Love and respect for this beautiful music... a note about identity, the west has managed to divide and make us hate who we are. The definition of Arab (Britannica): one whose native language is Arabic. We are not European, we are Mediterranean and we share a lot with other Mediterranean people in Europe. Its also Middle East and North Africa, so I would say Emel is a beautiful African Mediterranean Arab woman, but I respect if her own journey has led her to a different understanding and to not want to associate with Arab even though her Arabic is perfect :) Palestine

What a voice! Great compositions and multi-instrumentalist. Found it through performance for the Nobel Prize and "My Wo(r)ld is Free". Did cry hearing it first time. So moving! Thank you.
But! . . . the interviewer... seriously? Answering his own questions, making assumptions: "A sponge?" Really? ... was not expecting such a low performance. And stop repeating her voice is beautiful - would you do that with male artist as well? ... it made it difficult to listen. You need to do better.
