8 year's in prison. He caught an 8 year sentence. 8 years in an environment with the worst violent offenders anywhere....a Texas State prison. If you think that's " extremely lenient " you are going to be confused & outraged if you continue to watch Judge Boyd sentencing clips. 1 year would have got him clean and his mind focused on staying out of that hellhole. 8 year's lenient for failing to render aid.

That’s when I told myself, “you’re gonna go to prison if you don’t snap out of it”. Never had another brush with the law. Gives me chills seeing young men sentenced to prison. Worst brush with the law since was 1995: I was issued a speeding ticket. Now, at 56, I spend 99% of my time visiting foreign countries. The thing that gets me most about this guy is that he was blank when the judge asked him (at the first hearing) why he would walk away from injured friends trapped in that car! It was weird, and shows he has no empathy! The thing about his grandma telling him she was leaving at critical moments was exactly what my mom did to me when I was in a very vulnerable situation with a baby….she would suddenly say, “I’ve waited long enough! I told your sister I’d go with the mall with her, so you’ll have to find another way home.” I’m glad Judge Boyd couldn’t remotely understand that, because it means that, even though life was hard for her mother, she wasn’t mentally ill. People can’t understand that there are parents who are incapable of love and that messing with their children’s minds and non-violently traumatizing them is like a sport. If you don’t get that, you should be counting your blessings every day.

Even if it really happened, he should have told he Grandmother to go ahead and leave and that he would find another way home but instead of doing that he created problems with his probation. He keeps changing his story about his grandmother's support of him.
First its "I'm so lucky to have her support."
And then its "I'm all by myself out there without any support."
And then its "In a way she's supporting me."

What can cause somebody to walk away from a car accident and leave injured people behind trapped in the car? A soul that is dead. A person that lacks what most every normal human beings have naturally...a SOUL that is alive and functioning. Many in this generation have apparently LOST that. They are selfish and hollow, and they have no regard for other human life.

28:00 Common sense is not strong with his one. May the force protect his kids. Real talk the best thing that can happen to his kids and give them a fighting chance is that he is in prison for 8 years. If he could not comprehend how lucky he was with his first sentence, that all he had to do was check-in. The dude was looking at 10 years and felt not doing the very basics would still keep in out of prison.
