- This video features the full game playthrough of Max Payne 3 on PC using the Sam Lake Mod which replaces the original Max Model. The video cutscenes still has the Original Max model but in-game or in engine cutscenes and gameplay has Sam Lake mod.

This is a full game complete walkthrough divided into 4 parts with game's ending. Just a casual playthrough not a speedrun.
Had alot of fun playing this game after 11 years. This was my first Xbox 360 game (ya i got the xbox 360 really late). I really hope they make a John Wick game like this one. Also really looking forward to playing Alan Wake 2. Sam Lake also plays a character in Alan Wake 2 who is a FBI agent named Alex Casey.

It's quite funny to me, that there's people who say "i like this or that actor as Max Payne" and than there's people (me included) who say "Sam Lake IS Max Payne". It actually a very powerfull statement. Man created the character in his mind and had to give himself to embodied it for sake of finishing the development of the first game. And now it is a legendary history of gaming industry.
At the same time James McCaffrey is the voice of Max Payne and i admit that he did a great job fully acting Max for the third installment.
It would be really generous and great if we could have fully build in choice to play the game with Sam or James as Max Payne. Probably it would be not the bad idea, if the remakes of first two games would have that option. By default Sam as Max, and James as unlockable bonus.
Yeah choices for customizing the character model with sam or james would be great in the remake, stuff like this always adds to the replayability of any game.
Even if customization options are not available someone will most probably make a mod like this one if the game is available on pc

Ehh pre-renders ruin it a bit :(
Yeah definitely, mix of pre render and in engine cutscenes was pretty common in old games but most games these days have a lot more in-engine cutscenes so character model mods like this would work really well in current games
pre render is good for optimization except if you like modding.
so there are pre rendered cutscenes? i couldnt tell. so you cant mod those?
Those are just video files, technically possible but it would be a lot of work for a single modder to either edit or remake every single pre rendered cutscene in the game

___Installation___
- Install OpenIV
- Run OpenIV and select Max Payne 3
- Toggle edit mode or just press "F6" on keyboard. Сlick "Yes" in the pop-up window
- Go to "Max Payne 3/pc/models/cdimages/playerped.rpf"
- Drag all files from "playerped" folder from the modification archive to "playerped.rpf" in the OpenIV window
- Go to "Max Payne 3/pc/models/cdimages/speds1.rpf"
- Drag all files from "speds1" folder from the modification archive to "speds1.rpf" in the OpenIV window
mod doesn't work with rockstar game launcher because it detects file changes and updates files, use steam version and search for a way to circumvent the rockstar game launcher
