How devastating would it be if he gets possessed by a Great Unclean One? A serious critique of Nurgle's forces: large, massive, plagued/poisonous bodies but more harder and less rotten. Is this logical enough?
When we talk legions are we talking about dissolving the successors back into first founding legions or are we talking about removing the 1k cap on recruitment and allowing things like the black templars legion or tome keepers legion etc
I loved this book and really hope we get a follow up. typically well written stuff by Wraight. The Death Guard are excellently portrayed, and I'm not that much a fan
If I recall correctly, before it was retconned Mortarion was elevated to daemon prince because he made the Plague Planet a copy of Barbarus. No surprise I suppose that it’s still so, even if it isn’t supposed to be intentional now.

I've always been perplexed by "fled into the eye of terror". How insane are these worlds on a moment to moment basis? Are they actually in the warp? Or is it like a warp/real space estuary?
The worlds in the eye of terror are trapped between real space and the warp. The planets are physical and COULD be lived on, but due to the constant warp storms, reality shifts around, and demons can and do manifest on the planets all the times. It’s not like the warp itself, which is so unreal, that no human can survive. They are just really magical worlds.
@@vontheunknown7982 Seems so, he wasn't particularly happy when Big E scorched Nurgles garden and told Morty that while he might yet be redeemed for now he's going back to being Nurgles servant. The question is how would Guilliman and Lion feel about that. Morty tried to either kill or corrupt Guilliman and he might hold a grudge or two. Lion on the other hand will have zero tolerance for any brother who went traitor, regardless if it was willingly or not. Loyalty is it's own reward.
Mortarion is keeping (how is unknown, given that his mere presence corrupts everything) an uncorrupted version of his primary weapon, seemingly in secret. That can’t be Nurgle-approved.
I look forward to the day Mortarion is redeemed by the Emperor. A flash of bright light covering him and we see all his deformities fall away revealing a new Primarch. Typhus will lead the deathgaurd while Mortarion is gifted a new legion of Primaris.
All the Primarchs come back, to include 2 and 11, the Emperor is rejuvenated, Chaos is defeated, every. Last. Xenos. Is extinct. And humanity comes together in eternal peace and happiness as we move to seed the universe. Thats the ending of 40k.

There are billion, trillion even people lived on those planets in the warp.
