for anyone still questioning why Alex Morgan isn't going to Paris, this game should give you a better understanding...
I actually think NOT going to the Olympics is playing on her mind. But yes, although it hurts me, 18 players means we should lonely take the most versatile, in form players available.
What they should do is start giving the player who created the chance to shoot the penalties, that seems fair in a regular game like this.
Much better highlights. Thank you.
Why can't Chicago have a game like that at home for once?
need to be at home against teams failing mentaly
Swanson doing what she does best: shredding defenses.

14 out of 14. The editors might be figuring this out!
And lineups. Can finally up vote one.
And people said Morgan should’ve gone over Macario, how comical
I'd like to know WTH was Dahlkemper of all people thinking on that 3rd goal conceded.
Also, I feel for Morgan. So far this season, it's just been MISERABLE for her. She's only proving Emma Hayes right as to why she was left off the Olympic roster.
I think dahlkemper has done the same thing on the national team. She looks worse after her injury I'm afraid, she is not the same player. As for morgan, she is basically -1 of a player at this point. I've been saying this for years.
@@TheNotoriousNemo I've noticed that Morgan is just slowing down hard. She set the bar really high 2 years ago and now this.
But don't tell that to the Morgan fanatics or they will call for the world to cancel you lol
@@brianchua4240 It's sad but she's at the end of a great career.
Morgan is a legend, but current form has to count for something in selection. I suspect that those outraged over her exclusion don’t watch a lot of club games.
@@metalheadlawyer that's exactly it! People only know Alex from the international stage and have no idea how she performs in regular season games. Unfortunately, she's no longer viable.
Awful moments on defense almost every game for San Diego. There is nothing wrong with kicking the ball out anywhere instead of trying to do too much and give easy goals JUST CLEAR THE DAMN THING!
She looked back and didn't see chicago so thought they had given up. Probably why she didn't pass back to sheridan
kicking the ball out so you're team can set up a defense? what is this La liga F, FA WSL, K-League women, france, sweden, NCAA league?
Much better highlights, thank you!
Swanson’s 2nd goal was a thing of beauty, but I love how she hyped up Joseph for the steal and the assist. And then of course, Joseph had another great steal & goal of her own, making a case for herself!
I do feel bad for Morgan, though. Her contributions to the National team & women’s soccer have been invaluable, but she’s likely in the twilight of her career, maybe even her last season.
Alex Morgan looks like she is lacking confidence.
Just rename the team the Swanson red stars lol
Honestly 😂
Ha! In all honesty though, their defense looked pretty solid, and of course, Joseph is making a case for herself.
It's called CHICAGO RED STARS... JOSEPH PLAYED BETTER THAN SWANSON.. HOW ABOUT JOSEPH RED STARS
@@Traci-or9zt Calm down, All-Caps. It was a joke.
@@Traci-or9zt dude chill lmaooo Swanson is one of the best women soccer players in the USA. Joseph has done nothing close to what she’s accomplished. Let me know how many goals Joseph has scored vs Swanson. I’LL WAIT!
San Diego defenders trying to do too much. Just kick it out of bounds!
Welp that was embarrassing for thr wave. I've been saying how morgan had been for years now, it almost like she doesn't have the drive for this anymore.
The wave need a doctor because they have major problems.
This is what a hi light reel should look like.👏
Barcenas and Shaw looking like the only talented players at San Diego right now.
THANK YOU NWSL for better highlights! Please keep them like this

Booing their own team? Never understood that.
Some fans are pissed off the Coach Stoney got fired.
Very surprising to see with Girma and Dahlkamper. Alex's miss just summed up the game for SD.
Who they gonna fire next?
SD's performance didn't surprise me. They fired their coach in the middle of the season...looks like that definitely affected them on the pitch. SMH
Jaedyn shaw, I was not familiar with your game 😭😭🔥🔥
I honestly don't understand how they called Swanson's 42' goal an Own Goal. That deflection definitely not enough
Mal had Girma in hell 😂.....so glad she's back and healthy for the Olympics. She's going to have an amazing tournament.
Excellent finishing . This sport is really all about that . Aside from good defense .
5:43 Swanson was offside
Lorne Donaldson does not get the credit he deserves. He's not Spanish or British and he's not White. Clearly having Mal Swanson to lead your team is huge. Subbing in Jameese Joseph on Abby's side of the field was (no word gives it justice) big. To be fair Paul Buckle has been in San Diego recently for about three days.
McCaskill, wondering why she switched from a contender (LA) last year to a loser this year.
Morgan, over the hill.
Jameese Joseph work class golazo.
McCaskill's resume
-Sky blue
-Chicago
-Louisville
-Angel City.
-San Diego.
Before her career is over, this girl is going to know the whole country as the palm of her hands, a journey woman.
@@edwinlemus8530 OMG, I had forgotten how many teams she has been on. Reminds me of Jodie Taylor, in one year, out the next. Or Lianne Sanderson, dragging her girlfriend around the world on a saga of ever more obscure women's football clubs.
The offside rule just doesn't apply to Swanson 😅
#2 is an awful defender.. two goals her fault.
We all have days like these so she can't be judged based on this one match
I believe she's done this before in a previous game. She needs to just kick the ball out. Also as a huge fan, she has declined in her skill level.
Dahlkemper was a starter at a World Cup final and won it, so it’s a harsh judgment. But she’s definitely declining
Where are the Alex Morgan crybabies
Well I think the morgan stans FEEL she is still good and should be on the team. But going by her posture and in-game performance for the past few years, she looks bad. I think she needs to retire next year, go out with some dignity.
BWHHAA!!🤣🤣🤣....BWHHAA!!!.....🤣🤣🤣......Alex Morgan sux!!!......Alex Morgan sux!!....BWHHAA!!🤣🤣🤣🤣....we're here, thank you......🤣🤣🤣😂
If anyone watched this game and are still out here talking about Morgan was snubbed…well I can’t help you. And Abby D…oyyy 😢
morgan?.
...went surfing.....
@@kssaint6290 you mean she went"dream surfing"my good friend ? .!!!.
Swanson certainly looked offside on that first Chicago goal, but a deserved victory for the Red Stars.
3:05 Dahlkemper kept her onsides
Great offside decision - Swanson WAS onside at the precise moment the ball was played to her
..for the FIRST goal, but NOT the second, when she was clearly OFFside.
Mal Swanson looks off side on the second goal. They didn't show a replay and they didn't review it for very long, maybe 20 seconds. What effortless acceleration! Amazing recuperative powers. And she plays 90 minutes most games. SMH
Swanson looks at worst level with Dahlkemper on the second goal at the moment the ball is passed. Camera angle will distort, of course, but using the Penalty Area line as a reference I'd say that the AR was correct.
Nope. You didn’t pause it on the kick. The 1st goal was actually closer to being offside than the 2nd, but they were both onside in the end.
❤
Emma Hayes is exonerated from Alex's situation.
why no # 23 bennt.she is a better forward-strikker than the other one!!!.
This game was a girls crying for theyer coach being fired after Winning the Championship!Good for them!Dahlkeper and Morgan are the last World Gold Cup Winners and finished top of the League few month ago🎉🎉❤❤!!!SO,Go haters!😂
❤❤🎉🎉
Were the lines on the field faint in person, too, or just on the TV feed? Not the way a professional field should look. Swanson is going to have a killer Olympics. Held my breath when Morgan went into Naeher with her studs. San Diego just needs this season to be over. The stars they traded for (and opened the club with) are not performing well. Barcenas was a spark- she deserves a start.
Alex give it up go play with your kids
Now u know y u are not going to the olimpics
Refs need a refresher for the offside rules on that first "goal"
Mel Barcenas creates the penalty and Alex Morgan cannot score a simple penalty! What's her worth after all these years and still cannot stay composed and score a penalty for the team! Mel should of taken it.. Why is Morgan still playing maybe politics and entitlement? LOL.. Anyhow, unless they change the line up and figure things out soon they will lose 3-0 again this time to the Thorns FC this coming Friday night. I will be at Providence Park cheering on Thorns.
8:24 isn't this is a kickback and a free kick awarded to san diego? Goalkeeper can't use their hands if a pass was made from their own teammate
Has to be a deliberate pass. In this case, it wasn’t
The passback rule was instituted to eliminate time wasting tactics that teams were using (gk rolls to defender who passes back to gk to pick up, repeat...). In this case it was a save off the line rather than a deliberate pass.
@@johnmcgimpsey1825 thank you
Nike releasing Morgan from their contract? Girma is just not as strong a leader as needed in the back, but her backfield is worse.
She is, but she can’t do it all by herself.
@@TomF18Girma is great but why is her back line a disorganized mess?
@@nottoomuch87 Because it’s not “her” back line. It’s the coach’s, and that of all the defensive players, including Dahlkemper, who’s supposed to be the most experienced.
@@TomF18 She is the leader back there tho. Unless they don't follow her lead.
@@nottoomuch87 Yeah, she’s only leader because she’s the best. It’s ultimately the coach’s job to get them functioning as a unit, though.
