I love that 70's vibe from the case shape. Had never seen this. I didn't realize this was the one you had the macro shot of the texture on your IG. Thanks for turning me onto this one. Great job as always Xavier.
Thanks for this review mate! As an owner of this beautiful little watch, I can truly appreciate the way it’s designed and everything that it brings to the table. A few of people on the Urban Gentry Watch Group and Bark and Jack’s group were misinformed on the size which sucks but thankfully I can send them this review so they know! Very informative and entertaining watch video mate. You got a sub!
This watch was made for the British military during the early 1970's Army, Navy and the RAF. Same size as the originals only difference is the absence of the white arrow above the 6.
Screw down crown is not a good idea for the manual wind watch. Imagine unscrewing and screwing down the crown every time you want to wind the watch - too much wear for the crown.
@@theknightswatch I'm very impressed with the quality of your reviews, especially them critical side. Your opinions on Baltic were spot on. Instant subscriber.
sladkru sorry I didn’t see this sooner! TH-cam is funny sometimes. I really appreciate it. I found it surprising that so many talked so highly of that baltic model but when I got it in, it just didn’t live up to it.
Nice, thorough review as always. I had the watch and really wanted to enjoy it but the way the case sloped downward on the sides dug into my (6.75”) wrist.
triniboy05 unfortunate! Didn’t think it would dig into the wrist. My experience made it seem very ergonomic. Lots of other good watches out there thankfully.
Did you have it on a two piece strap or a NATO? I think I remember someone saying that the watch practically lives on NATO because on a two piece strap the watch case would dig into their wrists.
The watch only comes on a nato so i assume when he tried it on it was on a nato. I found it comfortable on both natos and regular straps so maybe for some wrists it’s just not the best fit.
@@theknightswatch True. I recently picked up this model and it wears comfortably on my somewhat flat 6.5" wrist. I've only used it on the stock strap so far though and haven't tried it on any two piece straps. Cheers!
Thank you. In my opinion there is no reason it couldn’t be. Could very easily replace it if something major damaged the crystal and in regular daily wear as long as you aren’t using it on construction sites and doing crazy stuff like that with it you’ll be fine.
Enjoying, you have a good eye for scale and style. Like how you get close up shots and measurements early on. Only prob with $600 pieces, is that they add up after awhile when accumulated funds could go for say a Rolex 16013. What State are you located in, if you do not mind. Best, JP (LA)
JP Davis thanks! I agree. Although spending over that 1000 dollar mark is tough for some people. I had a vintage rolex for a while and loved it and the only other one I’m interested in owning is the rhodium yachtmaster so 600 is not too much towards that haha. Based out of Los Angeles myself.
Nice review! Thanks! The biggest con is the size. Time and time again, watch manufacturers miss on the size. Hamilton’s best looking mechanical and they couldn’t cap it off by matching the size of the Khaki Mechanical. If they could have just made this watch in a 37mm, it would have been a keeper.
Idk how good a screw down crown would be for a manual wound watch. As an owner of this watch, I think it would be a bit annoying to unscrew, wind, and screw in. If it wasn’t a 100m water resist watch then the makers wouldn’t put it in. But indeed it is 100M. No watch will ever be perfect. It’s a great watch. Not everyone’s cup of tea.
@@japd7897 So what exactly is your point? There are lots of watches that are not 100M yes, congrats on stating the obvious? Those watches did not undergo extra development to have the thicker gaskets and case design internally to allow 100M water resistant, this and others have hence why they also cost a bit more. Again, stay in your lane as clearly you have zero idea what water resistance is. Either that or you're just trolling so not worth giving any further attention to here.
@@RobbieKhan It is a misunderstanding. I want to mean, that those non-screw crown watches that you think are a 100M, they are not, as well as this one. May be it is you how does not know about water intrusion and you believe any marketing message. By the way, the cost of a screw crown is close to nothing.

sladkru fair point that I didn’t really think about. The 80 hour power reserve would cut down on that wear a bit but hey can’t have everything!

Excellent review! Very thorough and insightful. Subscribed!

case shape also put me off so far but it looks great on your wrist, especially with the strap choice as well. love the dial, hands and size.
DmK S thanks! It really does grow on you. If you like it I’d say go for it.
I like that you review small watches. Here is a sub.
Thanks! My small wrist attracts small watches haha
Nice little watch, good review keep up the good work!👍
Thanks I’ll sure try!
I've been thinking about this or Khaki. Still waiting for the stores to open before trying it on!
Trust me this is much better than the khaki. Especially on wrist.
@@theknightswatch buy both just flashed through my mind but will visit the store after the lockdown and test run them.
Great review . Would you say this watch could be a daily wear with the mineral crystal ?

36mm é um tamanho perfeito.
What a coincidence I have this watch with that exact same strap ;) haha pretty sure you’re the one I bought it from.
Haha must of been. Hope you’re enjoying it!
Hey, how has this watch held up as a daily wear ? Does the crystal scratch and chip ? . Thanks
@@boston961 I didn’t have it for long, maybe a month or two. But ya the crystal would probably be its weakest point.
May I ask what kind of accuracy you get out of yours I've been noticeably disappointed with mine, much worse than my KFM
Mine was at about -1.5 seconds a day. Can always have a watchmaker regulate yours.
@@theknightswatch swatch group regulated under warranty and changed it from being - 5 a day to +5 totally unimpressed with the service
Always better to gain than to lose! But I get you. 5 seconds a day isn’t bad by any means though.
Totally I would be annoyed but the KFM which is half the price was much better to I can't send it back again I think
How about the lug width?
0:24 it’s 18mm
What type of strap is that?
Archer straps got from amazon.
:( Why dont they do a sapphire crystal.
Thanks for clarifying the 33mm measurements. I wanted to buy this watch but the 33mm kept me away.
Of course so weird that so many said it was 33
