I agree with you 100%!! $35 for shipping for palettes costing $30 is absolute daylight robbery! If a shade is broken the palette as a whole is ruined so I would expect a replacement at their cost. You could say it’s not their fault as it was damaged in shipping but they choose the courier! The Ruh Roh Raggy palette has the same colour story as the Shroud It’s Freakin’ Bats & I know who I would rather buy from. Having said that the palettes look beautiful & your look is gorgeous! 💜
Totally agree lovely! ❤️ I’ll be more than likely avoiding purchasing from them in the future. I don’t understand how they can justify the shipping cost. Smaller and bigger US brands can do it cheaper. And can replace shades or give full refunds x
I completely agree with you. It's basic to any business, from side-gigs, to small businesses to big corporations that substandard CS is unacceptable. I watched Scooby-Doo as a little kid back when it first aired. And I was excited about the Scooby palettes. But I nearly didn't order them when I read Glamlite's policy. In the US they won't refund or replace anything that arrives damaged. Glamlite's site says if anything arrives damaged, the customer has to take it up with the Post Office! Unless items are shipped with extra insurance,-- which only the sender can do, the Post Office doesn't refund for transit damage. I'm in NY and the Post office often delivers packages smashed. Sometimes makeup arrives damaged. I risked it for these 2 palettes. Even though they arrived undamaged, I won't risk ordering from Glamlite's site again. Thanks for the comparisons :)
Wow that’s so bad!! Glamlite are currently still ignoring me, as well as my friend who’s parcel has gone missing. I am shocked and disgusted at the brand x
@@kerry_k That's awful. It's especially inexcusable given that they charge such exorbitant international shipping fees. There are options for small companies to add an insurance fee of less than $1.00 per order to cover transit damage, loss and theft. Glamlite apparently has no interest in that.
I ordered both palettes on launch day. They came this week. I’m in the uk too. I paid the same shipping cost as you too which I thought oh wow! Anyway I had to have them! My first order from glamlite. I love them so much. I was so worried about them being broken but luckily they were ok. I was also thinking about an orange shade too! But I bought frosted flakes from Depop and that had lovely oranges in so I can mix n match. I love what you did with this palette you always do eyeshadow proud! Thank you for the video. I don’t think I’ll order again unless they do another Scooby Doo mystery machine or something. Thank you again, love your vids x
yeah the shipping costs are insane. I wanted to purchase some items from this collab but was put off by the shipping, sad that you were offered a 5 dollar refund. 😭😂 thats a joke
I know how you feel every time I order from glaminatrix. The discount was pretty good for Black Friday but it was $50 for the shipping. Same with a lot of the European brands like lethal or pat mcgrath. I typically only order when there’s a sale or they offer free worldwide shipping with an order above $150. I tend to place a big order when I do because it’s sooooooo expensive. It seems like it’s only getting worse over the last few years
I usually use route package protection insurance and contact them if something goes wrong. In the rare cases I’ve ordered from a brand and there’s been one broken shade I typically just repress it with alcohol and a spatula then wait for it to dry and clean around the rim with a q tip. I only ask for a refund or replacement if an item is lost or missing and doesn’t reach me or the entire pallet is broken to where I can’t just repress because they all mixed together It only takes me 5 minutes to repress a shade and I don’t feel like going through the hassle and waiting for a replacement or refund.
Ordered the purple scooby palette and the Barbie palette but that shippin, jeez. I'm in Denmark. I just closed my eyes and pressed pay. Hope my palettes show up complete. Def agree with you on the customer service offer; not good enough. at least refund the shipping then. Stunning look as always :D
I love Glamlite and pay the shipping because of that. To date I have had no issues. BUT this is making me think twice. I HATE poor customer service. Given how much the total cost of the order was (inc. shipping) their offer was DISGUSTING. I am genuinely shocked that they have such bad customer service and think that is OK. Poor show Glamlite. Poor show. 😞 😠
I agree with you Kerry and Nemesis! First of all, Indie brand or multi-million dollar company, I expect them to right the wrong! Like you said, as much as you paid for shipping and then the fact that you are still reviewing the palettes ( honestly ) on your channel and giving the brand exposure they should be kissing your butt to make you happy! Hell, I expect brands to kiss all their customers butts to make them happy, we all work hard and give them are money expecting good quality. Thirdly, timely responses when I call or email is just respectful and can diffuse a situation when someone is upset or frustrated. I don't give shitty service at my job and I don't appreciate it from others. I just bought the green one off Mercari, BNIB, and it is my first time trying the brand. I am glad I bought it from someone else and not the brand now.
Shipping to Cyprus is more than 65 dollars! I kindly and very politely asked them if they can look into it because I would like to purchase a lot of their products, and they were so condescending in the way they replied to me. Regarding the partial refund, I agree with you. Last year I ordered the Pat McGrath holiday palette and one shade came broken. As soon as I told them they offered a full refund at the original price, even though I bought the palette at a large discount during Black Friday. So they refunded me with more money than I even paid for! Even though Pat McGrath is a luxury brand, customer service should be the same across the board with all brands, considering they respect their customers enough.
Wow that’s crazy for shipping! I have heard from quite a few people that the customer service and responses aren’t always the best …. I really hope they improve as their quality is so good and it’s such a shame x
i think Paulina also had a bad customer service experience with them. I can't remember the details, but i haven't ordered anything from them because of that
All I can say is "WOW"!🤦 I live in the US and order quite a bit of indie makeup both here and abroad. Of course from time to time something does arrive damaged, but I have NEVER had a brand ever offer so little of a solution. More times than not I get notification that a replacement was sent out before I even receive a reply to my message, and those have been brands much smaller than Glamlite! I will definitely be rethinking any future purchase from a brand who values their customers so little. This is DISGUSTING Glamlite, DO BETTER!
I've never bought from this brand cause when I get to the shipping my brain says oooh no way! 🤣 It's a shame cause I would really like to try it sometime
I would be very upset. I think buying an eyeshadow palette is a big deal, for majority of makeup lovers. If a pan arrives broken, it’s devastating! It makes the excitement and experience of that new palette so different. These companies know this. The least they could do is replace the whole thing!
I'm late watching this but I know for a fact I got these palettes as Christmas gifts and I'm a little bit dreading opening them now knowing that if they're damaged then I'm just going to be SOL. They can claim it's not their fault about the damage but I'd argue it is - much like with Ulta and they horrible way they package their orders, they have the power to pad their products before they go out. Beyond that, yes, it is down to the courier, but they do have a piece in it. And for them not to offer replacement shades or palettes and only to offer a few dollars for the shade is ridiculous. Needless to say, I won't purchase from them myself.
I had similar thoughts about their shipping prices when I ordered from them recently. Not only is the price for shipping to Europe outrageous (I live in Spain), but on top of that we have to pay customs fees because they’re outside the EU!! Double whammy. Also, I noticed that once I added another item to the order (the Margarita palette), the price of shipping suddenly jumped from $35 to $70!! What’s that all about?? Can they seriously not find a more acceptable alternative? How is it that Colourpop and other US brands manage to ship to Europe for $25 or less?? Wake up, Glamlite! You’re losing customers. 😒
Hi Kerry, I have to ask someone. Do the Scooby eyeshadows have a longevity issue? I purchased the happy hour bundle and I can drink them almost invisible. Lol. Thank you in advance.
Hey lovely, I wore my shadows all day and didn’t have a problem with them. I do have dry eyelids though so I can’t say about more oily lids how it would wear. Also it depends on what base you use underneath etc xx
We all ordered the Chucky stuff and never even received the packages. They never answered us in emails for 2 weeks now. Other ppl never even got them from valentines 2 months ago. Currently disputing charges. They deleted our comments on social media and were very rude to the ones they responded to. We don’t even want the stuff anymore, they ruined it for us. We all waited up all morning to be the first to order too. I found this video from looking up the other bad reviews.
That is absolutely disgusting. I am so sorry you have been treated like that by an AWFUL company. I wish TH-camrs who constantly promote them and say they are great would wake up and realise the truth. Hopefully their bad customer service will catch up with them x
I mean Glamlite is an indie brand and I doubt they're making the shipping high on purpose. It sucks that it's that much outside the US but I have the same issue buying from brands outside the US. Shipping is just expensive. If you're getting cheaper shipping from other brands that's being paid by you some other way. Shipping prices when shipping overseas is expensive. You need to make sure you look at shipping prices and their rules about refunds and returns. I agree you should've gotten more than $5. Also I mean you knew what you were going to have to pay before you bought it. I also think indie brands deserve slightly more leeway when it comes to shipping prices, times, etc. And even though I agree they should've offered you at least a replacement shade you have to make sure you know a brands refund, return rules. That's why I get insurance through route whenever I can. I agree with some of what you said but I also think in some things it felt nitpicky
I appreciate what you said but I do disagree. The way the spoke to me via emails was also appalling and they have actually ignored my 2. I think their customer service is awful. And regardless of if it’s an indie brand or huge corporation, the customer service should be the same. Same leeway for Both. They admitted they had insurance for the order but told me to contact the delivery company as they wouldn’t. Unfortunately it doesn’t work like that. They would of had to contact them. The palettes are awesome Though ❤️
So let me get this right. As an indie brand you do not need to have a certain level of standard, and its OK to slip below acceptable standards if you are an indie brand. Ok. Got it. Shipping. I think if you were in the UK and buying from brands in the US you may have more of an understanding. Glamlite's shipping starts at $34.99 and then jumps to $69.99. Whereas many others have a flat rate of $20. I wont even mention the ones that provide free shipping after you spend a certain amount. As I said, I like Glamlite and know their shipping costs. Does it stop me buying all I want? Hell yes, but I do buy from them knowing that the shipping will be $34.99. It is my choice not to pay $69.99 and to pay $34.99. Glamlite's shipping costs are pretty much the highest. For that level of cost I would have expected them to have excellent shipping insurance and they don't. They do nothing to help people who receive broken palettes/shadows. This is not an isolated incident. I have been lucky and everything I have ordered has turned up in excellent condition. Customer Service. I would expect indie brands to have better customer service than larger corporations. Sadly they do not. It is becoming more and more obvious that very few brands care about customer service. I can probably name half a dozen that are actually good. You do not get a pass just because you are an indie brand. Most of what I buy is from indie brands and have a lot of experience of many different brands from all sorts of countries not just UK and US. What is clear is that for you receiving damaged orders and for nothing or next to nothing being done is acceptable if you purchased from an indie brand. Good for you. Some of us will continue to expect brands, indie or not, to be and do better. God Bless.
Being a small brand does not give you permission to not look after your customers. If anything if they're small they should look after customers more! I have heard of more than one occasion where glamlite's customer service has sucked
Did you just say Rephr is scratchy? I just bought the entire eye brush set because people swore by how soft they are 😭 and they’re so expensive so I wanted for Black Friday sale.
