    Well, I'm retired from music, but, wow, girl - I feel so proud to see such a successful female trumpet player. Back in the 70s-90s it was a tough road for us. You got some serious chops and absolutely made my night!

    Oh, yeah - back in the day, we used to drill 3-4 holes in the plunger ( about 3/8" big ) which keeps the pitch from bending without changing the "mute" effect.

    Nice demo! I need to try a few of those. :-) I like to do +o+o+o quickly to get a sort of talking effect (fast talking...not slow like Charlie Brown's teacher!) ;-) Check out Al Hirt on "Didn't He Ramble." Only a bit of unusual plunger (although he might have just used his hand), but some other very interesting effects. Happy Birthday! And congratulations on the ITG grant!
