I have this installed in my Lexus LS400. Would I need to wire up the parking brake wire (light green) along with the purple/white wire in order to get the reverse camera to come on or can I skip wiring up the parking brake wire?
Pioneer in-dash receivers are designed to work with the Pioneer ND-BC8 backup camera. I don’t know about the operation of other cameras.
Be sure to plug the Brown camera output RCA into the Brown RCA Input on the back of the Pioneer in dash receiver.
The Pioneer ND-BC8 camera needs power and ground to operate. The camera should always have power when the vehicle is switched on. And the camera should power off when the vehicle is switched off. This is very similar to the way the Red Accessory wire works on a Pioneer in-dash receiver. Just because the camera has power does not mean you are viewing the camera window on the in-dash receiver.
The receiver’s violet/white wire is used to let the in-dash receiver know that the vehicle is in it’s reverse gear and, to automatically open the backup camera window on the receiver screen.
Do not connect the violet/White wire to the camera.
When you put the vehicle in it’s reverse gear, the violet/White wire should sense a change in voltage. This automatically opens the camera window on the in-dash receiver. And closes the camera window, when the vehicle is taken out of it’s reverse gear. One possibly connection for the violet/White Reverse Gear wire is the vehicle’s backup lamp terminal.
I strongly recommend wiring the Green Parking Brake Wire.

It's been professionally installed in my 2015 F150 for about 3 months. It has some very serious quirks. While I like the dual BT to accommodate personal and company phone hands free,...... when its plugged into an Android Auto phone, it seems to scramble, and mute/disable any buttons on the radio and the phone. I have to unplug the USB-C and dump Android Auto on the phone to hear a phone call. This model has a problem. I registered the SN with Pioneer when I bought it thru Crutchfield. Both have been helpful, but Pioneer seems to be abandoning this product support.

greetings I install my pioneer MVH 2400 nex micarro and I can not open apple carplay. I get the option to shut but I can connect to carplay
Please check the CarPlay settings on the iPhone. Is Apple CarPlay enabled on the iPhone? Please see this video about Apple CarPlay on Pioneer AVH-2300NEX very similar operation to MVH-2400NEX: th-cam.com/video/_P3_aPDLK2E/w-d-xo.html If this trouble continues, I recommend to try a new USB cable to connect your iPhone directly to the in-dash receiver. is there a difference between the mvh2300 vs mvh2400 nex?
The difference is in the back up camera settings and parking guidelines. Other than that they are the same. Is this 2400 worth buying today?
Yes. As of 2021 June the Pioneer MVH-2400NEX is a great product for use with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both of these systems will require a wired connection to your phone through USB. If your phone is up to date, you'll get the latest versions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on screen. This will also charge the phone when connected. I’m buying a vehicle with this unit but it doesn’t have the remote. Is there a way to get another remote?

In Pioneer's model numbers for 2020, the AVH prefix designates a screen with a CD/DVD player. DMH, and MVH do not play CD/DVD. Is the USB port capable of supporting more than one device at a time? I'd like to place a USB hub in my vehicle in order to accommodate a solid state HDD, a USB drive or card reader along with a phone. Also, is the Android Auto connectivity wired or wireless? Thanks!

How long is the chassis? Are these Double DIN receivers ever going to get a short chassis design, like the MVH-X380BT models did? Is it even possible to do that?

Deckerd Otto I appreciate the information. Technology is moving forward all the time, so I look forward to the time when the Double DINs without CD Players have a shorter chassis. I currently have a 1330NEX, and I love it, but it was tough getting it installed in my truck.
Can I use apple 3rd party apps through wireless connection pls advise
MVH-2400NEX does not have a wireless connection for Apple CarPlay. Wired connection only on MVH-2400NEX. I purchased the avh 600 and I'm experiencing some serious Bluetooth audio lag when connected to an iPhone. I called pioneer and they told me they are aware of the issue with the model I purchased but have no fix for it. Suggested I use aux for audio... Does this 2400 have any issues regarding Bluetooth audio delay?
When watching videos on your phone while you are driving you will experience the same Bluetooth performance. Apple Carplay is available in MVH-2400NEX and other Pioneer models including wireless versions. @@deckerdotto6035 the Audio from the AVH 600 had an Audio delay when the car was parked . I just ordered this 2400 model and sending back the 600 . In this video, you mention the wireless remote control being included, but in someone else's review they mention it's not included in this 2400 version, just he 2440? Is this info wrong?
MVH-2400NEX includes a remote control in the box just as it is shown in the video above. AVH-2400NEX does not include a remote control. AVH-2440NEX includes a remote control.
What’s the difference between avh and mvh
Pioneer models that begin with the letters MVH do not have a CD/DVD player built in. Videos can be played from USB and AV input. If you don't own any CD's or DVD's, you may not want to own a CD player? All other operations are the same as other similar models.
