I am wondering, though, if any person has actually attempted this category in real time... it would be, of course, one of the most brutal runs ever, but that doesn't seem to stop people much... Edit: I just found an RTA run from last year, 57:09! It was even more impressive to watch knowing it was an actual human doing it since they did fall a few times.

I noticed that there were places in each part of the hidden kingdom where you could stay to see the true hidden kingdom. I think you just need to stay there then memorize. It's just that he memorized it already that's why he didn't go and stay there.
If I am watching this video here I doubt this was used without some means of hacking. Too insane. Way too insane. No way someone can pull this off without cheating.
Seeing someone falling through several screens in this game is always incredibly entertaining. The backgrounds change so fast and the scenery is so disjointed that it looks like some montage of a time lapse.

This is a TAS, aka a Tool Assisted Speedrun. While the inputs are fed in by a program when it comes time to see the whole thing, what inputs to do are determined by a human. Think of it like a music box. A machine is playing the music, but what notes come when was designed by a human.
It is just a Tool assisted speedrun, litteraly wrote in title/description. It's also a common thing used in the Speedrunning community. So yeah this run is not valid in SRC because of the TAS usage, and this isn't "cheat" either. This guy probably spent dozens and dozens of hours for this 30 min TAS run.. ( copied from "Etimo" )

Im late but this is a TAS, which means everything here is done by a robot and so precise its nearly impossible to be done by any human. The lore basically is theres this big journey to the top, where the babe waits you. same for dlcs
it's mainly long due to the backtracking to the merchants, and there's a lot of waiting for their dialogue as well. and it probably took around a month on and off to get it completed
After watching the dlc content I am convinced the devs are psychopaths and enjoy seeing people suffer, because they know whenever there's a challenging video game some sucker has to beat it.

The TAS doesn’t use it for obvious reasons, but normally there are mushrooms you can stand on to see where to go, and memorize it from there

It's a100% Speedrun so he's hitting certain areas (like the areas with the birds) to get the items at the end. I think that's about it.
