    Also, I'm guessing this is probably from a VHS, Beta or former format. Archival material. Thank you for preserving this & uploading.

    Tom Brokaw throws out the "what if" towards the end of the video. OK, the Air Force was taken out of the picture from the get go for whatever reasons. Many speculations regarding that. But I've read some stuff that if true, is even worse than the Air Force having their hands tied. At Norfolk VA, there was supposedly a aircraft carrier docked for repairs. So if true, the fighters had to be either on the carrier or at NAS Chambers. Fighters out of Otis were sent out over the ocean to begin with. The next closet fighters would have been from this carrier so the Navy might have been able to get airborne and get to New York.

    They talked about how things would have been different if United Airlines Flight 93 had never taken off that day. I would like to remind everyone that the situation would have been a lot worse if United 93 had taken off on time or with just a few minutes late. We should also give credit to the other people on board that day who waited until they were flying over a rural area to avoid killing any innocent person on the ground. Even to this day I still shudder whenever I think about what could have happened if United 93 had departed on time. In an interview former Vice President Mike Pence said that he believes that the people on board United 93 saved his life that day. I would have to agree with his statement adding that we will never know exactly how many lives they saved that day. And not just the lives of elected officials and their staff or other people who work in those areas. There are also tourists or school children and their teachers on a field trip etc.

No way could they put the fires out. Even if the towers don't collapse it would have took hours to fight the fire while at the same time checking and clearing floors.

    • @jimbobeire
      @jimbobeire 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Easy to say now that we know it was suicide missions. But usually a hijacking didn't require that much of a reaction, cos hijackings usually meant hostages, landing somewhere and negotiating. Grounding every single plane is a huge task, but halting more take offs would have made things easier.
      What was a much simpler task was the idea one guy had, just send a message to all pilots "lock the cockpit door".
      By the time they figured out AA11 was hijacked, UA175 and AA77 were already in the air, but still being flown by the crew. The crew of UA175 heard the radio transmission from AA11 as well, but they never imagined that they were at risk, and a few minutes after, they were rushed by hijackers coming through an open door.

    No one is commenting on the fact, that a senior FAA controller supervisor destroyed the audio tape, and put different pieces of the tape in different trash cans in there building! This is very revealing due to the fact of the unusual circumstance that occurred on 9/11. Further that audio tape would have been used to establish not only the time line of the events, but what was actually said and what was the actual protocol that had to occur that did not occur. The planners and orchestrates to cause what occurred on 911 remain as a ghost. But if you do the research with critical thinking. You will learn this. 1. This was a very well staged event. 2. It had to require our federal government to be completely involved. 3.It had to require military defense contractors. 4.There was a group that was hired in the TV news media, federal government, that were to promote the deception right after the event, and for many days, weeks after the event! 5. It had to require foreign government involvement Canada, and Israel. 6. Lastly it had to require certain high ranking government personnel within the president's cabinet that committed treason!
    That really sad part, they got away without, and a certain group that planned this event walked away with billions of our tax dollars. And the day before 9/11 Rumsfield stated we are missing 3.2 trillions dollars!

      Former Marine. You need to tighten up on your facts. The tapes were not of ATC communications. The FAA guy, a chap called Kevin Delaney, interviewed the controllers who had radio comms with the aircraft. It was this taped interview that was destroyed.
      Unions did not usually allow interviews after incidents , only written statements. The interview was permitted on the grounds that the tape would not be stored after the contents had been analysed. Delaney took it upon himself, unwisely, to destroy it. A stupid move in hindsight.

    • @pauldunn5978
      @pauldunn5978 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For reasons of accuracy I will correct myself. Kevin Delaney was the FAA guy who destroyed the tapes but not the guy who conducted the interviews. Doesn't change the rest of what I said though. A poorly thought-out move to reduce the pressure on ATC union members.
