    I used the black duck tape. I made a belt out of the really strong black duct tape. It is called Gorilla Tape. I put the tape over my underwear. I wear the tight boxer shorts. I put 2 layers of duct tape together, the adhesive sides together, so it will not stick to my underwear. I go under the groin area, and than up and wrap around my waist. This keeps my hernia in place when I work. I was doing this for a while. And notice that my hernia was going away. So I stopped doing this. Now my hernia is back, saying hi to me again and is not going away. I am going to back to the tape again and also going back on a high amino acid diet and take allot of vitamin C. Vitamin C strengthen the immune system, which heals our bodies.. The Muscle is made out of protein. This should repair the muscle. I am hoping. Been praying allot too. God made the earth, the sky, me and you.. So if God made me, I believe God can repair me, without an doubt. I have to keep my faith. Satan comes to steal rob and destroy. He roams around the earth looking who he can devour, looking who he can make sick. But Christ came to restore us. All good things come from God. All bad things come from the destroyer, the one who hates us, Satan. But I am a child of God and so are you. My God is of all power, I am his son, and so are you. My father wants to heal us. But Satan wants to put doubt in our minds,,to second guess God, and to blame God for sickness. God is life . Thank you for your videos. It has restored hope back into me. Peace bro.

      @@GrantMeTopics wow, God is good. He brings people together to encourage each other. What a good God we have. Some people might say if God is so good, why do I have a hernia? Well God did not give me my hernia, I believe satan did. Remember we live here on earth, in a imperfect world, we do things to our bodies that sometimes are not good for are bodies. We eat things that are not good for our bodies, without even knowing, we get caught up into things, that we should not get caught up into, it could bring harm or destruction to our bodies. God tries to show us these things, to tell us, help us, not to judge us. He wants the best for us. He warns us of things, not to do, so we will not get hurt. And when we get hurt by trying to learn on our own ways, without God help or direction, we usually say 2 things, God was right, or we say God did this to us. Well God does not bring sickness or pain to his creation, of love. God just warns us, like a teacher, like a loving parents, so we will reap a beautiful life. Of goodness, health, joy and love.
      The funny thing is you said, keep up the fight. A good funny. I love it. Because a wrote a song a year ago, and put it out on TH-cam. It is called fight the good fight of God. I tell you this ,not because I am looking for some attention. I tell you this, because, it was like conformation to my ears. I pray for you brother. That you would have great healing, in your body. You will go forward in life. You will be drawn even closer to your loving father. And God will use you, for his glory in his great ways. Bless you. With so much love, your brother Gene. God bless. ❤

      Amen! So true. He is taking what the enemy meant for evil and He’s turning it for our good and for His glory!
      That’s really cool how what I said was similar to your song title. I’m a songwriter too.
      I really appreciate your prayers! Since Tuesday the hernia has gone from being about the size and length of half a sausage into my scrotum to now being almost the size of 1/3 of my pinky finger! It’s miraculous! Halleluyah!
      I’m praying for you too, brother.

      @@GrantMeTopics Hey man, I wanted to get back to you. I am praying for you. I am. Good prayers. I want you healed. You are probably already healed. Let me explain. Satan, messes with the brain. Putting doubt and unbelief into our minds. This is not a sin. This a plan of satan. He is a liar. He knows how our minds work, he cannot read our minds. But only can read our minds by the words we speak outloud. So if we say something negative outloud. Satan has heard it. And that is where satan will start living to our minds. He will use our own words as a blueprint to try to destroy us all. This is why he goes after the mind, with bad thoughts, or negative thoughts. He knows that God has given us, a beautiful and great mind. A mind that can heal, our bodies through Christ.
      That the chemicals in our mind can bring destruction or healing to our bodies. But God talks to our hearts. That is where Christs lays. Our hearts. That is where all good is. In our hearts. That is why our hearts feel so much. Our hearts feel so many experiences. Our hearts feel love, our heart feel joy, our hearts feel excitement, or heart feel compassion, I hearts feel sorrow when we go through hurt in life. But our hearts our the try life. This is where God talks to us. It feels good. But the mind is full of confusion. Always trying to make sense of things, analyzing things antalizing situations and life, listening to the news or other people. If we could only shut our minds off, our lives would be so different. So successful in the things of God and for this world where God has put us. We are his babies. He loves us. He is for us not against us. Even when we sin. God is for us. Meaning, God knows your heart. We do not want to sin, we feel terrible, if we feel that way. That is called true repentance. That means the holy spirit is living in your heart. Well I said allot.
      Great to hear you are getting better. Also awsum to hear that you are a song writer, that is pretty cool. Maybe you can write me some songs. I am thinking of getting back into it. For the Glory of God, because he is such a good God. And I am finding this out. God bless you brother. ❤👍🎸🎸🎸

    Just wanted to share my experience with taping my hernia. It worked pretty well, the hernia didn‘t hurt with the tape, though sometimes, I think the hernia popped out a little bit, just not as much as without the tape. The first time I did it, I had the tape on for two days, on one side. After taking it of I had a very strong pain in my back. I think my muscles in the back tried to compensate something. Also I experienced some light skin irritation, when I left the tape for too long. So how I do it now: I only tape, when I know I will be physically active and want to protect my hernia. I never wear the tape longer than half a day. I don‘t shave. I just trim down to 1mm. And after taking off the tape i apply some oil. This way I don‘t get any skin irritation. I hope this helps. Thanks again, Logan for your inputs!
    For me it has been a difficult time having the hernia and despite pilates training and taking good care, I decided to go for surgery. I talked to several doctors, osteopaths, and other alternative therapists and came to the conclusion that a surgery is the better option for me. (Or a miracle... still waiting for it 😌) As a father, with a son that gets heavier every month it is important that I can use my body without being afraid of the hernia popping out... still I admire everyone who goes a path without surgery.

      Cut down on the exercises.
      Improve your diet: More grains and vegetables, less fat, and animal protein.

    I really appreciate all of the detailed info that you provided in terms of how to apply the tape.
    I've also had skin irritation when using KT tape. My chiropractor uses FlexU tape which seems to be gentler on my skin, and he said that he uses FlexU for this very reason, after trying a few different tapes (he mentioned KT and Rocktape). I've found FlexU to be gentler on my skin. At one point the KT tape caused me some really serious issues.

    Thanks for your video Logan - much appreciated. I hadn’t actually seen your video before trying K-T tape myself this morning. I have a direct inguinal hernia, this appeared a week ago after an accident with a step ladder. When I’m lying down it doesn’t protrude at all, however, when I stand it sticks out. I’ve been wearing a inguinal hernia truss/belt for a week, but I found the hard rubber insert in the pocket was quite uncomfortable. Also, of course, the hard rubber insert is actually being pushed through the weak area of (hole in) the abdominal wall. I started thinking what was needed was the external equivalent of the abdominal wall to keep the weak area (the hole) closed - rather than having something that was pushing through the hole. So, after removing excess hair, while laying flat on my bed this morning (so my hernia was not protruding) I used three pieces of K-T tape stretched across the area similar to as you showed. When I stood up after applying the tape my hernia didn’t protrude at all. As an additional support I’ve removed the hard rubber insert from the belt and used a 1 cm thick piece of sponge instead. In fact what I did was place the sponge under my pants where the pieces of tape is centred and then I put the belt on top of my pants and positioned the empty pocket over the sponge. This combination seems to be working very well and is very comfortable. I may not need to use the sponge and belt, maybe just the tape will do - I’ll try that next. Any advice on how long you can leave the tape on before you get skin problems, and how you get the last tape off easily, would be appreciated. I’m obviously not a medical expert, so was concerned that I might be creating problems by using the tape, so I did a search for K-T tape + hernia, and was reassured when I fond your video. Thanks again, Mike.

      @GrantMeTopics  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s funny you say that because I tried that exact same thing; taking the pad out of the truss and putting a sponge in its place.
      I tried to remove the tape before bed so that my skin would have a break while I slept. The longest I left it on before it would bother me much was around two days. I never quite figured out how to use the tape without eventually running into skin discomfort. Sorry I can’t help much with that part. Praying for you!

    I have sensitive skin. My PT would put Milk Of Magnesium over the skin, let it dry and then apply the kttape. It creates a barrier on the skin. The tape doesn't stick as long, but it does prevent breakouts. Always get the tape VERY wet before removing. That will help prevent skin tearing.

    Sounds good. Working from home, I don't normally use anything but my hand for support when the hernia is acting up, but when I go out, I like to wear my regular adjustable (fabric style) belt under my loose clothing - wrapping it lower than my waist.. across my mid-bum area..and insert a small folded cloth between it and the hernia which holds the hernia in. Sounds uncomfortable and unstable but it actually works and I don't mind having to readjust it occasionally throughout the day. Most importantly, it does the trick without having to buy anything. I will play your playlists to help out your numbers. Good luck getting monotized.💕 P. S. I like the beard a lot. If I were you, I would come up with another topic to make videos about. Hernia videos are rather limiting. You may not realise it, so let me be blunt, you have the it factor like a Hollywood actor to easily be able to attract people to your channel. Pick another topic you like and check out the channels doing that topic to see what is working and what isn't. I've been doing videos too, a lot of false starts that didn't monotize. I think I finally figured out what will work for me. I'm gonna do a small house design channel (once I learn how to computerize my small house drawings in 3d with animated walk throughs.) Looking at other channels doing this, I've seen some getting millions of views on their videos and I know what I am going to offer is timely, original, and high quality.. which is why I have decided to focus on that. Whatever you decide to do, you've got my support and I am sure many of your other follower's support as well. 👍

Lie down, so that your hernia is reduced, tape from an inch and a half below the bulge and stretch and tape upwards. The tape will stay on for 4 to 5 days. After about using it for a few months, I was able to go without it. My hernia was still there but it didn't trouble me at all. Using tape or a stupid hernia belt (for me) is a band-aid at best. Other than starving myself. or lying in a reclined position all day, No technique seems to be 100% affective. For me when my Inguinal hernia is trying to hang out, it smashes down against my spermatic cord and the pain almost floors me and takes my breath away until I can reach down and pull it back in. Because I have an extremely active job I have been in constant agonizing pain for the last 7 weeks awaiting surgery. I have been miss diagnosed with both my umbilical and Inguinal hernia since November. It wasn't until the thing actually came out big time and I popped it back in that I was able to put 2+2 together, and finally got it correctly diagnosed. I call them a crap strap cause the only time you should take them off is when you shower or take a crap. Also if you have a hernia one should not big meals and keep your bowels loose and current. This puts less strain on it and keeps it from protruding out and injuring yourself more. Best of luck folks.

    FOLKS PLEASE READ THIS _____________Guys and gal’s let me say something on here right now. I know many of you are scared of having your hernias repaired by a surgeon in a hospital. But I’m gonna say this; folks get it done and get it done now or as soon as possible. Here’s why and I will also lead into your options and can recommend where to go and how to go about this. In six months to a year American in this country anywhere will not be able to even get elective surgery done anywhere. Not even be able to get a tooth pulled. Board members from three of the top ten hospitals have mentioned that this will be the case. The system was hemorrhaging and was in danger of collapsing. And now imagine having an emergency come up because your hernia is out of control and you cant get it operated. Yes I know that fear and yes it is scary and one asks why me. Well I have to say blame the FDA for allowing all these poisons and polymers and GMO’s that are destroying the muscle fibers and collagen production of the human body. And last but not least. Don’t just have any surgeon or hospital do your surgery. FIND YOURSELF a SURGEON who solely SPECIALIZES in this type of surgery. And vett them and their anesthesiologist as well vett the facility they work out of. Most specialists take insurance but if they dont they are not as expensive out of pocket as most would think. Vett their back grounds if they’ve been sued or have any blemishes on their medical record and practice. And last I will say Inguinal hernias can be done under local anesthesia and so can umbilical ones as well. Don’t let these surgeons butcher you into laparoscopic or this BS minimally invasive procedure cause that’s BS! These two procedures run a higher risk or damaging or bumping internal organs and more prone to bleeding and infection. Big name hospitals are pushing this crap and don’t fall for it. You’re worth more to them in parts and lengthy procedures than a fast conscious/ light sedation procedure. Full general anesthesia with these procedure from experience are not for everyone especially if you have a family predisposition to full general anesthesia or a family history. And if they continue to push you into doing it by telling you that they’re gonna take all the precautions and they have the best of whatever. IMHO DON’T F-ING do with them. We turned down 5 major BIG name Hospitals and 7 surgeons until we found the right team. Folks please be careful and do your due diligence and vett these healthcare people and facilities very good and please don’t put things off. We all get scared I know cause we’ve lost all the trust in the medical and health care system BUT THE PATIENT IS THE BOSS and it’s the patients way or nothing. If you’re worried about the stab. You have rights and ask what are they going to be putting into your body during the procedure and do your research on them as well. You don’t want an anesthesiologist giving you something that could put you at risk AND YES REQUEST TO MEET WITH THE ANESTHESIOLOGIST DAYS BEFORE THE PROCEDURE and ask away and vett them as well and don’t go by internet reviews those are fake. Best of luck and G-D Bless 🙏

    Hey Logan, still going strong with the exercises, and other things every week! I can noticeably see a difference in my abdominal strength surrounding the hernia now, and continue wearing the comfort truss belt everyday while not sleeping to keep it in. I’ve noticed even with the belt on though, and my improved posture, I can only keep it reduced to about 10-20% of what it is without the belt. The only time it stays completely in is while lying on my back. Your case seems to be the only one I’ve seen where you don’t wear a belt overall, but were able to prevent your hernia from popping out all day while standing. Did you notice some days are better than others, like maybe the progress is not a clear upwards slope? Despite my best efforts, I do feel a little discouraged on the days where I feel slight pain, which is very rare, or can feel it wanting to pop out more than other days where I feel improvement. Hey, Ken!
      I’m glad to hear that!
      That’s interesting because I’ve run into the same problem. My Hernia used to stay in without a support, but it got worse for different reasons so I’ve been trying to find a solution. It’s been a bit discouraging, because something that I realized is that hernia supports (in my experience) don’t work well for indirect inguinal hernias, but they seem to work fine for direct inguinal hernias.
      I’ve been more encouraged lately since changing the angle in which I’m taking care of the hernia. Some things I’ve been doing a lot the last couple days has been castor oil packs and sort of a holding crunch while on an inversion table, and those two things seem to be helping a little.
      I hope this helps. Hang in there!

      Thanks for the reply, I’ll look into doing the caster oil. I’ve heard that ice packs work great too, so I just started doing those. I’ll definitely keep you updated when I reach an improvement. The biggest thing that encourages me is watching yours and George’s videos often. I’ve seen most of the content already, but just rewatching them kinda of resets my mind to stay positive, and keep going. Just know that there are a lot of people probably watching you that don’t comment, and just knowing we are not alone in this makes all the difference in the world. Best wishes!

      Thanks for saying that, comments like those are what help me keep going and continuing to make videos.

    Hi Logan, I'm new to this channel and it's great to find a channel like this. I have been dealing with my inguinal hernia since 2015. I didn't realize what it even was for quite a while because I don't think mine presents normally. I don't need any sort of support, I can walk, run, lift or do whatever but it feels so awkward, is sometimes painful but it doesn't really move around. I have wondered if it is really a hernia but I've been told twice by 2 separate institutions that it is actually a hernia. Intuition led me to castor oil so I'm about to try my first castor pack. I think that I may get the surgery but I want to see if maybe the castor pack will help. Have you heard of hernias that present like this?

    • @GrantMeTopics
      @GrantMeTopics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I’d probably just cancel with that surgeon and use one that will do a non-mesh procedure. Or I would tell him that if he’s not willing to do it without mesh then I’ll go somewhere else. Make sure he won’t use mesh though, because my dad has surgery for an umbilical hernia and they told him he didn’t need mesh, but then without his consent they put mesh in while he was under.

    Did yours stay bulged out or would go back in and then started to get worse? A few days ago I felt a small bulge in my lower left abdomen while lying on my back.I was shocked and tried to feel what it was, and while doing that it dissapeared. It happened again the next night. I haven't felt it since..but I'm not always checking. I have some slight aches around that area sometimes (felt it half asleep this morning). I also have been having a month of gastro issues like painful cramps relieved by burping, bloating and feeling extra full after meals. Thanks

      No, I've always been able to push the hernia back in. If it get's to a point that it can't be pushed back in, then that person needs to go to the emergency room. I've dealt with similar intestinal issues, especially early on with the hernia. Some things that help is taking care of your gut health, eating slowly, properly chewing your food, and not drinking liquids until about an hour after you eat.

    I am 66. Had my second inguinal hernia since 2008. My hernia/intestine slips under the tight tape and down into my scrotum. No good for me. Maybe Gorilla tape with a small 1/2 round or less ball. I have been using a gun holster on a gun belt with a ball or something inside the holster. It does not keep it perfectly in. For 13 years I keep shoving it back in. I swim three days a week for 1/2 hour. I spent $200 on a girdle with two pads from England. Pure garbage and waste of money. They refused to fix the problem. They want $6000 to fix it. $300 or so because of HMO plus medicare. This is a frustrating work in progress. A guy in California sells a comfrey pasted leaf that comes frozen. Use it every day. I have not done this. Then there is Hernicare and I have not tried that either. I have become gun shy or the hernia cures that cried wolf. Keep on trying yall.

    So the tape allegedly compresses the hernia so it doesn't bulge?

    • @GrantMeTopics
      @GrantMeTopics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but it is largely dependent on the severity of the the hernia. The tape worked pretty well for me at first, but once my body would no longer keep the hernia in on its own at all, the tape proved ineffective. The hernia I had before Jesus healed it was an indirect inguinal hernia, which made it very difficult to hold in with any kind of truss.

      @ I’ve had that same experience. They work fine if you make sure to check your hernia often, and try to lay on your back at least once every hour and take in about 5 deep breaths, but blow out as much air as you can, that will engage your transverse abdominus. I’ve been using this method the last few days while trying out the Comfort Truss again and have seen positive results!

    Alright guys, I haven’t been officially diagnosed but whenever I play basketball or any quick stop and go sports in general, I’ll get a blocking feeling just to the side of my right testicle (TMI but pertinent TMI). It doesn’t necessarily hurt but certainly feels like somethings there and eventually goes away after a couple hours when I’m done playing. It’s more of a dull, infrequent ache when it’s there, no sharp pain. Probably a 2/10 annoyance pain with the “blocking” being the main irritant. Inguinal hernia or something else?

      No worries. As far as background, I’m only speaking from my own experience. And I’m no professional either, but I’ll sometimes get this cramping feeling where the hernia used to be and all I have to do is find my spermatic cord, then gently & slowly pull on it to stretch out the knot. Most of the time the discomfort subsides afterwards. I dealt with it even before the hernia, often times when I was working out or doing yard work.

    It is new and very sore, I have been signed off work for 10 days on Docs advice to let it settle down. I am a bit concerned, after lying down for a while, when I stnd up there is fluid under the skin around the hernia, when I press gently on the area, its kind of squelchy, is this normal?

    • @GrantMeTopics

      Mine used to make squelching noises in the area of the hernia as I would massage it back in. As far as fluid around the hernia, I’m not sure if I had that or not. I don’t remember thinking that, but we could just be seeing it differently.
