It helped with my withdrawals from opoids that I had a 20 year addiction from. Wouldn't use it more, than 2 weeks though. But it definitely helped for the first 2 weeks of withdrawals and I was a bit dubeous to begin with, I'm very hard to convince and not easily led but thought I'd try it. Kratom is a nice alternative to Alcohol and drugs. It won't expand your mind, or make your forget. It won't solve severe pain. What it does, it help elevate your mood without the room spinning. Kratom will ease minor pains that are related to fatigue and inflammation. Most places that sell it are laid back, social, and will help with stress. In real theory, this is a nice therapy to use occasionally. Know your potentiators, know your limits, know what works for you, and don't forget to take time off of any therapy. These are not meant to be done in high doses for the rest of your life.

As soon as I quite and begin to feel better my brain switches back to "I seem to be much better now so why not smoke a good cigar", as soon as I do that I am right back to where I started. As I have gotten older I struggle with restless leg syndrome to the point it is almost unbearable. Kratom is highly addictive. I took it everyday for several years. At my most addicted I was taking 25-35 grams a day. I admit it was very useful at first, after a while I only took it because I needed to take it to feel like I was normal. Sure it helps with anxiety and helps you relax, but only because if you don’t take it, it creates anxiety. At first I had a ton of energy and it was euphoric. It took me several weeks just to taper off. Now that I’ve been off it for several weeks, my anxiety is gone, my appetite is back up, overall I feel better than when I was taking it. My suggestion to anyone who wants to try it, stay away!

Stay far away please!! Your withdrawal will only be prolonged and you will be coming off whatever it was you were on plus the kratom. Very interesting unbiased talk. Thank you. I want to add that unfortunatly Kratom is the only substance that relieved my social anxiety completly. I am a different person since i started. Means i am the person i wanted to be for 28 years of my life. I have friends and for the first time a real social life. That means no depression anymore for over 4 years and ongoing. You can't imagine what a relieve this is to me. I managed to stay at a very low dosage for 5 years. Between 4 and 5 grams per day. But i have to admit that Kratom induces from time to time short periods of anxiety and its hard to stay hydrated. Especially when taken on an empty stomache it can trigger an hour long anxiety attack which can be stopped by eating something. Also it can be pretty hard to sleep when taken too late in the evening which can lead to insomnia periods. If there would be something else which could replace Kratom i would stop immediately. But at least for me there is no substance or lifestyle that can replace Kratom. I did therapy, I do fitness, i meditate i try to eat well but only Kratom let me flourish in social environments.

@@leonidtodorovski635 Man the first month was great. I talked to everybody and i was full of energy. But it doesn't stay that way forever. Its only my opinion, but i would not increase the dosage. It can really fuck you up. Not immediately, but over time. Kratom works very well for 2 to 3 years. After that time you loose the drive and euphoria almost completly if you don't counteract this. Many increase their dosage to get the euphoria back. 30, 40 grams and more. In my opionion thats horrific. Better to take breaks from time to time. In my case it turned against me for some time. It made me unsocial and it gave me anxiety (like if you have too low sugar in the blood feeling) and jointaches. I think the constant dehydration Kratom gives you (i have to pee all the time.) flushes Electrolytes, minerals and Vitamins out of your body. like magnesium, calium/potassium, vit B1 / B12. (lack of magnesium = legpain in my case.) In the winter a lack of Vit D is even more noticable when using Kratom. Also i have almost no sex drive. Which leads me to the conclusion that its also fucks up the hormones after long usage. Like the thyroid (hypothyroidism) and maybe the testosteron. All that leads me to the conclusion that its better to use small doses. Just think about it. The pure energy you feel for 4 to 6 hours must come with a cost when taken daily. ;) Just want to be honest. BUT it also changed my relation with my body. I care more for healthy food and testing my blood to give my body what it needs. And it gave me the motivation to work on my body for the first time since my late twenties. To answer your testosterone question: I really don't know if your testosterone will be fucked up. But its likely. I know unhealthy people who took kratom and it definitely lowered their testo. (After stopping it went up immediately) And i know other who care for food and supplements who had only a bit lower testosterone. I think the point is that you have to replace the flushed out minerals. Like zink and so on. When doing that i think you can possibly manage your testosteron level. Hope that helps a bit. But again i am no expert.

@@malissamorgan1791 Hi Malissa sorry for the late reply I just saw this. I have successfully been off of kratom now since last commenting. I feel like kratom was my crutch for social anxiety, but once you get used to the amount you are taking in, it really feels like you are at base again in regards to the kratom buzz. Thing is, once you stop using it you realize how much you depended on it. For me, it was about 1-2 weeks of physical unease, drowsiness, and high anxiety levels. Best thing to do is replace that habit with something that gets your blood flowing like weights, walking, whatever. It doesn’t have to be much but it really helps. After those two weeks, I felt way better. I feel lighter and have more energy. As far as the anxiety goes, I have learned better ways of dealing with it ex. taking time to focus on breathing. It sounds simple but it has really helped. Anxiety seems for me like something that can’t fully be fixed, but it gets easier to deal with when you are very intentional about how you deal with it.

Regarding the argument that kratom is just another opioid in the crisis that we're dealing with, I think it should rather be regarded as a tool to get out of this crisis. Unlike most of the street or even prescription opioids that people are dealing with, kratom is very difficult to overdose on and it's also a lot less addictive. That makes it almost the perfect tool for dealing with a withdrawal from one of those other drugs. Also regarding the "it hasn't been properly studied" argument, there's a reason it hasn't been studied, because the pharmaceutical industry doesn't want it to produce positive results. They've done plenty of studies on its negative affects, poison control center call analysis, checking each brand to see how many heavy metals are in it, etc. But gosh darn it, they just haven't gotten around to testing its efficacy yet. That's the game they play. They never study it, then use that lack of study as an argument for why it's useless, all the while grasping at straws to point out or exaggerate every negative element of the plant.

Thank you for being impartial and just giving the facts. Kratom is very villainized by news corporations because of the pharmaceutical industry and it's relieving to see a doctor be unbiased and not have an ulterior motive when it comes to this subject. I have mild ADHD and depression. I hated taking the medicines they gave me because the side effects were causing more problems than the benefits I was gaining. I was prescribed Adderall and it worked, but I knew I would get addicted to it and that it was not good for me despite what my doc was telling me. My friend told me to try Kratom and it changed my life. I can live life with it, and I was able to complete my Master's degree thanks to it.

Direct to all of the points needed to be made, from someone that clearly has a background in medicine and how compounds work in the body. This is the information you need to make an informed decision. These are the risks, this is what’s in it, how/where it works in your body, what to watch for if you should decide to try it, and don’t over do it. Pretty simple. If this stuff were wrecking lives, killing people, making people sell their kids for the stuff, there’s zero chance that any government would allow it to remain legal in any capacity. Moderation is the key, the law of diminishing returns, as always, applies here as well. Be smart, be safe 😎🍻

20 year ago, I was told I would probably not be able to walk in 10 years without surgery that would leave me in considerable pain. I was nearing a point of daily opiate use. I was a drug abuse counselor, living out a story I'd heard about a thousand times. I knew where the road lead. For the past 10 years I have used kratom and physical therapy to remain upright, mobile, and off of opiates. Surgical techniques have improved considerably, so it is much less threatening, should I need it. I'm relatively healthy for my age. With the help of meds for blood pressure, and a low dose statin, statin, my blood work comes back within normal limits every 6 months. Not bad for 72 yo. Today's climate within the medical community toward opiates would have made it impossible for me to remain pain free. I would have been on street drugs without kratom.

You are the person I'm looking for,I too have had six major spinal surgeries and am in constant pain. I have lots of metal in my spine due to a car accident that in reality should have taken my life......some times I think I would have been better off than dealing with the amount of pain daily whilst trying to be a parent. Although I'm very grateful to have the chance to raise my children there's still many days that question why..... I live on pain meds just to function in the slightest way but opioids are a monster of their own. From fentanyl patches in upwards of 100 micrograms and 4mg of dilaudid 4 times daily. I have taken myself off of the fentanyl of course with the help of my pain doctors to now only taking 4 mg of dilaudid 3 times a day. I have nerves burned regularly to help with pain and injections scheduled. I do my best to use the least amount possible but to no avail my pain s definitely not controlled when not on the fentanyl as a long term pain management but I didn't like the feeling of it after being on it for so many years. My accident was in 2007 and started the fentanyl patch and stopped it in 2017. My PM doctor suggested pot as an alternative to increasing my dilaudid back to 4 times daily. Wisconsin pot is not legal yet not is kratom......I just want a little life back not something to get a high from so this was something I'm currently researching and could really use someone who is taking it for serious pain issues. I also have bipolar, ocd and anxiety so I'm always afraid of trying out new natural treatments. If you find time and would be will to get back to me here or via email I would definitely appreciate it. Maybe just a little information could go a long way. Thanks

@@pattypierce2772 hi patty .. I total understand and relate to what you’re going thru and dealing with. Pain and spine that’s degenerating keeps me in pain 24/7 also. The pain meds help to cope with the pain but that’s like putting a band aid on a long term problem. I’ve had a few pain doctors forced out of their practice as the DEA is cracking down on the opioid epidemic and I know there will come a time where getting any pain meds will be near impossible. That’s why the pain clinics are pushing ppl to get on Suboxone as the new “wonder drug” which is now also facing class action lawsuits because it’s as addictive as opiates (maybe more so) and it’s causing ppl to lose their teeth. I could go on and on about all this but I’m sure you’ve been hearing about it all as much as I have. So… let’s talk Kratom.. first Kratom is NOT an opiate as some ppl including so called doctors try to claim it is. It’s apart of the coffee plant family. It does work on opiate receptors in your brain but is not anywhere close to the strength of actual opiate meds. What it can do is help wheen you off opiates if your having to stop taking them but I’d say it stops about 60% of withdrawals but not entirely all of it. What I’ve found is that it’s best used as something that can calm anxiety very well. It simply helps to relax you. There are three main strains of Kratom. Red vein, white vein and Green vein. Red is what I take or Red Bali as it does help with withdrawals and is very calming. Green & white vein helps also with withdrawals but these tend to give you some energy like strong coffee would do. Does it help with pain? Yeah some and slightly if the pain is mild. But for what you and I are dealing with Kratom won’t touch that level of pain.
