@@TimelessTabletopGaming $25 … I was startled when I saw the eBay prices today. But that’s how flea markets at small cons go; occasional amazing bargains.
@@robertdean52 $25!!! Wow, that's an amazing deal. I would buy any vintage, boxed GW game at that sort of money. But maybe that's just hoarder in me talking...
As you've identified, brighter and bolder is better at 10mm. Still I tend to do the same as you and go for plain wooden shields, especially for goblins or WH skeletons. Might have to make myself a set of rivers, they look great even with the issues. Never been too happy with the card ones in the BoFA box.
@nagashthegod The rivers were surprisingly simple to make. I put the link for the water tutorial in the description. I probably wouldn't use cork as a base if I did them again though. I've heard vinyl floor tiles can be a good option. The trouble with 10mm scale is, you want to make it as thin/flat as possible otherwise the banks of the river end being taller than the minis.
Yes, that's been my issue with looking at alternatives. I picked up a set of the Warlord rivers when I dipped into their new Napoleonics and even the few mm depth of wood the river is mounted on is a bit too high to look right. I suppose that will always be an issue when the river should be inset below the level of the land. So oversized levees it is for now.
@@nagashthegod The Epic warlord stuff looks fantastic. I've been tempted to get some of myself. And yes, the only really good looking rivers are the ones that are set into the board. There's always a trade off between versatility, practicality and aesthetics though I suppose.
Cool well done thats a big task painting that box set
Very nice! I’m almost sorry that I didn’t snag a copy at the flea market (minus the hill modules) at our recent local convention…
Ooh, how much was it going for, out of interest? Battle of Five Armies stuff can be very expensive in the UK now.

If you want to "unwarp" your river parts, just glue some paper with PVA glue on the other side. ;-)
