I think it’s an EQD Rainbow Machine or another delay with some overdrive. You can get that slight slap back sound out of the Rainbow Machine with the first and secondary controls at about 1 O’Clock, the pitch control just ever so slightly past noon, and the magic switch on with its knob up around 9 or 10. You can also use almost any delay, set the time real fast and the repeats really low with modulation depth high and rate really low. Boss PS-2 is great for this sound as well.
@@radiogra7 I think youre right about the delay, you can hear the guy in this video do it and it sounds similar (to my ears). th-cam.com/video/XZCuIKPKhaM/w-d-xo.html
it's actually a stereo memory man with hazarai on its weird multi tap mode where you can make ensuing repeats increase in volume, but it's essentially a reverse reverb
@@drew9138 I think he’s playing super fast 16th triplets but leading with his off hand so it can land on the down beat for the snare hit. The hi hat is then on the off beats and every of Off beat right before the down beat he accents it. This song is easily the hardest on the album. I can play all the others fine, even years ago. But this song is insanely hard with it’s hi-hat, foot work.
@@apothecurio That makes quite a bit of sense now that you describe it. That kind of rhythm must take a ton of coordination training, since as righties it totally goes against what feels natural at that speed (I'm assuming you're also a righty) -- not even to mention getting the dynamics right!
@@drew9138 yeah. I’m trying to play lefty on the righty kit to increase I dependence. I highly recommend playing king Gizzard’s Polygondwanaland open handed on a righty kit. It’s helped a lot.
That repeating bass and drum beat around 1:08 is GOATed
Literallyyyyy
Dude that’s why I looked up this video this time wanted to hear it real quick
My favourite from the album, it displays all their strengths in one song.
Same.
yeah this song kicks ass. i'd love to see them play it live. perfect bassline for cameron to do his jig
Mine too
2:17 MATTS SMILE THERE IS THE CUTEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN AAAA
He looks like a drug addict john mayer
He smiles because he breaks a string. Literally that face means "Well... shit :)". Amazing save, and amazing performance anyways
1:21 this tone is so fucking good. probably just some simple overdrive thing but it's so pleasing.

It's not down to any pedal / setting, it's all owed to his playing style. The angle he's hitting the strings etc

It's a mod delay with the repeats down, source audio nemesis
I dream of a woman with the teeth of a raven and the hands of a porcupine.
2:00 is just pure bliss
right
checking in for my weekly listening
Still their funkiest song. My favorite.
Still one of my favourite songs

3:55 i miss Matt so much
Did he leave?
@@ethancox3953 yeah I think he might be on like 1 or 2 songs on cavalcade but other than that he’s been out since schalg
i miss them all. black midi was kil.
Anyone know what kind of pedal gets that effect on geordies guitar at the beginning? Super rad.
c lovely thank you 😊

Está canción es un puro delirio, es excelente, rítmicamente complejísima y la performance de Geordie es una cosa de locos
That drummer always pins the the feck down!
oh nananana nana hey na
Menuda pasada
Todo Schlagenheim lo es
Great i love
increible, el feedback del de la guitarra roja es buenisimo, esta version me gusta mas q la del album
Moco grande
I have no idea what the hell that drummer is doing with his hi-hat and snare when the bass has that stutter effect
Yeah, I know. I've slowed down the drum stem to try and learn it and still have no clue what the pattern is supposed to be

Rainbow Machine (L)
this is much better than the album version, in my opinion
but how
@@Mister_Myr I don't know what it is but I like this version better
Yeah I guess I just don't get it.
