Happy New Year, Phil! I too am USAFRet, and very proud of it. I'm glad you're enjoying your ukulele and would love to continue our dialogue and share ukulele as we do so. I'd love to come to Florida for ukulele doings as I've not done that there yet. Could you put me in touch with some planners with whom I could work with to go there. I am planning a trip to Tryon, North Carolina, sometime this year and hopping over to Florida would be quite easy.
Kimo Hussey To start with, I'd suggest you contact Steve Boisen at the Tampa Bay Ukulele Society. He's also the primary point of contact for their annual getaway that's usually the first weekend in November. On UkuleleUnderground, he's BassfiddleSteve. www.meetup.com/tampabayukes/ For other clubs, here's info on them: www.floridaukulelenetwork.org/
PhilUSAFRet Thanks, Phil! I'll definitely contact Steve Boisen. I've seen his name a lot in online discussions and events relevant to ukulele. I appreciate the references you've shared.
Happy New Year I'm looking forward to meeting you in Italy...let us know I see I am not the only Italian interested , I have a 4 course 6 string ukulele and I love it.
Grazie, Valerio! I will make a concentrated effort to plan a trip to Italy in 2015. How wonderful it would be to meet with you. Where do you live and do you know anyone in Italy who is an ukulele event planner? Best wishes for a fun 2015!!!!! Aloha, Kimo
Valerio Vitullo Great! It would be fun to meet and I'd love to hear your six-string uke. If possible, could you put your event planner friends in touch with me so we could do some preliminary planning ----- most importantly, to establish a date for performances and workshops so I can clear my 2015 calendar of any interruptions. If it is easier for you or your planners, my email is: kimohussey@gmail.com. Thank you, Valerio!!!!!
Valerio Vitullo Thank you, Dear Friend! I'm excited with the idea of coming to Italy to share ukulele. We are going to learn some Italian songs to do for you. I look forward to hearing back from you when the time is right.
Merry Christmas to you guys! I love these videos, I find your lessons to be very interesting and enriching! Any chance to have you guys here in Italy? That would be awesome 😃
Serena, thank you. Merry Christmas to you and best wishes for a 2015 filled with fun and happiness. Indeed we want to work to get to Italy in 2015. Do you know anyone there who could help us with some planning and coordination? Where in Italy do you live? We'd love to come visit and play ukulele there.
Hello, Serena! I've begun some dialogue with a person, Valerio Vitullo, who lives in Rome. We're doing some preliminary planning regarding a trip to Italy. If this works out, we'd love to come visit you and share ukulele there. Where do you live???
Kimo Hussey Ciao! Thanks for replying! I live in north Italy, in a small town near Genova, between mountains and sea :) I've contacted a few friends who may help with the planning, I guess the accomodation wouldn't be a problem, biggest thing is the plane tickets :) I'm not that close to Rome, but if you can travel all the way to Hawaii I can definitely get there! :D
***** Hello, Serena! I think it would be fun to go to northern Italy. I've visited Italy several times and never tire of it or get enough of the culture, history, art and food. One year I spent about one week around Aviano and loved being there. Anyway, I do want to stay in touch and share ukulele with you and your friends. If it turns out that I get to visit Italy again as I would LOVE doing, all the better.
Aloha, Paula!!!! Merry Christmas and best wishes for a GREAT 2015. Let's try and figure out how we can fertilize that ukulele desert with meaningful music. Do you know anyone there who is an event planner or who could help us with some planning?
Kimo Hussey I can contact a person in a college town 50 miles away in a town called MaComb, IL. I will see if he can help with an event organizer. Thank You for trying to help!!!
Thanks and Happy New Year. I always enjoy listening to Kimo. Maybe you will come to Florida sometime. Uke Fests in Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale.
