I'm sure touchscreens in cars will be outlawed some day. The fact you have to take your eyes off the road with this thing is dangerous especially when you have to go through several menus to get what you want.
It’s madness isn’t it? I wonder why using the touchscreen you already own is dangerous and punishable under the law but using a touchscreen provided at an additional cost to you by a massive corporate manufacturing entity is absolutely fine and dandy. Especially when these in car screens are never as good/responsive/familiar as the one on your phone.
It does seem unsafe, but the ship has well and truly sailed unfortunately.
They've been around a while now and as far as I'm aware haven't been to blame for any major accidents to date.
@@jamestaleporos9794 Maybe so, but they aren't around in great numbers yet. Time will tell.
Already a law that bans a TV/Video player from able to be viewed from the driving seat, just needs an amendment to the wording.
Give me knobs n switches all day long ...........I'm just old now
I have the standard range SE. I set the car for TJA (traffic jam assist), it retains this setting and just drive the car without enabling it from the srearing wheel controls. The only setting I might change before starting off is the heating. Hot weather aircon on. Cold weather heater. This can be turned on and off from a physical switch and temperature/blower adjusted from the steering wheel controls. The LFP battery, 50 kWh, gives me an urban non motorway range in the summer of 200 miles plus, does not burst into flames when things go wrong unlike the NCM batteries and can be fully charged as often as you want matching the capacity of an 80% charged long range battery. Its fast, handles well and is quiet. That's my assessment after 8 months ownership. Thanks for the video with your usual enthusiasm, I do love them.
Right sort of money. Touch screens need to go from all cars. You can't use your phone but you can spend ages faffing about to adjust you heater on a screen. Nuts. Good video Matt.
Love the review Matt. My other half has a 4 which we’ve loved for the 3 months we’ve had it. Already done over 5k miles in it! The lane assist is a main gripe for us, but we put up with it since we like the car so much. Has certainly helped keep the rest of my MGs on the road.
Too bad dashboard design is non existent these days, just a shelf with a couple of screens. Outside it looks pretty decent, not an ugly car. And very good priced. Good review Matt!
On batteries: the Standard Range uses an LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery, which is actually NEWER technology than the Long Range's NMC (lithium nickel manganese cobalt) battery - not the other way round. It's cheaper technology, but offers less range - though it makes up for this by being significantly more robust and long-lived than its NMC size-equivalent.
I agree these drive extremely well, MG have now brought back the X Power brand and the MG4 X Power is 0-60 in less than 4 seconds! and look great in metallic grey.
I’ve had mine a month now and they’ve made some changes for 2023, the rear view mirror, middle head restraint and some features that stay in and don’t need changing every time you use it. Mine is the dark grey metallic Trophy and the little changes through this year is good. Love driving it and I’m so happy with it too. If you’re ever in Lincolnshire you’re more than welcome to review 🤣
I do like what MG is doing. They really are sticking two fingers up to the Teslas of this World and serve them bloody well right.
I've an MG EV and a Tesla Model 3 LR .Completely different cars for completely different demographics.
Both excellent cars in their own rights.
The Tesla is still the better car, that's just a fact even when the price differential is taken into account.
The best of both Worlds! 😉
@@PaddyWV hmm, something like that.
You are kidding right , the mg is bloody awful and god help you when it goes wrong.
I thought two of steering wheel buttons are programmable, so you can make them change radio, or heater fan speed. etc.
So many early reviewers of this car didn't know this.
Theres been a couple of updates I've noticed on newer MG4s, they now come with a rear wiper, one pedal driving and you can map the drive modes to a button on the steering wheel. There may be others but not driven a new one yet, although I am doing a test drive of the new X-Power hot hatch version in a few days! That one is great value at 36,495 for a four wheel drive 435ps (600nm torque) 0-60 in 3.6 seconds car! :)
Yeah you are right. The phase 2 MG4 also has a centre rear headrest and passenger ohshit handles.
Well needed upgrades..surprised the press fleet dont have that!
@@furiousdriving must be old stock?!! :)
@@furiousdrivingalso read that the new software update includes driver accounts, so settings don’t return to default when you turn it off
I saw your video pop up and rushed to grab a coffee, which reminds me i must order a FD mug, and put on my welding mask and gloves....
Now I look a bit daft sitting outside the supermarket and they weren't needed for once!
11:05 They're actually learning and adapting better than, say, VW because after they came out with the XPower version, that and all MG4s after have a rear wiper now.
have been considering one of these for the wife's car she generally only travels 40 miles a day back and forth to work if we go long-range we use my mk5 diesel mondeo estate. Trying to tempt her with the new xpower variant haha
You really should!
@furiousdriving hopefully they nail the new cybersters driving feel as it could be a very good seller to the mx5 crowd
Good review with plenty of stuff to think about. I suppose it's too much to ask for the programmable buttons on the steering-wheel to control the lane-keep "assist"? Thought so... Is the indicator noise as loud as it seemed?
yes , in white it does look like a chest freezer .. and i don't know anybody who likes touch-screens & menu's for everything
It's a great car, 7 year warranty too. Worth mentioning Renault want 9-12k more for a Mégane etech that they've just knocked down from a 5 year warranty to 3. Bizarre, shows no faith in their own rip off product.
No wonder MG are battering the competition.
It was high praise when you said it was the best EV you have driven. I know you were very impressed on that track day when you were driving a lot of models back to back. I think I would have to go for the Trophy to get the heated sears and a reversing camera as rear visibility is so limited. Hard act to follow for other manufacturers….
XPower trim. Come on... Do it! That thing is so unecssary fast with the price. It makes blood rushing to my head by even thinking about it. 😂 If god forbid the XPower land in Canada, I will likely place an order without even discussion with my family. Lol
Both batteries are a Lithium chemistry, but have different Anodes. One is the Lithium Iron Phosphate, the other is the Lithium Nickle Manganese Cobalt. Both chemistries have been around for 20 years or so.
Another excellent Review Matt, I really enjoyed driving the one i reviewed at the tail end of last year. For me it would have to be the trophy model in the orange.
Its up there as a replacement for my wifes Skoda Fabia.
they are one of the best handling and most fun TVs on the market, would love to try the Trophy, that looks amazing
@@furiousdriving I've been trying all morning to try and balance on my flat screen Samsung and push it around the room.
Next year MG expect to sell globally over twenty times more cars than were sold in the last full production year of MG Rover. They must be doing something right.
selling globally helps, which MGR didnt manage!
Can you use a granny charger on a 13A socket? Great for defeating the smartmeter disabling charging on windless days.
Can turn lane keep assist off on my hs by using the end of the indicator stalk
Lane assist would do my head in but I do like the car Matt , yes has it’s annoying faults but I’ve yet to find a car that doesn’t, nice review Matt as always , fair & informative and now just have to find £30,000 😁👌🏻.
Lane assist on narrow and winding roads can indeed be a bit of a pain. But you usually have the choice of turning it off, though it'll come back on the next time you get in the car, so you then have to turn it back off again.
Hi Mathew I think I will wait for the new VW ID2 which is rumoured to be less than £25,000 when it’s introduced in 2026.
Electric ars do not have a gear selector they have drive selectors. You pick whether you want to go in reverse or forward or put the car in Neutral.
I seem to remember when I looked at one ( before buying a used kona ev ) there were two programmable buttons on the steering wheel. Also surely the air con shouldn’t need changing while driving. There should be enough buttons to keep most of us happy. Other than that I really enjoyed the video. I still think it’s a shame you can’t add things such as rear camera to the base model. Without a rear wiper that would be really useful.
If you can't see through the rear window, the rear-view camera would be at least as compromised. Having said that, reversing cameras on all these modern hatches with limited rear vision should be mandatory...
@@dogsbodyish8403 I agree that with limited vision it should be standard. On my Kona I can use the camera when driving normally to have a normal view rearward (not the wide angle view). My previous Golf had a camera that only flipped out when reversing so didn’t get covered in dirt or raindrops, a much better solution.
My son has had the use of a MG4 in his job as a risk assessor. He can get his team in it with their kit in the back! (Unfortunately his Company has returned it, and he is having to use a BMW hybrid instead...)
Lane keep is easily disabled in the menu's, as for the touchscreen use Android auto and voice commands, works a treat in my MG ZS
You can assign most things to buttons on the steering wheel, the choice is yours, hardly have to use the screen.
What do the buttons on steering wheel do...? Just raido change and volume... Cruise control?
cruise control as you said plus if you want 360 camera, air conditioning, drive mode select plus others. the star button can be changed to different things.
Lane assist is off when I select Custom. I have to switch it on if I want it - which I don't.
It does seem like a sensible option although for most perhaps the lighter version with shorter range might be fine and perhaps even more fun to drive? I do seriously wonder about all these screens on any make - will you be able to easily get replacements in 10 years time and who will have the gear to program them to a specific car?
Don't worry... You have 7 year Chinese Warranty 🤣 probably not worth the paper it's written on 🤔
Seriously though, you have a point. In this throw away world these have built-in obsolescence like an old washing machine, the repairs would cost more than it's worth at 10 years old... am I being cynical 😏
It is a cheap Android tablet. If they are failing in significant numbers an aftermarket solution is bound to become available.
And now you can get for extra 10k the XPower version 4WD and does less than 3 seconds 0 to 60 being even faster than a Audi Etron Gt
Did u use the tea shelf?
Happy 50th birthday Quartic steering wheel
What about a Mègane E-Tech. Which would you choose the Mègane or the MG4?
I woukd save a little harder and get the Mègane myself. I have an uncle who went from a MK 3 Ford Mondeo to an MG4 in Grey. He loves it. He has had Mondeos most of the last almost 3 decades with a Mercedes C-Class in there too. Loves the MG now.
The Renault Megane Etech has a 3 year 100,000 Warranty wheras the MG4 has a 7 Year Unlimited Manufacturers Warranty (If you plan to keep it for over 4/5 years that is) I would suggest looking at the Fisker Ocean that is Megane Etech Size but a few grand cheaper
Still hurts to seeing the MG name on a foreign car. This should have been a review, if things had gone right, about a British manufacture making a car.
Yes
I'm so annoyed over it all me still to this day
Just to think it's was OURS , see what it cud a been, shame on each and every gov. This silly skint freezing cold communist rock , is sooooooo finished
Crazy that a backup camera is not fitted on a new £30K car! Backup cameras have been mandated by law on ALL new cars since 2018 here in the US.
VW don't fit them on £40k car and Volvo didn't on 45k XC40 Recharge (they may do now I haven't checked). They specifically do it to make people upgrade to higher specs.
I have cars with either. I prefer the sensors as you can use the mirrors and the audio in harmony with each other.
the higher trim DOES have a backup camera.
The 'value' factor needs some very careful consideration, especially if you're planning to buy one on finance or PCP. EVs are reportedly losing circa 50 to 60% of their value in the first year, and dealerships are reluctant to take them in part exchange because used car buyers don't want them. So you can very easily end up tens of thousands of pounds in debt with a car worth next to nothing that nobody will buy from you anyway. That is a terrifying proposition.
The majority of people buying EV’s are company car drivers to avoid benefit in kind tax liabilities and their employers are also making savings in NI charges; furthermore EV’s can be written off against capital allowances. The upshot of all this is the rest of us will have to make up the shortfall to the exchequer elsewhere. Electricity in the UK is principally generated from the burning of fossil fuels so where’s the environmental benefit? Emperor’s new clothes!
Isnt MG owned by a chinese conglomerate? Ive heard very few good things about modern MGs.
Funny because they sell like crazy in the UK and they have a generally good reputation from what I've gathered.
Yes, MG, Roewe (they never picked up the Rover trademark) and LDV are brands of Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation which is a state-owned company. They actually mainly manufacture Volkswagen and General Motors vehicles in partnership with those brands. The MG/Roewe/LDV business is a smaller percentage of their manufacturing output.
@kristoffer3000 the reason I mention that is because MG released a model in Australia and they have been appalling in terms of quality and reliability. I know it's perhaps unfair to extrapolate that across the entire lineup but I saw this recently and it caught my attention.
Would expect to have electric folding mirrors, rear wiper, backup camera.
I don’t want to go to rear drive either…snow & ice doesn’t get cleared here.
Surprisingly it also doesn’t duplicate the most used hifi controls on the steering wheel.
Trophy has folding mirrors and 360 camera (including reverse.) all cars have rear wiper if you ordered in the last few months
The good old Allegro with its quartic steering wheel turns out to have been decades ahead of its time. I wonder what this car would look like on a decent set of wheels, rather than the generic awful EV wheels. Minilite lookalikes maybe? Or even basic steelies.
B.L and Rover Were years ahead of the game just mis managed
I'm disgusting about what was allowed to happen to OUR heavy industrial might
#WEHADANALLEGRO
Cool car and a quad. Wheel
"what this car would look like on a decent set of wheels, rather than the generic awful EV wheels." EV wheels (or some other kind of aero wheels that are quite flat with little void area) are necessary as they lower drag of course. (Lowering drag is more important than brake cooling on a car like this.) It's a shame that buyers seem to reject the idea of having fully or partially faired rear wheels (like the Citroen DS or Honda Insight or Clarity), as that also significantly reduces drag.
It looks like a GTA car or one of those cars you see in adverts for insurance companies, sort of weird at the ends.
personally , i'm not ready to go full electric..i haven't got the facilities at home or work....though i have bought a brand new Hyundai Bayon Hybrid , but i still have my 1998 Rover 414 SLi
"all the toys you could want" except you can't have a rear wash wipe. First they disposed of spare wheels, then they disposed of physical button, now we're losing the rear wash wipe. What next? Engines...? Oh, hang on.....
Rear windows 🪟 non exsist....seen how small they is
I believe the wiper is coming back, it's on the new x power version.
every new car ordered since May has a rear wiper... also loads of other brands that did this. MG is far from the only one.
Nice looking.sounds good in performance and reliability.I bet Audi and BMW are wondering how come they can build a little beautiful car at this price….I’m wishing it had a diesel engine in side the lookers body.Chinese? Well done to them…
@@dizzy2020tired out of date comment. Quality is right up there with everyone else. Think you need to look elsewhere (VW) for cost/quality cutting.
@@stepheng8779 SAIC (the manufacturer) make more Volkswagens than MGs, so I assume that's where they learnt quality control from. Will the quality of a modern MG or LDV be like that of a Toyota, Sukuzi or Honda? Given the ICE in MG petrol vehicles was co-developed with General Motors -- *probably not.* (But the very same applies to VW or pre-Peugeot GM, of course. I don't think they -- VW or GM -- care to try to bring their quality control level of electrical/electronic parts and mechanical parts on par with Toyota or Honda. They've had a long time to do this, but have never bothered.)

As a former and current owner of a couple of MGBs... I'm really conflicted about the current situation of the marque.
Though I hope one day they roll out an MGBe; as retro as possible but BEV. The batteries split in two and placed behind the seats, of course, though maybe not positive ground this time around.

The MG Cyberster is an electric roadster and releases next year
@@Nimmo1492 Yep! Don't expect an MGB reboot though. The Cyberster (or MG C?) will be a 1.7-2 tonne vehicle and quite expensive.
It's really hard to know what to buy now in a well equipped car....an elcheapo hard riding, hard plastics EV..an expensive PHEV..or a soon to be outdated petrol car.
Bottom end EV's are still a bit like cars for non-car people, even a Tesla 3 has about as much emotion as a refrigerator.
the best thing about the video is Laybourne Lakes 😂😂 if it catches fire you can dump it in there 🙄
It's an EV not an ICE so less likely to catch fire.
@@MrLikerBiker so what’s all the fuss about e scooters & e bikes then, ask a Fireman how they deal with EVs
See a lot of these around, personally im not a fan of the design but does seem good value.
First time anyone talked about the rear lights, interesting configuration.
I rented an MG SUV with the touchscreen. Drove me nuts, I could never figure out how to adjust the fan speed.
5 hours later and still 720 resolution, some setting made it that way while filming?
My wife’s bought a trophy and although sceptical have to say the odd time I’ve driven it it’s very impressive, but I’ll stick to my diesel Octavia for a bit longer. For me though ice cars are getting so complex re environmental controls, with no one seeming able to fix them when they go wrong - electric is looking attractive, the cost though I find baffling.
Batteries are expensive, thats why the cost. Still, they are extremly affordable compared to 10 years ago.
I drive a BMW 330e Msport Touring - the new 23 plate. It’s got the Msport pro and the tech and comfort packs. I got it through work and pay BIK and PUC - the list price is about £62,000. For a 3 series!!! It’s stupid! No way I could afford one privately and whilst it’s a truly fast and beautifully made thing, it’s stupid money.
7.7 to 60 is not bad same time as my old Saxo VTS i know nowadays there's cars that do 60 in like 2 seconds but if you tried that in London you would literally either run some pedestrian over or hit the car in front so it boggles my mind to be honest as 0-60 in 7 seconds is more than fast enough for 9/10 people unless your Lewis Hamilton lol
For a Green MG4 see the MG4 X Power.
Is there a reason why this video is only available in 720p? (of course there is a reason, but which?)
Wonder when EV manufacturers are going to catch on to the fact that cars have a large roof area that can be turned into a solar panel so can be constantly topping up the charge for ancillary power, when not raining that is.
Not strictly an EV but I see the new Prius has the option of a full roof solar panel.
"ancillary power" You mean charging the 12V battery for the radio and other ancillaries? For the main propulsion, a 4 square metre roof can only produce 1.2kW (1.6hp) on a perfect summer's day (assuming 30% efficient panels, which is far above the best, & 1000W irradiation per sq. m), which is not enough to cruise at 70mph on the highway (at least 12kW/16hp, usually a bit more) -- hence why solar challenge cars have far more panel area than just the roof, and ultra-aerodynamic styling and extremely skinny tyres to minimise drag & rolling resistance far below the levels of a regular passenger car!
A typical charger is of the rate of 50-250 kW by way of comparison. The hypothetical 1 kW solar system on the roof of a car could produce 4 kWh in one perfect summer's day -- which is not nothing compared to a typical 50 kWh battery, but it's also not a lot...
To be honest, you'd be better off having a much larger solar system on the roof of a building and plugging the vehicle into it. Since these EVs are building built down to a price, they are probably unlikely to include the feature of a solar panel roof that is of marginal benefit.
However, the *ultra-aerodynamic Aptera EV does include a solar panel roof* (and bonnet)... It's almost similar to a Solar Challenge car. *But* perhaps such an extreme high-efficiency vehicle is (sadly) in stark contrast to the tall boxy SUV EVs that most motorists would actually be willing to buy?
I'm old school analogue dials and switches.
As for EVs,...a plug in hybrid is the only way to go.
The touchscreen on my 21-reg C3 was absolutely infuriating. Even the fan was controlled there. I hated it so much.
My theory on this is most of the world is right handed but as we drive on the left we have to use a screen with our left hands. Thats alien to a majority so distracting a driver wafting their arm around at a touch screen trying/hoping to prod the right one is a poor answer in some markets.
My main gripe is you've got to look at the damn thing, w old-fashioned knobs and turns you can do it by touch and watch the road.
@@wanderingorganist I seriously question why heating controls had to move from sliders even - always worked well enough for me.
So at the golf club sorting out our trolleys etc uses 20 minutes of battery 😂
According to the China Observer channel, insurance companies in China will not insure BYD cars due to the battery fire risk.I don't know if the batteries for export models are of higher quality though.Apparently BYD fiercely clamps down on any negative publicity by issuing damages lawsuits against individuals. Not a good look I must say.
"Tiny aquarium!" 🤣
"Kidnap a frog" 🤣
As safety conscious as the UK usually is, I'm surprised that back-up cameras are not mandatory by now.
'Touch and go' screen, and 'pain assist', etc,? no thanks.
Great review as always, thank you.
It's not just the purchase price that's the issue, it's depreciation. Let's say you walk into an MG dealer with £30k in a suitcase, and walk out with that car. MG's actually have much lower depreciation than most EV's, but 3 years later it's going to be worth about £18k when you trade it in, so wave bye bye to £12k for 3 years motoring. Compare it with Dacia Jogger (a larger, even more practical family car), It's going to cost you £18,300 at the dealer, it's going to be worth £13,000 after 3 years. So you're out of pocket by £5,300 after 3 years or £6,700 better off than if you went for the MG. £2k a year is a pretty significant saving. I'm getting my figures from Glass's trade guide, so they're likely to represent real world costs. Now bear in mind that the MG is projected to be the lowest depreciating EV out there, the figures for any other EV brand will be much worse. You'd have to be either very rich, or very dim, or hold shares in a cobalt / lithium mining company to want an EV.
Absolutely, leasing is the only sensible option for EVs at the moment
@@HiruS22 Unfortunately though, finance companies are not daft. Those depreciation costs will be built into the lease, and you'll be paying interest on the depreciation.
My friend bought new MG ZS EV top of the range 3 years ago which has only covered 4k miles because he is retired. It is as new but the supplying dealer would only offer 13k for it at exactly 3 yrs old.
@@HiruS22 Totally agree leasing makes most sense with getting an EV as insurance costs are also on the rise and this can be included if the company you work for offer a Salary Sacrifice scheme that is how I am getting my new MG4 SE Standard Range.
The MG design centre is in London
I hate lane assist & turn it off in mine
The power is only "on" when the driver seat is used
It is a brilliant car. Set up brilliantly for UK roads :)
"Most people can't afford them" 🤔
That's possibly true but 'most people' can't afford to buy any new car.
Is there a good reason, SAIC call the cars "MG"s and not "Morris"es so as to not upset the MG faithful who think an MG should be sporty? Is it just because the MG brand (and LDV) was all that was left? Did the Morris (and Austin) trademarks even come with SAIC's purchase? 🙂
I appreciate SAIC are planning an electric roadster called the "MG Cyberster" and perhaps having two passenger car brands (both Morris and MG) would be too much to handle from a marketing point of view?
Stick to my petrol, it's greener.
If you never drive it then yes, but otherwise it's worse however you generate the electricity.
Good price for a Rich guy!.I’m wondering if it’s Chinese software what about security? Just a thought
The anti-China propaganda regarding "security concerns" is absolute crap, there's literally no evidence for any spying.

Good old buttons and knobs for me not a fan of the touchscreen in my Picasso
Just bought a Trophy today.
Another good video Matt
I'm still skeptical on Ev's Matt, they just look like toy's for the Rich & Old. Still feels like a gimmick, lack of charging anywhere but London. It looks lovely don't get me wrong, plush and easy to drive. I wonder what its like off road on a farming track! 🤣
E.Vs are a total sham
Tick tock ..............
Let’s see the resale in 3+ years 😂
Welcome to the mg4, every journey I have to turn off the lane keep assist, who thought that this is a safety feature on UK roads, which amounts to someone grabbing the steering wheel while driving! Insanity, everything else is great.
EUEO NCAP did (thought it was a safety feture).
Once the general public becomes more educated on the net carbon footprint vs ICE cars things will drastically change.
Already huge uproar with the ULEZ expansion, the US are onto the cobalt mines which violate all sort of human rights/slave labour practices.
This sort of EV just wont succeed.
China have been producing and storing their vehicles to boost sales figures. Plenty of videos online of built cars sitting rotting.
Lastly, disposal i imagine will be a problem like with all things battery powered.
Studies show that EV's are far less polluting to produce as soon as they reach a certain amount of kilometers, I forgot the number but it's not all that high and that was ages ago, they've gotten better at it now.
The US loves slave labour, why would they do it so extensively at home but be against it abroad?
You mean cars that are waiting to get shipped? Like all manufacturers do? That has been the industry standard for as long as we've had car manufacturers that produce in large scales?
Disposal shouldn't be the goal, recycling should be the goal and it is slowly improving though there's not enough financial incentive to do it and like with all things capitalism nothing is ever done that cuts down on profits.
@kristoffer3000 I agree the US loves to stick their oar in where they may try to gain resources. Doesnt detract from the fact Africa produces a huge amount of cobalt as well as other things required for EVs. Literally children working in these places, not just for cars, but for electronics too.
Regardless of political bias, it's disgusting. The US will be highlighting this purely on the basis China is buying up land in huge amounts, but they arent wrong on this one.
As for the studies, there cannot possibly be anything accurate to draw from any of them. Tech is constantly changing, there is no one size fits all for batteries or ways to charge. Until that's the case, i dont think EVs will get natural traction.
Price points are still way too high, infrastructure of the grid is poor just about everywhere, and companies like Toyota are making huge strides with more efficient engines and Hybrids.
My 2 pennies worth would be to bet on them instead. Way more tangible data in the form of the taxis doing high miles. 2 decades worth of making them has got to be worth more than hypothetical studies.
@kristoffer3000 As for the cars being held in China, BYD were the ones caught with drone footage i think. Acres filled with brand new cars rotting away months after building. I think the consensus is that they build them to win more government funding/contracts. In turn they boost EV "sales figures" to thr outside world.
I wouldn't expect anything less from any country that is vying for more economic power.
Tick tock agenda 2030
No one's going anywhere " lockstep " the globalist scum bag agenda
You do realise that most of the mined cobalt is used for sulphur removal in fossil fuels? Newer battery designs have managed to ditch cobalt completely. When the battery capacity has dipped below a useful level, say , in 15 or 20 years, it can be repurposed in grid energy storage systems. No need to dispose of because it is still useful. Ultimately the contents can be recycled.
What does MG stand for?

I bought a new one already 54%Battery gone for 110mil and 46% left it for 120miles so this is something MG has address it properly.
280 miles is not true.
It's a good car for its price though.
7-year warranty - but please ensure you read the small print.
Of its like the mg estate it loses over half its value in the first year .
The term "ignition" will soon disappear with "hand cranking" as electric cars don't need to "ignite" any kind of engine into life. The car being ready to drive as soon as you unlock it instead of having to press a button for no reason makes perfect sense.
It maybe a good car but having worked with MG through my Job I could not recommend this car to anyone absolutely terrible customer service from MG and in general they do seem to be built particularly well
Good looking. Cheap. Range. Brand image mega healthy as everything Shanghai motor Co done with MG EV side to date been mostly brilliant. Even like it in orange. I don’t buy SUV or EV. Just old broken Selespeeds and Busso. But. If I was in this market I’d never buy a german ‘E’ I’d be in one of these MGs or a used top spec petrol Superb estate. Easy..
The bus would be much more appealing
Why are nearly all EV’s so awkwardly proportioned?
They can be any shape really. The floor being made of battery does tend to make the passenger compartment a little taller though.
All new cars have defaults that have to activate every time you start to meet Euro safety regulations so nothing to do with MG. Power down button is on safety tab on screen, surprised you didn't research before making a video
I said the lane assist is to do with NCAP, and although I knew about the power down, it's hidden on a menu several screen touches away.. Well enough hidden to be useless and as close as not there
If the touch screen was a phone in a cradle would using it would be illegal?
no, as if the phone is in a fixed cradle its considered part of the dashboard
@@furiousdriving OK - under the misapprehension that touching a phone under any circumstances was illegal.
Bloody hell , you took it on the motorway .Thats a first .
The price is the issue with any ev for me. I refuse to pay that much for any car
I'd love the byd seagull to come over here.. Works out in our money less than 10k, bargain
so if it comes over here will be around 32 grand... we are called treasure island for a reason.
Tesla 3 is like 30 grand in the US, we pay 42. with conversion it should be nearer 27.
