Thank you so much for doing this video. I've loved George since the first time I saw him (in person) & up close, in Brisbane 1964. I was seven & perched on my Dad's shoulders. Dad had just set up the press conference & staging on behalf of the TV channel he worked for, which is why we were allowed into the cordoned-off caged area. I had no idea who The Beatles were before I saw them, but then recognised them as "those men" whose pictures adorned my 2 teenage sister's bedroom mirrors. George smiled & I shyly looked at the ground. I didn't even notice the other three Beatles because George's kind smile sparked something in me that has lasted my whole life. I adored, still adore, his humanitarianism, philanthropy, kindness, humour & of course his incredible talent. I even married the beautiful, kind, shy boy I met at high school, who looked & acted very similarly to George Harrison, and we grew up listening to all our beloved Beatles albums being that The Beatles drew us to each other. Nice video but just a few things - George said in an interview in 1990 that he got up early (before 10am) to chant, meditate and do yoga. He ate Scott's Porridge Oats for breakfast and then power walked around his garden per his doctor's advice. He also was a fan of egg sandwiches. And, he always had tea time in the afternoon as most Brits do. He loved to have friends over to play guitars and hang out and, when not doing that, he liked to go to the local pub for a pint.

George obviously began to realize -- early on in his career, obviously -- that fame and fortune had very little bearing on one's peace of mind. He once said that (paraphrased) "(the Beatles) were the world's reason to go mad...it was like being in the center of a storm, and the four of us were the only sane people in the world." He obviously found his connection to God through meditation and prayer -- more of an inward experience. It became a major part of his life. I was struck at how much of a whole and happier George had emerged, as time went on. He chose to distance himself from the temporary woes of life into a much lighter hearted man. He was a deep person, obviously. I would have loved to sit in meditation with him, or discuss his views on spirituality.
i think the unsung hero in the life of George Harrison was a guy they backed on a record named Tony Sheridan. This was when they were still laboring in the vineyards in Germany. Sheridan was a "studio guitarist" who let George follow him around and spent hours tutoring him on the guitar. That plus the hours they spent playing in those German clubs forged him into the player who appeared with them in front of the queen mother with that great solo he created for McCartney's iconic version of "Till There Was You" etc. He was awfully good for his age, and especially for his age THEN.
Having always lived in a huge city, to have my own private forest is a major goal to me, or at least a home with a garden. Quarantine just made that more clear to me.

Nice presentation of George Harrison's routine. My life has been heavily influenced by George Harrison, Eastern philosophy, meditation, mantras, studying the sitar, Kirtan music. I fortunately got to meet George's sister Louise Harrison and studied Sitar with Ravi Shankar's Sitar technician who also toured with Raviji as a musician. I could relate to George's routine, minus the vegetarian lifestyle! 💚

I learned TM in the early 1970’s, of course, influenced by George and others who introduced us to it. I do other forms of meditation (Yoga and martial arts forms,) but the 2 most important ideas behind TM is 1) allow your mind to wander. Don’t try to stop the flow which you think is distraction. The distraction is forced blockage of the flow, which is what you were trying to do, instead, just keep returning to the mantra, image, idea, etc. 2) recognize the individuality in yourself and others. Don’t try to imitate others; find the answers through your own observations. I might try beans and toast as an idea, but it’s for me to decide if it’s what my body needs. You can never replicate a Beatles’ life, but you can be informed by it, as you can by anything. It’s your journey, you get to decide.
meditation will come to you,I start every day with 15 minutes of meditation.since my dogs and cat and husband have passed away ,I needed something to focus on.
Thanks for the upload, HH. I grew up rurally -- the forest was my playground for the first 17 years. Songs came to me out there among those trees by that pond, and I'd come home to my guitar and hash them out and write down the lyrics and chords. Fast-forward to downtown Philadelphia in the 90's, I lived across the street from a small park at 11th & Pine. On sunny Sundays, I'd smoke half a herbal jazz cigarette and take my acoustic guitar to the park and just play. Songs came to me there, too, among the traffic and the other people and the smell of cheese-steaks. I guess my point is, I've found that music comes to you wherever you can relax and really be one with YOU.
Awesome video. Not sure why it came up in the feed, but I enjoyed it very much. I have done similar things throughout life, the walks, the drives, playing guitar outside, just doing these things without knowing it was anyone else's lifestyle. Life is so complex and busy now, so full of stress, anger, resentments. I am so glad to see this, and know I need to connect again with nature and life and the simple things. Not sure about the breakfast toast and beans, but definitely time to slow things down. Thank you for the video.
Meditation ultimately is about watching the mind, learning how fleeting it is, and coming to understand that it is not “you.” That realization is the place of relaxation. The mind simply does what it does and the core consciousness that is “you” is experiencing the up and down of the mind and the youth, aging and demise of the body. It -you - is neither the body or the mind, but the consciousness experiencing both.
Over the years I have often taken a guitar out to the local nature park to sit and write, there is such a great energy to it, really freeing yourself to be more creative.

What blew me away about George, was how quickly he learned slide guitar. From what I hear, he actually picked it up in 69, and by the time he recorded All Things Must Pass, he was an amazing slide player. I don’t know of any musician that learned slide so quickly.

I am so glad TH-cam recommended this to me. I am a huge fan of George, and I had no idea that my favourite evening meal was his favourite breakfast. :) I really appreciated this deeply insightful video - hope you enjoyed Autobiography of a Yogi. Take care, Casey
This was very interesting. You continue with this topic. Also , i am so glad you had so much footage of musician gavin pring fro. Liverpool, i mean George Harrison, in this video
How about Sid Vicious’ daily routine? Just joshing. How about John Lennon’s routine? Especially that last year of his life which has caused so much speculation about what filled the hours for John.
Love the analogy and the presentation. Nature is nurture, your soul, your mind, your temperament all develop a softer sensibility. Love you’re videos and the area you live in. I used to live in West Chester County. Beautiful ,stunning, you can feel the history. I sure miss living there. It fed my soul.
I have a George Harrison story that very few people know about. I am good friends with a woman named Claire, who for several years was the nanny of George's beloved son Dhani. One day while nannying, Claire walked into a room at his estate, like she had done a million times. For some reason, this time she completely startled George's wife Olivia: an extreme over-reaction; like Olivia nearly jumped out of her own skin. Claire apologetically asked her why she got so frightened and jumpy, to which Olivia replied, "You could've been anyone. You could've been a madman with a knife, breaking into the house and trying to kill us." It all was bit out of character, as Olivia was typically chill and cool as a cucumber. Well. Cosmically and tragically, about 15 years later, a madman with a knife would break into that exact same room. What are the odds. heinousAnyway
Look at George's chart and were his moon is, the worst thing you could say about him is that he had a penchant to appear mysterious by whispering to whoever when a live cam came on him I believe the Beatles are all karmicaly linked to each other thru past lives, given the opportunity to do what they couldn't individually... John : He wasn't a Ramses type w so much social power? Or a Pope slain in olden day? 🐝
this was great, I really enjoyed it, learning more about George things I hadn't ever thought about like a day in the life, and I'm looking forward to find out more.
Have you ever thought about making a video on Mal Evans the famous Beatles rodie? It would be an interesting story, he was present for every significant event, he was even there when John and Paul jammed in the 70s. He was heartbroken when the Beatles split up and kind of wandered aimlessly until he was shot by the LA police in I think 1975.
Great, thank you, for this perfect, funny, and joyfull video. Its hard to describe, how happy I was, when I got your video , about daily routine. I adore those kind of stuff, but YOU, doing GEORGEs routine....PERFECT!!! ITS BRILLIANT...I hope, REALY to see more....Johns...acid for breakfast =); =) ...and , I saw your beautyfull wife forthe first time. Tnx aggain, have phin, LOVE the Beatles...peace!!
I have the same experience with meditation... don't know how to relax/keep my thoughts from racing... thanks for being open about that haha. I walk in the woods by my house most days and it seems to be very therapeutic I believe there's a word for it in Japanese that translates to "forest bathing." I believe they've done a lot of studies about how it's good for your brain.
Owendey ZonZon. Meditation is not for everyone. It takes a lot of practice to get into the right frame of mind. I can do it but it’s difficult for me. It takes several minutes to get into the headspace. So don’t worry about it. Your probably one of the people who meditation isn’t for.
Ok so far. But first put butter on the toast, I like a dash of Worcestershire Sauce on the beans and eat it with a knife and fork. Fork in left hand knife in right. No swapping over.
Who sleeps till 10 am ? kids and night shift maybe . WORKING IN THE GARDEN, PHYSICAL LABOR EVERYDAY IS THE REAL KEY TO GEORGE .PHYSICAL LABOR IS THE KEY TO LIFE ! Getting ones hands dirty is true bliss . All that meditation crap pales in comparison to a sense of accomplishment every day. As a guitar player I would add ever look at a guitarists hands ? callused fingers ? It is also physically challenging . Way to much concentration on relaxation is the root of a lot of unhappy in the world . Georges gardens were epic ! He and his brother did most of the work themselves ! He got dirt under his nails like all good yogis. PS . While important physical exercise is not PHYSICAL LABOR.
According to the coroner of the show the last hours of, he died from an unusual combination of hard drugs. Smoking was part of it, but not the main cause. I was surprised.
George probably didn't know how bad cigarettes are until the damage was already done. It would be great to have them all healthy and back together again.
@@MsAppassionata He re-reviewed the existing data. Almost as good as doing it yourself as it is done in court all the time. Watch the episode. Its sad, but fascinating.
I learned to play the ukulele by a lake and still take my instrument close to a body of water whenever I can. Anything from a small pond to a beach by an ocean. The sound of water and waves is part of the experience for me. (not that I'm composing anything)
Last summer when I was back at home away from university, I used to take my guitar to a field I called ‘the garden of Eden’. I was able to write so many songs that I was really happy with. Being one with nature really helped
Do Paul's! He seemed to be ultra-productive throughout his career - even to this day - so there must be something either in his daily routine, or perhaps it really comes from his personality, that can be attributed to that productivity.
Not just productivity. He has his feet on the ground, is not over indulgent, and retains a sense of humility. Imagine how hatred that would be if you're Paul McCartney! I think it comes from his happy childhood. He had warm, loving, musical parents.
Great that you tried beans on toast (one of my favourites for breakfast too) but we Brits eat it with a knife and fork and most of us use butter or a can’t believe it’s not butter type of spread. If you come to the UK in the summer try visiting N Wales (Snowdonia) and look for a quiet spot you can walk to then sit down take in the view listen to the sounds and just play your guitar. You can also meditate to enhance the experience even more. Bangor where the Beatles went to meet the Yogi is in the area it’s beautiful with mountains lakes waterfalls and farms and Wales even has its own language Welsh which sounds nothing like English. Loved the video as always thanks oh and if I may say you and your partner make a lovely couple. Stay safe 😊👍
I’ve always loved George, since I was little. I’ve always appreciated what he did for not only music, but humanity as well. I wrote a poem about him recently , well inspired by him, I should say. it’s on my channel if anyone wants to read it, but no pressure, I’m not one of those people who likes to promote myself or anything, but I just am passionate about the poem, especially it’s message. Anyways, I send my love to you all who read this! Much Love ❤️
If you choose to do John Lennon's daily routine, I'd stick with the years after Sean was born. Don't wanna end up in Primal Scream therapy coming off heroin. :) This was brilliant--a lot of us are needing structure again in our lives (after a year of existing as shut-ins), and George had a sense of healthy balance to his lifestyle that could be easily adapted to people's particular circumstances. This was a really novel idea, wonderfully presented. Thank you again Mr.-the-Hobs. This was fun and illuminating: both of which are very 'George' things to be. :)
It's cool you did it for a day... might be even a better perspective if you lived a good routine for a week. Yes do each Beatle and maybe other cool bands too!
I'm so damn jealous of your hair! lol. it looks good, you should keep that look. GREAT video! GH was always my favorite Beatle, and I've learned a lot of interesting facts about him (and the other 3) through your channel. Thanks!
This video is brilliant - In fact, your videos are always essential viewing for me because I simply love your passion and insight for one of the greatest bands to have ever graced this planet... but, side note, how can you never have had beans on toast? In Australia, this is a frequent 'quick meal' that is high in fibre and relatively good for you.
Don't think there's enough info available to be able to plan a day in the life of the legendary Alan (Blind Owl) Wilson but he spent as much time as he could in nature, often turning up at home with dirt in this finger nails and leaves and twigs in his hair. He also practised yoga and loved Indian music. His was a beautiful soul. Btw, you didn't put enough beans on that toast 😊 Nice video, well done.

Baked beans. Toast the bread more, - then the butter. Eat with knife and fork. Serve with HP sauce and a strong cup of tea. Mustard optional.
Mustard with your beans on toast?? Definitely gonna have to try that
Excuse my ignorance but what is HP sauce?
To do Lennon's routine you'd need to drink about 9 cups of tea and coffee a day. Haha not kidding
As well as a case of Coca Cola or Doctor Pepper. John loved caffiene and especially cigarettes!
Cheers!

@@ciabazac probably will need some other substances aswell😬😂 maybe give that a miss
20-30 cups actually !
he was an adulterer, heroin addict and abusive towards at least one of his sons
@@ciabazac Well, there's another way Daniel Johnston tried to be Lennon then...
Even though he’s in the middle of making a video, he’s still having breakfast with his wife. So adorable and a sign of a strong marriage. 😊❤️
"THIS GUY EATNN BEANS" - whole reason i subed LOL
Named my son after George. His spirituality changed my life.
You are such an incredible content creator omg. This video was so thoughtful and enlightening, and I'm so glad I stumbled upon your channel!
i luv u george
You don't know how much I needed this. Your video may have just saved my life. Thank you
WOW !!!! what an amazing, brilliant, peaceful, funny and happy video .. I couldn’t take my eyes away .. you are blessed to be so talented and smart and don’t forget so handsome:) .. so very proud of you aneil !!!!
''We were talking about the space between us all, and the people, who hide themselves behind a
wall of illusion, never glimpse the Truth, till it's far too late, and they pass away'' George was right
Finally an another amazing video, keep up the great work!
Thank you, so much! I just discovered your channel, tonight, and your video has given me more inspiration for creativity, and for changing my lifestyle, from my regular daily routine. I look forward to seeing more of your videos! :-)
I also like cars like george does, joy riding would be good but I'm too young to drive, love george
I love this video so much!!! Please do more!!! I’d love to see the daily routine of other Beatles, and David Bowie :)))
I love George he was such a down to earth typical british dad
I agree w/ walks in the forest, amazing! That's when I experience being more spiritually connected. I remember Heinz beans, good stuff.
Great ideas in this video. And, I love that Gretch acoustic guitar. I don't know if you mentioned it, but George made Gretch famous.
Interesting video! Yes, please do the rest of the Beatles "Day in the Life."
I am so glad TH-cam recommended this to me. I am a huge fan of George, and I had no idea that my favourite evening meal was his favourite breakfast. :)
I really appreciated this deeply insightful video - hope you enjoyed Autobiography of a Yogi.
Take care,
Casey
I just realised how much me and George Harrison actually have in common...
Great video! It would be awesome if you could do one of these for the rest of the Beatles and maybe Bob Dylan?
This was very interesting. You continue with this topic.
Also , i am so glad you had so much footage of musician gavin pring fro. Liverpool, i mean George Harrison, in this video
The guy narrating this did NOT eat "beans on toast". He ate beans on untoasted bread - there's a BIG difference.
Not to mention that that's not how you're supposed to eat beans on toast anyway 😅
@@IsaacWale2004 Exactly.
A hammered dulcimer! Imho the most beautiful of instruments.
Coffee and Reddit. You got me!! 😂😂😂
How about Sid Vicious’ daily routine? Just joshing. How about John Lennon’s routine? Especially that last year of his life which has caused so much speculation about what filled the hours for John.
I really loved this video! I hope you can do more stuff like it
Love the analogy and the presentation.
What are the odds. heinousAnyway
i would absolutely love to see you do a day in the life of paul, ringo and john!!! this could be a super cool series that id love to watch!!!
Look at George's chart and were his moon is, the worst thing you could say about him is that he had a penchant to appear mysterious by whispering to whoever when a live cam came on him
I believe the Beatles are all karmicaly linked to each other thru past lives, given the opportunity to do what they couldn't individually... John : He wasn't a Ramses type w so much social power? Or a Pope slain in olden day? 🐝
I take walks along the Delaware river and it is magical. Mother nature is so beautiful. Thank you for your channel. Peace
Would love to see Ringo's day in the life, he seems like in physical Dynamo!
this was great, I really enjoyed it, learning more about George things I hadn't ever thought about like a day in the life, and I'm looking forward to find out more.
This was really creative, great job!
Ok so far. But first put butter on the toast, I like a dash of Worcestershire Sauce on the beans and eat it with a knife and fork. Fork in left hand knife in right. No swapping over.
And more beans!
I have never had beans and toast. It's a curious idea to me. And I was wondering about butter. We always butter our toast here in the states.
Great premise for a series, man! Definitely keep this going!
The cow in the pasture in the beginning of the video reminded me of the cover of an old pink floyd album
Great , please more...much love. Ron ps. Thank You.
I miss him so much 😢 😔 😞 😪. So funny and so great as a man.
Too bad George Harrison smoked most of his life. If he hadn't done it he may still be alive today. He is greatly missed.
According to the coroner of the show the last hours of, he died from an unusual combination of hard drugs. Smoking was part of it, but not the main cause. I was surprised.
I agree!
George probably didn't know how bad cigarettes are until the damage was already done. It would be great to have them all healthy and back together again.
@@rman52 Did he do an autopsy on George himself. How does he know?
@@MsAppassionata He re-reviewed the existing data. Almost as good as doing it yourself as it is done in court all the time. Watch the episode. Its sad, but fascinating.
I love George Harrison, since i was 20, i am now 63. And i miss him. I would like to see the daily routine of Leonard cohen.
I learned to play the ukulele by a lake and still take my instrument close to a body of water whenever I can. Anything from a small pond to a beach by an ocean. The sound of water and waves is part of the experience for me. (not that I'm composing anything)
Beans part was hilarious 😂
Last summer when I was back at home away from university, I used to take my guitar to a field I called ‘the garden of Eden’. I was able to write so many songs that I was really happy with. Being one with nature really helped
All Beans Must Pass.
I enjoyed this episode.
All Gas Must Last
Yes the David bowie daily routine would be fascinating. Thank you for your videos! I love them
Great that you tried beans on toast (one of my favourites for breakfast too) but we Brits eat it with a knife and fork and most of us use butter or a can’t believe it’s not butter type of spread.
This was brilliant--a lot of us are needing structure again in our lives (after a year of existing as shut-ins), and George had a sense of healthy balance to his lifestyle that could be easily adapted to people's particular circumstances. This was a really novel idea, wonderfully presented.
Thank you again Mr.-the-Hobs. This was fun and illuminating: both of which are very 'George' things to be. :)
A fun experiment at first, it's now a way of living your fans can look to in some way as inspiration.
It's cool you did it for a day... might be even a better perspective if you lived a good routine for a week.
Yes do each Beatle and maybe other cool bands too!
Sweet basil is good in them beans. :) The Beatles all had the same mantra "I ing" (Eye ing)
This was a great video. Thanks so much for sharing!
Should do this with John and Paul
I subscribed today cause of this video. Thank you for sharing.
Another great video. Enjoy those great outdoors
I think you are the nicest person on TH-cam.
