Excellent schematics and dynamics. I've consulted various hospital sites and the National Library of Medicine for much information and drawings. This and your inguinal canal video bring together a lot of verbiage into a conceivable whole for the nonprofessional. Thanks.
I appreciate you making these videos ssoooooooooo much but there aren't many of them. 3D learning is what works best for me. I hope you make more of them. Best of luck.
Thank you for the great videos. However I just want to say that a direct inguinal hernia does not pass through the superficial ring. It comes out through a weak spot on the posterior wall of the inguinal canal. And while it is true that the indirect inguinal hernia comes out via the deep ring, it can traverse the entire length of the inguinal canal and exit through the superficial ring into the scrotum.
Wow... You have got your concepts clear mate... Also made mine clear. Thank you. Just wanted to ask which software do you use ? For Anatomy and for video editing ?
Hey Saviero, thanks for the support mate : ) I'm working on a video about the peritoneum at the moment (thanks to your recommendation haha), hopefully we'll have it up in the next month. All the best, Reuben
Hello, you said that in the case of Indirect hernia, the intestine meets the External Oblique which is strong, and therefore it moves down through the canal. But in the Direct hernia, you said the intestine goes through all layers. How can it push through all layers if those layers include strong layers like the external Oblique? It's difficult to see how pushing through all the layers does not destroy the canal and crush its contents.
Hey great video ! I understood a lot , just one question : In the indirect hernia, hernia goes NEXT TO or INSIDE spermatic cord in inguinal canal ;p ? Always wondering , and my books say different each one... thanks for answer !
This is an inaccurate representation of the location of the testes in relationship to the peritoneal cavity and the processes vaginalis. The testes does not sit in the processes vaginalis, these are retroperitoneal and descend posterior to the processess.
Hey there, thanks for your thoughts! This is what I have found: "The relationship of the testis to the peritoneal cavity, and hence its position as an intraperitoneal or extraperitoneal organ, remains controversial. Adult anatomy texts favour an extraperitoneal position during and after testicular descent, whereas journal articles favour an intraperitoneal position. " Published in Paediatric Surgery Intl. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15756559
About Medicine intraperitoneal doesn't mean inside the peritoneal cavity. It means covered in peritoneum More thn retroperitoneal. Your videos are beautiful, this is just an area which can be confusing.
It has been 4yrs I’m hearing the word inguinal hernia. Today, finally I understood how it looks like
Thanks
I am a surgery sho from Ireland and I just want to let you know that you are the best teacher on this planet.

Wow! Thank you so much. I finally understand the inguinal canal and hernias. Amazing explanation!

Hey Harshit,
I use a program called Blender for modelling, then Quicktime to capture the video.
Thanks for watching! : )
