    This makes all kinds of sense: we overthink things, instead of getting off our asses and taking action, following a process. It's better to act on a stupid plan than to never take any action

    • @kevinjohnson6549
      @kevinjohnson6549 7 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Nope he’s saying to act on a GOOD plan! If you take action on a stupid plan then YOU are just as stupid as the person who designed it.

    • @LilBleachThaGod

    • @a5amr2

      100% agree. Overanalyzing stops a person from making progress. Sometimes you got to act stupid and do things. And believe that things are easy. Everything has been made difficult by all this you need a degree for this, doing basic things. If Joe bloggs can do it so can you. Just need a little common sense. That's it.

    I believe poor people have a skeptical mind of all the wrong things. As Dan said, its because they've engraved the thought into their mind that it couldn't be that easy, thinking there's something more to it, thinking that what they have to do wont work because it only works for the rich. Thus, discouraging themselves from doing it. Americans are facing a huge problem, and its something called privilege.
    Every law-abiding citizen and even criminals in USA all have the american privilege of participating in an open market (mostly) free of government intervention, and also the privilege of opening a business. Yet everywhere I see, there are people taking the little privilege they have for granted because they wanted to be born even more privileged. In result of that, they don't take the opportunities they have with the minimum privileges they've been given. It's all about playing the hand you've been dealt, but most people would rather fold.
    I'm no big business man nor a stock trader neither, I'm 19 and recently just press the reset button of my life. Not $5 to my name, and I'm on the hunt to become an entrepreneur with the little options i have and not another gear in the machine.

    • @yoyuepz
      @yoyuepz 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tige9999 I think you need a certain skeptical mind, esp when you dealing with traders as they want to make as much CASH from you as possible, they not your "friend" remember this. However I do think if you keep thinking and thinking about something and it will never happen and someone who does not THINK will do it and it will happen. I do believe that people on youtube watching these videos are poor, and never been trained in the arts of business or do not come from a business background. And I think you will need to use deception against people, and to be honest I think if you can go to china and deal with chinese on business and get a desired price, then you can basically do business anywhere, as they have 1.5 billion people and it is a dog eat dog mentality, and if your a foreigner in there mindset is to take as much profit as possible from foreigners. This is not racist it is reality of cash :)

    I THINK what he is saying is..you need to make SIMPLE presentations to sell your product,service,or dream. the script is basically where you interview enough of the right people with a direct to the point script until you get the result which is money.Improve the script as you move along.Basically you need an audience which will support you and its a numbers game.The issue many have with this is that working people get caught up in their day jobs which pay very little and take up a lot of time..Dans message is simple just get out there and do it.Dont think about it so much just do it because its easy once you see it work.

    Dan Peña is like a reverse TH-cam comment.
    Real talk though this is great advice. Avoid analysis paralysis or you'll lose.

  • @emailsucces5642
    @emailsucces5642 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dan Pena praat geen onzin. Het 'dumb down' is een originele gedachte waar ik veel aan heb gehad. Veel werk dat gedaan moet worden als je succesvol wilt zijn is gewoon 'dom' werk. Acquisitie, TH-cam comments. Luisteren en reageren op je prospects. Hoef je geen geleerde voor te zijn. Wat Dan Pena ook bedoelt met het script is dat als je bedrijf staat, je premisse in orde is je je bek moet houden en gewoon moet knallen als een muilezel richting de top van de berg. Zo snel als je kan, maar het lijkt langzaaaaaaaaaaaam. Succes allemaal.

    Actually he is right, there is a system that if you follow you will make money however if you try to be "smart" by questioning the system, wanting to kow details about how it works and case studies then you lose confidence that it will work so you never do it, while the guy that does it that believes it works will actually make money compared to you.

    I needed to hear this. I could have been rich in my business a very long time ago but I found that I have a really bad habit of trying to "intellectualize" everything instead of just making a move. I was telling a friend about this realization and he said nothing. Instead, he sent me this video.
    Now that I think about it, I did my best financially when I was in a previous business and before I developed this habit of always having to be the smartest person in the room. The following was a hard thing to admit and it is this: being a super intellectual is nothing but an alibi for being broke. In other words, by trying to be a super intellectual, what I was really doing is running from my goals. Hiding behind intellect when I was really being a bitch who was too scared to go out there and get rich.

  • @swanclipper

    Education. the need for education. the desire for education. the desire to better my mind ruined my life. i quit my first job in favour of education and finishing college. being homeless and having to work and learn and work and learn day in day out caused me severe medical issues. stress was too much. i had a choice of education or work. like a dope, i chose education. over a decade has gone by and nobody will hire me, nobody will notice me, nobody tests me, gives me a trial, a chance an opportunity to do great things.
    if you have to choose education or work.... choose work. dedicate your life to work. education doesn't help. sure you're smarter, but at what cost? you can learn during your fucking holidays, your days off, your down time. i made a mistake. now i'm jobless, sponging off the tax payer, with no prospect, no chances, no work no money, no nothing. i'm 27. do you really want to be my age, living off other people, living with your parents, being unable to move out because you can't afford a place, you can't afford food, you can't afford travel or anything to get away from home.
    the guy is right. you don't have to be smart, you just need confidence in whatever it is you're doing. fuck learning all the backroom jargon. learn the fundimental basics and be a fucking winner.
    being poor sucks. i'm only on the internet because my mother pays for it. the only money i get is from pennies dropped by strangers when i play my guitar on the streets. i can't afford clothes, my mother struggles to feed me, keep the electricity going. heed my warning. this fellow in the video is 100% right. i'm poor because i thought education was the answer. learning shit got me nowhere. i'm a smart alec motherfucker with plenty of shit to say in complex ways. but i'm literally penniless, if i'm lucky, i can get a fiver off my mother once a month for a trip out of town. but that's not enough to get back another day, i have to get back the same day or risk walking back, and walking 40 miles through dangerous streets isn't exactly smart.
    Dan is 100% right. i'm the reason i'm poor and i'm making my mother suffer too. i'm an asshole and i'm ashamed to be almost 30. almost half my life has gone by and less than 3 years total has been spent in my own residence i pay for. money makes the world go round and for over a decade i've been stuck in the same place. i'm a sad sad case of everything this man mentioned. following a script wont change you. you're still you outside of your work. i've been waiting for a golden ticket. i'm going to die in my mothers rented flat, probably before she dies. i'm everything you want to avoid. so avoid it like the fucking plague. run. run and don't stop.

    Overthinking makes you poor. It creates problems where they don't exist. It makes you stop doing what your suppose to do. Just do it. Fuck it....just fucking do it. Forget about rejection, forget about losing...just forget that shit and just fucking do it.
    You gain 2 different outcomes by just doing it. 1. You achieve what your looking for if accepted. And 2. You gain experience if you get rejected or whatever it is that stopped you from getting it.
