One thing that bothered me about this movie that nobody is talking about… just how many times did Black Manta almost land a killing blow on someone, but get stopped at the last second? Manta almost stabs Mera- Stopped by Arthur Manta almost stabs Orm- Stopped by falling rocks Manta almost stabs Baby- Stopped by Arthur Manta almost stabs Arthur- Stopped my Mera Martha almost throws trident to kill Mera- Stopped by Orm And the one person Manta actually stabs, Tom, ends up surviving. It’s a cliche in many Super Hero movies, but played out to an absurd rate in this movie.
It's not a terrible sequel. it's a rental at best! But it's certainly not as bad as critics make it out to be. But it's certainly better than The Marvels, Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Shazam Fury of the Gods. I actually prefer this over The Flash.

It’s a forgettable popcorn flick that just exists and has no real purpose. This won’t be talked about again unless they do a documentary about how underwhelming this DCEU experiment was.
I somewhat agree, I loved the first one and I went in to this with a bit low expectations, but I came out actually liking it and was pretty entertained. Wasn’t on the level of Across the spiderverse or G3, but Def thought it was the most fun DC movie this year
I loved this movie. So much awesome action and I loved the chemistry here more the the first one. I hated rebel moon and this was the perfect palette cleanser. Also cinemas were pretty packed out where I live. I think countries in the Asia pacific regions will love this movie more then those out west. I think Americans will hate this because it’s a very non American type movie.
I saw Rebel Moon in a theater and it was awful, I was itching to just walk out because I was straight up not enjoying it. I expected to have a similar experience with The Lost Kingdom and yet I kinda had a blast. It was dumb, big and fun. Rebel Moon was just big and dumb, and was dull instead of fun.
@@nancykerrigan Most of the hate ive noticed is from the west. Ive watched several reviews now mostly by americans and alot of those jokes went over yah heads. You took them as serious instead of as a joke.
Movie was ok. My 8 year old had a great time. I think part of the problem is Jason and James were in part writers on this story. Probably should have brought back Will Beall to help write it.
I loved the movie. I had a fun time watching it in imax. Glad I was able to see more of that world and those characters. Sad to see all these great actors go 🥺
Just came back from watching Aquaman 2 with the wife, maybe it's because it was being panned so I went with floor low expectations, but we both had fun with it.
I thought the movie sucked but one minor thing I did like was that Aquaman killed the henchwoman, I can't stand that stupid trope where they have to bend over backwards to make sure the hero doesn't murder a woman but can murder thousands of men
I’m completely on the other side with you guys. I didn’t like the first aquaman at all! Hated Black Manta. He was whiny in the first film. Went into this with low expectations and have a lot of fun with this. Not a good movie, but I was entertained. First one was too self serious. Mamoa really fell into his own in this one. His relationship with Wilson was 100x better. They had chemistry.
This is 100% my experience as well. First one felt overly long and scattered and Amber Heard’s acting was godawful. This one was shorter, more focused and Orm + Arthur were a helluva lot more entertaining than Mera and Arthur
I don’t understand how you hated this movie, I absolutely loved it and everyone that I’ve talked to enjoyed it as well. It also currently has a 80% audience rating and 35% critic rating on rotten tomatoes, which to me means a majority of the movie going audience enjoyed this it’s only you critics that disliked it. It’s bad reviews like yours that are causing the majority of the movie going audience who would probably enjoy this movie from going to see it. I think you critics need to start watching these movie for the pure entertainment they provide like the rest of us normies instead of critiquing every aspect of the movie, you may start enjoying them like the rest of us!
Her name is/was Stingray. They namedropped her briefly but she plays a bigger part in a pre-release comic where Manta defeats her crew and makes them his.
Seems to be the cool thing to hate. Was the movie great? Not by a long shot. Was the movie terrible? Absolutely not. It was a decent movie that if you weren't specifically looking to shit on it
I also really disliked this movie and found it boring but one thing I didn't realize until rewatching the first one was Randall Park had a very small blink and you'll miss it role in the first one. Just pointing that out in case you forgot or was unaware.
Here’s the issue with this movie and it’s obvious when watching it. It’s been cut to bits. This is not a James WAN movie. I’d say a lot of what I love about the first Aquaman is present in only small doses. Which lets me know this was a movie that the studio fussed with in a way the first wasn’t. Maybe Malignant caused the company to lose faith in WAN. Maybe the pressure to now being a billion dollar movies sequel caused more studio interference. Either way, this is a film that feels incomplete and half-baked. It feels purely like something the studio fussed with and not the work of a great studio auteur like the first Aquaman was.
I do agree (I think it was Kristian who said this in another video? I can't remember for certain where I saw/heard it) that they're just trying to release this last DCEU movie & get it out of the way so they can focus on gunn's upcoming dcu and other not-dc movies. I also think they just sort of looked at what they knew people liked that they could have in this movie and just slap it all together. Like, with jason momoa's surfer dude thing (which is cool but they did it very badly), having black manta in the movie, referencing other stuff, having Randall Park, etc..., That's definitely what it seems like imo.
I had low expectations, and i had fun. But I was expecting a good send-off, something to close off the DCEU universe. Unfortunately, we didn't get that.
I liked this movie idc. Cheesy and ridiculous yea but i enjoy the early 2000s pulp both Aquaman movies have. I think its better than a handful of bad comic book movies we’ve had in the past like WW84, Quantumania, Venom Let There Be Carnage. Also I think a good future episode to do for capes & cowls would be to rank the DCEU now that it’s all over

I’m an MCU defender but The Marvels was godawful and easily the laziest entry in the MCU. This movie (AM2) was at least fun and had some sort of character development at least for Arthur and Orm
I feel bad for the Aquaman crew. It felt stitched together with bits of cartoony CGI from parts that were from an entirely different story script. You can't rise above the writing and dialogue that sink the whole boat. Good riddance dceu.

Real bad. Cost 240+ without marketing. Let's be generous and say marketing is 100M. So 340M and it made 120M. Drop off for next week, lets say 50 percent. 180... It will be lucky to even get to 200.

Am I the only one who's really concerned about Superman Legacy being a comedy? James Gunn is one of my favorite filmmakers but all his movies are jokefests
I enjoyed the movie but I don't think it's a movie worth seeing unless you see it on a cheap Tuesday or a matinee. It's dumb as bricks even dumber than the first one. To me this is a B Grade Science Fiction film on a A Grade budget.

I actually enjoyed Aquaman 2, probably because I went in with low expectations. If you liked the first one, you will find the 2nd entertaining.

I believe based on the reports It would be WB taking charge in that merger not paramount.
I hope it doesnt happen though. Cause it will just remove another competitor from the field. Which mean less diverse movies/show getting made

The only things that annoyed me about the movie was the Loki reference and the "I am Aquaman" mike drop. Other than that, it was ok.

You don’t have to worry for it. I think James Gunn already confirmed that Superman Legacy will not be like his other superhero films.

I enjoyed the movie but I don't think it's a movie worth seeing unless you see it on a cheap Tuesday or a matinee. It's dumb as bricks even dumber than the first one. To me this is a B Grade Science Fiction film on a A Grade budget.
