Hi Alan, Brand new subscriber from across the pond in Massachusetts. Love seeing your 45 rpm collection and posts. These beautiful "plastic gems" as I call them, never get enough recognition or videos, yet they are how most of us of a "certain age" were introduced to music and records. It certainly is how I was. Grew up on 45s and top 40 AM radio in the 60s/70s, then eventually into FM radio in the mid 70s. I have a collection today of around 10k 45s, and just spend hours going through them and listening to them. Keep the 45 videos coming-they're brilliant!
Hi, Jeffrey. I can not understand why most VC people don't collect them. It is baffling. 45 videos always get half the number of views. If I showed Beatles albums every video, I would probably have a million subs by now! 10,000 45s is a massive number - you need to start making videos!
Ace video Alan, your collection is fantastic. Love that you highlighted "My New Day and Age", such a great track as is "Yellow Brick Road". I love those psych B-sides chart acts snuck onto their singles, like Wayne Fontana's "Waiting for a Break in the Clouds", the Tremeloes' "Suddenly Winter" and Dave Dee and co's "The Sun Goes Down".
Hi Huw. Thanks. I thought I would show a few. Yes, so often the B side is the winner. I have shown The Sun Goes Down before. A marvellous track. I have never come across a copy of that Wayne Fontana classic, though. One day... one day....
Hi Alan. You've definitely done what it said on the title and shown some groovy/fab/gear 45s ... Nazz 'Open My Eyes' is a favourite of mine, although I've only got it on a CD. Same applies to 'Defecting Grey' (I don't think it even made the UK Top 75; a travesty) ... I'll be 'singing' a mangled version of 'Making Time' for the rest of the day ... 'A pocket wonder' is a great phrase.
Thanks, Carl. Yes, these are classics, one and all. I started buying a lot of these after getting into Nuggets and Pebbles many moons ago. There are a few I would love to still get my hands on, but prices have gone through the roof. Zakary Thaks' Bad Girl is near the top of the list...
I can't afford a yacht, but I am looking forward to the 1st issue of 240 of 'Build Your Own Neanderthal Coracle'. Of course, I'll make sure I don't get the glue anywhere near the sofa.
@@statictraveller I'd suggest cutting up the offensive sofa and using the parts to make one. You might find a duck with a sophisticated aesthetic quacks in your general direction if you did eventually find yourself paddling down the River Dee looking like a village who had lost a member!
Cheers, Chris. I really appreciate it. I have still been watching all the VC offerings, including your latest hugely successful punk videos! (Which were great, by the way). I haven't been feeling like making any of late for a number of reasons that I won't bore you with right now. I suppose I could save that pleasure for my next big yet another phoenix from the flames live after death bat out of hell comeback video...😉
@@statictraveller Great to hear from you my friend. Can’t believe the interest in the punk 45s. Took me rather by surprise tbh. Look forward to seeing you again sometime. Cheers fella, Chris
I have that Whalefeathers 45. I've never seen anyone show it.
Groovy!! Fab!!!
You are a man of impeccable taste, Ed.
Beautiful lovely 45s. Gorgeous. Thanks for sharing these little fellas.
Thanks, Chris. Always a pleasure.
Wow! No dust in these grooves 🤘🏻👏🏻🙌🏻
And no flies on you, either!
@@statictraveller awwwwww ☺️
Great stack of 45s, I don't care if you did show this stuff before, enjoyed seeing it again. 👍
I could watch 45s videos all day long. Repeats and all.
Groovy and fab pulled me in 🎶🙏🏻hi ya Alan👋🏻😎✊🏻
Hello Lis. 🕺💃
Some great 45’s. There always fun to see. How are the boys? Tell them hello for me. Take care
Cheers, Art. The boys are fine and say hello.
The Eagle Never Hunts the Fly after laying a Little Black Egg......AM I DEAD?...AM I IN HEAVEN??....100% GOBSMACKERS Alan !!!!!!
Thanks for the inspiration, David. 😊
@@statictraveller et tu Brutus!
Great video Alan, you’re quite right to show records again as not everyone has seen these from years back. Quality 👍
Thanks, Peter. I suppose it can't do any harm. After all, it's not The Beatles, which seem to pop up every day in one video or another...
Alan, some great records there as usual - I've just listened to most of them, superb! Probably cost a fortune, I'd better hunt those truffles!
Apparently, spaniels and labradors are pretty good at it. If I were you, I'd get down to the nearest dog shelter and start training pronto.
@@statictraveller My daughter has a Golden Retriever so I may try it in the local woods!

Cool to see that Brazil issue 45.
Yes, not the sort of record that shows up over here very often.

Dig the labels, dig Ides of and Pretty Things
I never tire of them...
A cream sofa? Ideal to listen to Eric Clapton vinyls at 16rpm whilst perusing the latest copy of Yacht monthly!

I'm with the Garage Rock King Garner and want to actually say something normal, like these were all absolute bangers!
And I will respond with a very normal, "Cheers, Ben."
@@statictraveller Somehow by us both trying to be normal it made it weirder 🤔
how re things?!you uploaded good -

Suit you Sir. Seven inches. Seems odd to think these psych 2-3 minutes long are more akin to punk than ploddy psych and prog that developed later.
Yes, a lot of garage bands were basically 60s punks. Snotty teens with attitude. Nothing changes....
