Don't forget your towel! The hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: ""A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have"
I travel very often and a trick I learned to save space and to protect objects is to wrap things in your clothing. For example some of your devices, controllers or even charging cords can be wrapped in a shirt or sweater, and then that can be put in the packing cube or wherever. Plus socks and small articles of clothing can be stuffed in other cloths or in shoes :-D its been a huge space saver for me, I used to bring a large suitcase when I traveled and now i bring either a small one or just a second carry-on. I hope this tip will help you! Have a great time!! This sounds like such a fun time 😄
As a homebody who can't get up the courage to travel myself, I'm so excited to follow your adventures, Dina! I'm looking forward to seeing where you guys choose to go and what the cultures are like there! And most importantly, what art these places inspire you to do! ❤️
Such a wonderful, amazing and lovely vlog again! It was so fun seeing the stuff you value most and stuff that you'll pack :D Interesting to see someone's almost entirel ife fits into a few bags and such!
I love to sit down at my desk, play some of your videos in the background, and start sketching out some new drawings!! I don't normally watch vlogs, but I find it really fun to settle in and get to see how you're doing!! Have fun in Norway!!
tbh I don't think she owes anyone an explanation I think its nice that she took a chance and changed her lifestyle simply because she wanted and needed it. kudos to you Dina your taking a big leap I hope all is well on your travels!!!
I'm really excited to see what you get up to as I'm from Newcastle too and would love to be a nomad. So many of us are working from home now and paying huge rent/mortgages so i think its going to become much more the norm. good luck!
I've just been doing planning for possible colleges while watching the vlogs. It's so easy to do things while listening to Dina talk and ramble. I also love that she pronounces Bose as bo-say. the company specializes in aviation headsets (as well as typical headphones) and it's pronounced boze. It's probably among the weirdest things to make me smile. My boyfriend is in training to be a pilot, so he has a headset from them.
I always wear a tee shirt, hoodie, and a jacket on airplanes. I get cold... but also, I use the pockets of my jacket to shove all my small items in so I can quickly get through security. Passport, keys, money, cell phone.... all of it, in the jacket. I don't carry a purse or else everything would go in there. :) I also employ alot of space saving packing techniques so I can just do a carry on only.
Hey there 2 words that stood out to me Artist AND digital nomad. At the stage in my life where last month gave away 1 boot full of stuff to charity. - felt SO GOOD. Another boot to go. I am a female Artist with grownup children whose first business venture was Handmade greeting cards- did really well. Then started drawing and painting again. Decluttering while watching videos. 😊
Everything that you packed really seems to be right on par! I miss being in your streams but life got a bit busy in somethings. It made my face hurt with the biggest smiles seeing both this and your last video! I know that you've been wanting to do this for sometime now - so it really made me so excited to keep up with your journey in these vlogs! And as far as, 'having no idea what you're doing' - I can really relate. I may not be traveling - but I have been up to things of my own since you last saw me in streams. I talked to a family member about it yesterday in fact, being somewhat overwhelmed and trying to do better than I did the day prior. He told me that he had a rough start to but then he got the hang of it. Sorry for the ramble - it just made me so happy to see that not only are you following what you wanted to do - but in some way, 'not knowing what we're doing' even in different ways - is very comforting.
Ohhh yayyy!! Norway time! I feel sad that your leaving this house but also so, so excited for your adventures!!! Also I wanted to say that I'm happy for you doing what you're doing and keep doing what makes you feel happy and safe :))
I find this a fun video while at the same time it's giving me anxiety as well. Not about the travelling, i absolutely love that you're adventurous enough to do this and I'm absolutely certain you'll stay as safe as reasonably possible. It's more about the whole, packing your entire life up into 2 basically carry on items! I mean how do you do it? So you have like a cabinet somewhere secretly stashed with more items? Or did you actually got rid of everything else? Like photos or books or treasured items? My mind is in overdrive at the moment 🤣
Being on home soil is a good place to start and if you're going to be there for a few months, then who knows? The covid situation could be very different by late Autumn/winter. 😊 I bet you edited that luggage before you went. 😊 Like you say, you can always buy anything you really need once you're settled in Oslo. 😊 Hope you have a good flight. 😊 ✈
I working on a 3-5 year plan to transition to being a digital nomad - I'm waiting for my kids to graduate high school/college. Looking forward to watching your journey!
As long you take good care of the MacBook Pro, it will last longer. I just put my late 2008 model to rest a few weeks ago. I'm now using a mid-2019 model for school. Good luck with your travel now.
That's really cool, so you're not moving to a new house, but you're going to travel around? I wish I could do that! Be safe out there, and I hope you enjoy it! :D
Yep! It's like a middle ground between staying and renting and travelling fast. I'm really excited to see what happens and if I'll like it! Honestly I don't know yet :D
Heyy good luck on your travel! Btw you should bring more warm socks, you never know! you might be in a place where it's pretty cold. Just a tip! Have a safe trip! I'm excited to see your new adventures!
I could not get away with a suitcase that small. Then again I have a lot of skin issues, injuries and chronic health stuff to deal with. So I have stuff like heat pads, diabetic supplies, nerve pain salve, inhalers, very specific toiletries that are hard to find and a boatload of medications and supplements. I’m high maintence but not in a particularly fun way. Lol
As a person who likes to go through people's bags I thank you for letting us snoop through your luggage 😂 Are you and your boyfriend travelling to Norway at different times or together? It wasn't 100% clear in the vid and I was interested to know if you had to stagger your flights for some reason.
SmallTownSpells haha same!! I love knowing what people bring 😂 I’m dying first to spend 2 weeks in Oslo with my parents and he’ll spend 2 weeks with his! Just because I wanted to see mine and he had some stuff to do a there. It’s a bit sad because we don’t like being apart, but it’s only two weeks so we’ll survive ☺️ If the situation gets worse he’ll fly to Norway ASAP though!
My Mac Laptop was...7 years old and I didn't add him lil feet, and I should because yes it did overheat. it overheats so much that it melted the charger that the lil metal cables cut off and burned. I am...so friking lucky, that it didn't catch on fire. It just stopped charging so I turned everything off to conserve the battery until I get a replacement. I only knew that it was melt and burned when I tried to fix the charger cable and removed the tap around it (I had taped it because my cat chewed it and it had lots of punctuation everywhere.)
You probably already done this by now but double check with the airline about rules for electronics. I wanna say there something about not having anything with a lithium battery in checked luggages. Any whooooo.....Excited to see your next adventure.🤩
Ack!! Hard drives go in carry on when possible, I speak from experience, they can get pretty banged up in checked luggage. Those bags can get a beating 🙁
Looking forward to next vlog :). I was wondering would you consider doing some "stories" on instagram(I think youtube has them too) between the vlogs, just so we can see snippets of your adventures until we get the full thing here?
I hope you you will try to live in Prague for a while. It's so nice here and it would be awesome to have chance to meet you in person. Although I wish you great time during your digital nomad life. It's sound really adventurous. Can't wait for more vlogs.:) Have a good time and all the wishes, Ely
Interesting. You pronounce Oslo as my wife and I do. However, when we visited Norway years ago, the people at Sandefjord airport seemingly had no idea what we were saying. Apparently, locally, they pronounce it "Ooo-slow" and not "Ah-slow", and the difference was too significant for them. It was a rough night. :(
Hi, Dina. I'm a huge fan about your random creature designs. Do you have any tips for a 'beginner' to make animals more realistic and how to draw the fur? I have always loved to draw but can't quite seem to get as good as you or even close. I would like to get a response.
Ion know if it’s different in the uk but knowing she’s gonna have to take all those electronics out of her carry on triggers me since I travel with so many electronics I know the struggle
I hope she backs up that laptop. There is no "feeling like it's going to die" it will just be toast oneday especially if u have over heating issues. It's gonna go soo. Back up often and regularly. I had done the same thing and lost a lot of stuff.
I feel mixed about this process. You are a great inspiration for art and its fun to see your progress. But the earth is going through a health crisis. As you said the moving is the worse part and it doesnt seem like this will change a few months from now.
She answered that in another comment so I will repeat best I can! she said that he would spend two weeks with his parents while she spent two weeks with her parents in Norway and then he would fly to Norway after the two weeks or sooner if problems come up. Hopefully that answers your question?

Oof I thought that was a South Park reference. “Don’t forget your bring a towel .” -Towelie
I love you for making this comment
I really love Dina Norlund, she is always so calming to watch, her art is amazing and you can tell she is just a really nice person

I want to be able to be a nomad artist. It seems like it would be so inspiring. To take in a new place every couple months.
Cant wait for the next video congrats on the Norwegian snow cat prince and I hope you are safe and healthy.

Even with out the eyeshadow and eyeliner you are beautiful just the way you are!!
Where do you put your art, sculptures and decorative stuff? Do you storage it?
Sold most of it or gave it away! 😁 Keeping some but most of it’s gone haha, I don’t really get attachment much to things

Omg that's such a hazard! I'm glad nothing bad happened :0 Definitely after 5 years it gets more and more dangerous haha

you seem so chill, always travelling would stress me out so much ... my goal is to be settled in my own house xD and we're the same age I think
Yayyy I get 37:32 minutes of fun drawing time!
*wow* I was *actually* first 👁👄👁
I'm never even first on my own videos 😂

D o o d l e yes I am! Thanks so much 😊

(Some big ass bags)

fuzzydragons thank you! Just in time, I fly tomorrow 😂
wasn't sure if it was too late, glad that its not 🙂 hard drives are so sensitive, the less they get tossed around the better 🙂
Yey another draw with me😀

NEED the running headphone things! been looking for something like that, what are they called?
Where did you buy that Silicon-thing for the Apple pen? And does it feel better to draw with a glove on the ipad
Hello! Do you already have the video of your portfolio before and after taking the FZD? Thankieeee! ☺️
Wow, this is really interesting. I'm looking forward to the journey!
Love this :) are you gonna review what you brought with you in some time?
Definitely! 😁
I saw Denis!! (From Kacey Golden's channel) 16:39
Love the video 💕. By the way, where did u buy the Apple Pencil grip or rubber thingy that is around your Apple Pencil?

Does the apple pen come with the ipad? I am looking to getting one with the pen.

Y a México cuando?
Yall gonna sell your house? Or are you still gonna live there but just travel alot more
We’re renting so it makes it super easy to move ☺️ But yes, we won’t have a “home” where we travel from!
You’re traveling during covid? Is that a smart decision?
You might want to consider watching the video, she addresses this question at least twice.
She talks about this pretty early on in the video
Jildou Talman even with her answer, i am still wonder how safe this is
Where are you from?
She is fro Norway
