.
The next reference to the Sabbath is in chapter four.
“O ye unto whom the Scripture hath been given! Believe in what We have revealed confirming that which ye possess, before we destroy countenances so as to confound them, or curse them as We cursed the Sabbathbreakers (of old time), The commandment of Allah is always executed. Lo! Allah forgiveth not that a partner should be ascribed unto Him. He forgiveth (all) save that to whom He will. Whoso ascribeth partners to Allah, he hath indeed invented a tremendous sin.” (Q4:47,48)
This ayat also takes the same event as an illustration, and this is more carefully described in chapter seven to come. It differs from the preceding ayat in being addressed to Christians as well as Jews. We have already seen how the worship of false gods has been associated with the Sabbath, and here the association reappears most clearly. To this is added a third sin, the rejection of the Qur’an. That is, the Qur’an makes appeal to the unity of God and the universal obligation of the Sabbath as a witness that the Qur’an is true revelation. To reject the Qur’an is to call down upon oneself the curse of the Sabbath-breaker. By the same token, acceptance of the Qur’an implies acceptance of the witnesses to its truth: the obligation to observe the Sabbath and to ascribe no partners (in deity) to God in a Trinity.
    The third mention ...

I am pretty sure during the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) He didn't pray for himself at the end of praying. Is it considered shirk? Because Allah said you must not worship anyone else aside Allah. Then why are we praying for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) in that case? We should include them in our daily duas instead after praying, not during our prayer/salah intended only for Allah. I'm hoping you can clear that question in my mind. Thank you.

@@catstudio6828, why I think we should include blessing Abraham (PBUH) in our salah, is because there was a covenant between God and Abraham (PBUH) God said to Abraham (PBUH) that anyone who blesses you shall be blessed forever and anyone that curses you will be cursed forever it says in the bible and also some narrations so we should keep blessing Abraham so that God will bless us forever it is the jews and Christians who don't even care about him and we bless him in our five daily prayers but they kinda do the opposite if you talk to some jews and Christians they will tell you that Isaac is the son of Abraham and Ishmael is the illegitimate son of Abraham (PBUH) because he wasn't born of the wife of Abraham (PBUH) he was born of a slave woman Hagar who was his slave so they believe that Abraham (PBUH) committed adultery which is a curse and that's why I think they are the ones that are cursed forever because they cursed Abraham (PBUH)
you will never see a jew or a Christian saying "ABRAHAM ON WHOM BE PEACE AND BLESSINGS"
      but Muslims?????

If God gave a rest day and it's the Sabbath day. I don't think it's because Allah was tired. I think it's how we can be known by God. That being said, why does everyone insist on Friday at dusk or any dusk in general. I ask This because, I was raised to think God separated light from darkness and called light day and darkness night. Why isn't Sabbath from sunrise to sunset and the day of rest observed at daytime instead of overnight. Aren't Sabbath day observances at night contradictory to God's separation of night and day in the beginning of scripture

Actually the word in Hebrew means two things : "stop" and "rest". Perhaps, in that context, "stop" would be more proper

Sabbath starts from Friday's sunset to Saturday sunset actually. Genesis 1:5 (KJV) And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. It says the day is an evening and a morning. So days start in the sunset

...to add also, in the beginning, and the earth existed was emptiness and chaos and DARKNESS upon the face of the abyss.
That is why 'the Yom' = the Day' began with darkness, and then God said, "let be light, and was light".
      So the separating between,
      " '(Light)the day' and '(Darkness)the night', "
became what we now call evening.

This is confusing, the Torah clearly says to keep sabbath forever! Muslims say torah was changed it sabbath was really on a friday ? You would think that tradition would never be forgotten by the jews since the day of revelation on Mount Sinai ever since that day they kept sabbath on same day. Even if they didn't have a torah in the household, I highly doubt that the original tradition would be lost from not knowing what day is the real sabbath. Abrogation doesn't sound convincing.

The Sabbath is from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. So, literally Saturday begins after the Sun sets on Friday. Many confuse days to mean 12am is the start of a new day, but we all know this is not true.
