I love you all and the channel BUT..... SurfShark is a horrible company.
Surfshark pulls sponsorship of news outlet over tweet
Virtual private network (VPN) provider Surfshark announced that it has pulled its sponsorship of independent media outlet The Post Millennial after its editor-at-large Andy Ngo was targeted with what he describes as a “hoax orchestrated by a white man to silence a gay journalist of color who dared to report on the man’s restraining order.”

Just a FYI to people who do not know Using a VPN will lower your speeds down so make sure you have some pretty good highspeeds if you are looking to game, stream, download and unload.

Thank you for sharing another great video that reminded me of the time my 68 VW Baja Bug died along the road. My Dad came with his Square body C30 & we used some really big rope to tie the tube bumper on the Bug to his extended trailer hitch (it was perfect for the turns). It towed like a dream other than my Dad going 65mph & me having a death grip on the Bug steering wheel while helping turn in the corners. Nothing better than great memories with Dad!

Wish I wasn’t old, my memory has faded a little. That’s a Holmes, 480 Hydraulic, or a 600 Hydraulic, I think. Body and twin winch built in Newbern, TN, or built in Ooltewah, TN. I left Dover Corporation in 1978, Dover owned the Ernest-Holmes name until mid 80’s. After Dover sold to Challenger, manufacturing was moved to Ooltewah. Miller Industries in Ooltewah probably still has parts available.

That towing job reminded me of a trip a buddy of mine and I did back in the early 80's. He had a Mercury Comet sitting in Bountiful Utah at his mother's place. We towed it with a chain behind a hopped up 56 Chevy stepside pickup to Sheridan Montana. The Comet had no engine, but still overwhelmed the brakes going down Malad Hill. He did not see me waving to go faster, until I pulled along side. LOL We had a wheel bearing go out near Blackfoot Idaho, and a guy let us use one of his bays to work on it. We could not get the race off, so I smoothed it out with emery cloth, and finished our trip. That sanding job must have worked, as it held as long as he still had it.

A steel pipe with a chain bent in half and run down until a loop pops out, then you put the loop over a ball hitch and choke up the pipe. Then wrap the chain around the torsion bar/solid bumper. It will keep them farther away, and more directly connected. I call it a “drag link”.

I alway thought it'd be sweet to put the holmes wrecker without the heavy steel body on the back of a medium duty square body but use the box sides so it looks great.. kinda get to watch some one do it here thats kinda awesome..

Brinigs back lots of memories. My uncles were truckers and I was a hotrodder in the making. First learn to drive sitting in my dad's lap in his 57 210 Chevy and then got into high cotton with a 64 Bel Air. My uncles always stayed with Ford's and had a fair amount of problem. I started trucking as a teen(nobody cared back then. I first started when I was 14 and got a license but a small town and the DPS knew the score so I drove various bobtail's and Chevy 50's and 60's and got my real license when I was 18, courtesy of the HIghway Dept. Now I was a REAL trucker although I didn't gain anything driving those old Dodge's they had. Next think I know I quit college, go off to the oil patch and illegally helped him drive a big Freightliner with a 318 with a 15 speed(5 of those non road gears). I helped him hauling No2 and we'd make repairs with a welder to restore the steel line used to pump nitrogen. Went back to college briefly but got lucky on the draw for the draft.
That was when I really started trucking hauling just about everything. My uncle just grinned and told me where to take a load. I learned to operate all sorts of dumps, flatbeds and everything else you could imagine including winch trucks. I'll never forget when another driver broke the crank on a 400 Cummins on a Freightliner. I had to go help my uncle drag it back 100 miles with his half ton Ford. He got us going too fast down a hill(I'd have been more scared that I was if I'd had half a brain) but when that big Freightliner passed him and he was turned backward and I drug him along side me, we were both mighty grateful to be alive. We made it home ok and we just both grinned and shook and were glad to be alive.
The last guy I drove for wanted to pull me in a big Binder with a double dump truck, a really big sumgun. I told him I'd think twice about pulling me with a 3/4 Duramax and told him how I'd drug my ancle down the road 50 years before. He saw the obvious things that could happen after that and I was pulled 50 miles with another big rig. I had a running engine so I had brakes but the old man wasn't that good at slowing down slowly. WE made it in and I was glad to get out of it. A cou ple days later the owner got it to start off in 6ths with that big Detroit and I didn't run over him. He didn't say a thing since it seemed to be his idea. I saved his ass a few times. Got my fill of that after about 8 months running that same double dump trailer and a 9 speed Binder I wasn't too proud of. Anyway. Been there, done that and more.

Question is... what are you going to do with the rest of that classic medium duty chevy after ya gut it? A guy up in the rust belt is definitely interested!

Perhaps Matt could use the Cab of that yellow tow truck if you don't need it later? Looking forward to the progress on this project.
