This is my favorite way of retouching portfolio shoots for models. All the benefits of working on raw metadata without huge Tiff files. It also staves off color shifts from a heavy dodge/burn since it's just metadata. One thing that may help: I also add a helper layer at the top completely filled where I've dragged Saturation all the way down so I can dodge and burn without color, same as what I'd do in PS. Then just turn the layer off when I'm done.

Some trained there eyes to see the difference without help layers. I always heard Women can see colors better then Men also 😊. I do agree with you as I’m blind, so i use them for everything
PS: Kayleigh images are so good, barely any retouching is needed

Doing so saves so much disk space on your computer as you dont need to create another file and you can make this as an "action" just like photoshop. Thanks for the video!

Great video.. when hiding the mask does it mean hide the round dot that showes that I have an adjustment layer brush on my image, It can somtimes be In the way so I can't see where I'm painting. ?

I do think for visibility reasons adding your curved layer to a filled layer to see what you can get then clearing the mask is a better step for me. I can see exactly how to curve adjust the image more precisely with both dodge and burn layers. Good video though. I find I use other programs less all the time especially with the addition of luma masking as well.

@Kayleigh Why didn't you made the dodge/burn curves on the Luma tab? If I'm not mistaken Luma doesn't affect colors or saturation. I like the Luma tab a lot for that reason.
