We started getting issued the armored plates during OIF and OEF. I would say that they are really heavy. Wearing the flak with the armor and combat load of (10 ) 30 round mag, smoke and M67 Frag grenades with other things will slow you down in combat. It is heavy but definitely an awesome piece of gear that will save lives. Today, I heard that improvement has been made and a lot lighter than the one we had. I’m glad the AFP is getting these type of gear. Awesome video.
We are using a different brand, not this one. And, yeah, you have to train with all the gears on to get used to it. I can recall that I had a hard time scaling the steep mountains of Sultan Kudarat with my PPEs. :-)

This just shows the value of having armored plates for soldiers in the battlefield. Good thing uso na ang plate carriers so there is a lightweight alternative to full body armor

Sir it's not the cheap labor of China the main reason but the raw material in China is cheap, electricity is lower compare to Philippines and taxes are way lower in China compare to us. Matagal na pong napag iwanan ng China ang pilipinas pagdating sa labor wage.

@@sniperrangercee - I agree Sir! On the other hand. After being hit with what could have been a fatal shot on their plates, They were back on patrol the next day more experienced, more careful and more lethal warriors.
