Excellent video 👍 . I do believe the grease fitting only greases the shaft. Bearings normally have seals, would think it’s impossible for the grease to get into the bearings. Take care my friend catch you on the next one.
Great video Tom. Blade spindles are always something to look at after a certain amount of hours operating a lawn tractor. Have fun at the GIE Expo. Think you'll get video footage there?
Hello Tom. I was curious about what grease that you use for the mower deck spindles and other moving parts that you grease in your shop. For some time now, I have been using the Lucas RedNTacky grease and had no issues with either my mower deck spindles or my steering spindles. Recently, I decided to change out the mower deck spindles on a 2000 model MTD Garden Tractor with the 46 inch mower deck The spindle bearings were starting to get that “Crunchy” feel to them and so I decided to go ahead and splurge and replace all 3 spindles. The old spindles did not have the grease zerks and the blade nuts were on tighter than my battery impact could handle. Everything will be brand new going back together which will be much better to deal with. My only issues were the belt guard self tapping screws that snapped off when I was taking everything apart..
@@philliphall5198 I get 50 per hour, but it is the time I'm wondering about. I've been a computer programmer for 30 years until the jobs dried up, so I'm trying to make a living fixintg mowers. I just don't know if I'm charging too much, or maybe leaving too much money on the table.
Good job Tom on the deck work. Have a good time at the Expo with all the gang you need some down time.
Very helpful video

I’m working on the same type of deck but it’s covered in dirt and grass 😢 , going to be a total rebuild all the way 😅, even sand blasting it😊

Doby Damage Control 🥇👊🏻
One thing I would like to see is what different shops charge for repairs because I can’t find any kind of flat rate manual
Every area is different, rual area pays less than the city and it then depends on the wealth people
30/60 a hour is a start
