Honestly of the 87000 jazz guitar advice TH-camrs out here I guess you’re my favorite. As someone who makes a living playing jazz guitar I have to say most these dudes out here are giving bad advice. You are solid tho and not annoying.
The lessons are really good. This one and the playing fast lesson have been great. It actually talks jazz language, or bebop language. Feel I have learned all the frickin modes plus augmented, diminished, whole tone and what not and still it doesn't sound jazz to me. Have started to focus more on bebop heads and phrases. I think many are in the same situation.
What a great lesson, I particularly like the sound of the first lick, any pointers on where to explore these chromatic lines further? I often find mine end up sounding rather exercise-y. Keep up the stellar content Chase!
Thanks! I'd check out some of the Benson lessons I've done on this channel. Many of those get into his chromatic ideas. Also this recent video: th-cam.com/video/zbIt3hDTqyQ/w-d-xo.html The last two licks from Doug Raney are very chromatic and definitely work for this concept.
Cool! The TH-cam membership gives you access to members-only videos, including the recordings of all the livestreams coming up. To get all the PDFs for my TH-cam videos, you would have to be a member of Chase's Guitar Academy.
Chase, nice concept to share. I believe your right hand has progressed nicely over the last couple of years. What's up with the flannel shirt, I thought you lived in FL?
Hello, very nice and interseting vidéo. You say it´s possible to use the riff also on Cantaloop island. Have you a vidéo for this song or others ? Eddy

Learning bebop heads and phrases will do 1000x more for your playing than learning scales. Here to help if you need 🙏
You are a “monster” (in Brazil we use when the person is really great) !!! Greaaaat lesson, again ! Thank you very much and God Bless you !
Thanks! 😃
Very clearly explained, I've seen the concept coveredd before but never a crystal clearly as here.

Worth mentioning the song "midnight sun" where the melody is this lick several times.
Great video, thanks.
Glad you liked it!
This is great!! Love you brother!❤
Glad you enjoyed! 🤘
love the emphasis on language, and what a killer stache!
Thanks on both counts! 🤘
Just like a7x beast and the harlot solo, last note ties it together

Cool topic as always! I had never thought of this 😂
Hope this helps Tristan!
Thanks for the video. Great ideas. The first lick reminds me of the theme song to “Archer.”
Thanks for watching! Haha I’ll have to check that theme out.
@@ChaseMaddox The lick would be the in the opening title sequence but not the theme for the end.
Haha I heard it! The descending chromatic piano line in the opening title sequence.
Just signed to your channel. Where do i get the PDF? Thanx
