If the Eldar tech can detect pure eldar it would make sense that the webway portals reactivated. That being said, nids flodding/ using/ learning to build webway stuff would be terrifying. Whole fleets could disappear and emerge over former Garden/paridise/exodite worlds even down to the crone worlds in the eye of terror. ... which funny enough could influence the cycatrix maledictum / warp there.
Gotrek and Felix encountered some sort of Orc insect hive mind. Fun and always enjoyable to see it used, even on the poor punching bag of 40k that is the Aeldari
If Zaisuthra was separated from the other Craftworlds since the fall they shouldn't have an Infinity Circuit as that was developed on Iyanden post fall per the Iyanden Supplement.
I think it was in a Ciaphas Cain novel that some tau got infected by genestealers, with cain and a few others noticing but deciding not to tell them, can’t remember the name of the book but at the time I really hoped they would pick that part of the story up as another novel or short story
What happened to 'The Knife Ears' of Zaisuthra Craftworld? One theory is they could of been killed by the one of the C'tan that was never shattered into shards 'Tsara'noga' A.K.A.... The Outsider!

They had a white dwarf article a long while back which featured Ork/genestealer hybrids. But their forced to largely hide their faces and live in freebooter and outcast clans since Ork's don't normally tolerate anything they deem unorky.
I think another possibility was overlooked. One which you laid out all the pieces for. They were desperate. They were alone. No spirit stones. Hounded by Slaanesh and hunted by the dark powers. They had no one else to turn to. They were probably looking at oblivion when they happened upon some genestealers. Now it's fair enough to say they maybe fell victim to mind control or subtle suggestion, but not completely without merit. The Tyranids didn't have to worry about Slaanesh and were volunteering to help integrate the Aeldari people into that protection. If you're completely out of options, who's to say you wouldn't willingly surrender to the change?

Craftworld Zaisuthra escaped outside of the Milky Way galaxy itself at the time of fall. So it makes sense they would encounter the 'Nid fleets in the darkness between galaxies. This again leads to the idea that it was probably the War in Heaven and not anything during the Horus Hersey that attracted the Hive Minds attention. Another thing to remember too it appears the space the Eye of Terror covers is almost as large as a Quadrant of the Milky Way Galaxy. Ala the Alpha Quadrant in Star Trek, though it appears there were smaller Alderi colonies all over the galaxy. The pre-Fall Alderi either never did (possibly due Ork infestation) or as their civilization fell to madness abandoned most of the Milky Way galaxy.

@@williamings773 In Cawl novel we discover the Pharos was originally powered by C'tan shards (with only one left in 41st millennia after it ate the others). I hope the Eldar have enough psychic power to overcome the pull of the hive mind. The Tau, and the Orks, would by susceptible as their psychic abilities, if any, are not as mature as those of the Eldar. But Eldar should be able to resist IMO.

I would not expect the genestealers to be able to take over a Craftworld due to the eldar been psychic and so should of allowed them to find and kill them with out any real danger to the Eldar them selfs. It dose raise a question IF any other Craftworld was able to leave the galaxy and avoid get to another or just far enough away to out range Slaanesh and could maybe come back at a later date to help the other Eldar.
If I recall the story, they might have let the genestealers take over willingly - as in they knew very well what these creatures were and what they did, and chose to join with them in the 'group mind' to protect their souls from Slaanash. Without connections with the other craftworlds or Commorragh, they found an 'alternative' to saving their souls. An alternative that came with a price.
@@pll3827 connection to the group mind as protection is possible but I think the genestealers reproducing more rapidly might have also been part of it since eldar reproduce slowly normally.
