So they sell them at most big hardware stores and they will plug in fine but the threaded plastic connection piece will not be the same.
So it will work but I can’t guarantee how water tight it will be. Make sense?

Is it safe to put both the red and black wire to the battery? I always thought the black had to be touching some ground part on the truck
Should be totally fine. Iv had zero issues thus far.
Any time, any time you can hook both black and red directly to the battery, you absolutely should. I can't stress this enough. Audio heads running ginormous stereos always go to the battery, truckers run big Wattage cb radios to the battery, it's the best option anytime you hook up electronics.
What makes people do rock lights than led bars that follow the frame ?
I think most people want to have that “glow” look as allowed to a flood light/spotlight look. LED bars tend to have less of a 360 light dispersion also. I think it just depends on what look you are going for.

Yes, you will need to get the extensions.
How about keeping lights on while truck is off and don't drain battery?
Keeping the lights on would definitely drain the battery over time.

There is a nice little spot right behind the battery, can’t miss it. Almost looks like it was made for it.

How many extensions did you use on this install?
2 extensions.
How did you manage to get the 4 lights in the back to reach the control box? My truck is also a quad cab and there’s no way in hell the back lights will reach the control box under the hood
You need two extension cables to reach. Here is a link for them. I had the same issue.

I live in Texas law prohibits that if the lights are emergency colored the led diode bulb cannot be in visible sight of other drivers, cool to have but gotta hide them pretty good
So... don't use red or blue while driving.
