    That's quite a day, hiking over Kearsarge twice. Good Job!!

      Thank you! It was definitely one of the hardest days. Before I did Kearsarge Pass, I didn't really comprehend how far it descended into Onion Valley haha

    Holy moly Kearsarge Pass twice AND Glen pass in a day? Dang you're a machine! 👊

      Definitely a little crazy haha! Probably one of the hardest days physically on trail for me!

    Enjoying your journey. For sure a challenging day. To Onion valley and back, then over Glenn pass (my favorite pass on the JMT) ….. impressive, you are a stud!

      Definitely a hard day! My views on Glen Pass may or may not be skewed by it being my third pass of the day haha - maybe I'll like it next time I do it!

    My son an I did the same resupply point on our NOBO of the JMT. We stayed overnight though in Lone Pine so we only had to do Kearsarge once and Glen in the same day.. you did three passes in one day… Awesome accomplishment!!

      Staying in Lone Pine sounds like a good choice! I'm not sure I recommend doing the three passes in one day haha, definitely type 2 fun.

    Impressive that you did a resupply and kept hiking. I'm heading to Rae Lakes later this year, which will be my first experience in the area. Not excited to hear you think it was the least favorite pass, but the views down below seem worth it.

    Great videos. Thank you for sharing. Can you tell me how cold it got at night and what you used for a sleeping bag/quilt. My daughter and I are going in August of this year and I am wondering what to get her for a quilt (temperature rating).

    • @ErinExploring
      @ErinExploring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you!! The coldest nights were definitely the last couple days on trail (around August 19/20ish) when it got below 30 degrees Fahrenheit at Thousand Island Lake and Tuolumne Meadows campground. I brought my Hammock Gear Premium Burrow 20 degree quilt with +1 oz of overstuff which I was SO happy I had when it did get cold suddenly. Most of the other nights I was more than warm enough with my quilt (sometimes even too warm), but it was definitely needed those last couple days.

    how was hitching to and from the onion valley trailhead? did you just walk around asking for a ride and was it easy to find a ride?

    • @aeropilot4419
      @aeropilot4419 ปีที่แล้ว

      … a pretty girl with a backpack will get a ride quickly … seriously though, there are many kind people at trailheads … hikers, fishermen, and locals that have a shuttle side hustle or just do it out of kindness to others

    what camera(s) did you use to do your filming?

    • @ErinExploring
      @ErinExploring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For video, I primarily used my iPhone Mini 12 because it stabilized the video way better than my camera.
