It's sort of funny the amount of things this can do, and the inevitable comments about how it costs too much for a vocoder. This isn't a vocoder, it's a filter bank laboratory. If you have a large eurorack setup, there are so many things this can: microphone in, filter bank with 10 VCAs, simple vocoding, phasor, low pass filter, vco with PWM, LFO, noise source, drum machine, etc. This is one of the most sophisticated semi-modular pieces of kit I've seen in a small package like this. I'm really glad Moog took the time to redesign this, because this is much more useful than the moogfest version.
Although - watching these spectravoc videos i rediscovered my mutable warps vocoder and just had a few hours of fun inspired by this. Might still buy the spectravox at some point.
No, it wouldn't allow to send out 6 envelopes following different rhythmic patterns, but you could certainly do a variation on this patch with the two envelopes, and experiment with the other cv signals coming out of Subharmonicon.
The Beatstep pro can output enough voltage, but make sure you have the drum gates set to v-trig and not s-trig. also keep in mind that the drum gates have hard edges, so it might sound clicky in comparison to envelopes

I didn't never suspect that I wanted a Spectravox
I would buy a drummachine with sounds like that.
man imagine having a spectral shift knob for EACH band! I guess thats what overdubbing is for. 😂
Okay…this thing sure is versatile 😅
Will go well for extra tweakery with mother 32, dfam & subharm
😍
This is so cool.
Man, I'm loving the sound of this thing. Want one..
Omg I got to do this with drumbrute
And how would you do that 😂😂😂
Indeed, what do you mean? I also have a drumbrute but I am not sure how you could emulate this with it?
@phelper4554 not exactly like this but running the individual outs into the vca CV to trigger the individual frequency band

are we all good with Taiwan making this?
this sounds amazing !
How about more videos that show how to incorporate this with the other sound studio modules? More moog on moog action please.
would this work using subharmonicon for the sequencer/voices?

Boing Boing.
Couldnt get this to work with the drum gates on the Beatstep pro. Perhaps it’s because of the voltage mismatch?
The Beatstep pro can output enough voltage, but make sure you have the drum gates set to v-trig and not s-trig. also keep in mind that the drum gates have hard edges, so it might sound clicky in comparison to envelopes
@@MoogSynthesizers thank you; got it to work hear the clicks but still pretty awesome

Who needs a CR-78? Answer: You don't.
Am still reluctant to let go the TT-78..🤔
So it's a 600 synth that needs other equipment to be musical. Got it 👍
Tell me that you don’t use modular, without telling me you don’t use modular.
