Looks good with the wedge soles. My preference would be with a black wedge to reduce the contrast on this boot/ taking away the focus on the chromexcel blk leather
Just when I thought grantstone boots couldn’t get better, you nailed it !!! Grantstone should be looking at this redo and taking notes !!! Beautiful!!!!
That's the boot I want... I kinda think the wedge soles don't look very good... but I think I would like the comfort. I thought about getting a pair of Thursday diplomats with the wedge sole, then having them resoled... but now they make a few with the regular lug sole.
It’s just preference, I have 2 more pairs of the brass boot with commando soles, and as I mentioned they make the very same boots with wedge soles. To me this is more casual And a bit more comfortable Thanks for watching Sir.
Such great videos, such skill, an expert in yer trade. The thorough explanation from start to finish on construction and changes keeps me coming back. I wish ye were in Scotland. I also love the personal touch with multilingual explanations in the videos that no one else seems to do .
When you give the introduction speech in English and Spanish, this reminds me of the old WWF days when Tito Santana would give his speeches in English and Spanish.

They look really good. I have 5 GS boots, 3 Brass, 1 Ottawa and 1 Chelsea. I got rid of all my Redwings but 2. Kept an Iron Ranger and a Blacksmith to ride my Harley. Also kept one pair of Truman green Kudu.
Fantastic boots! I just sit here and say WOW. I prefer wedge soles because I am old and have foot and back issues, and the wedge soles really do help me have less pain. Further, these are very good-looking boots on their own, but I agree, the wedge would be my choice. Maybe a black wedge? No matter, great job. They look sharp.
Those came out fantastic! The wedge soles don't look like the normal cream color. Are they darker? What brand wedge is that? Also, the midsole looks very thick. Did you use the same one you always use? They look great! Great job, Aaron!!!👍
They are A bit darker, I don’t like the regular ones either cause they get dirty just by looking at them 😅😅 They’re the WALKBASE wedge soles slightly softer than Vibram Christy and yes I did use the same midsoles Thanks 🙏
I just got a pair of their Chelsea boots and love them. I don’t mine the soles they come with but to each their own. I love your content and I’ll definitely be sending you my Chelsea’s when they need a resole!
Not a big fan of wedge sole, but I completely get where you're coming from. My GS boots are the most difficult to break in and not as easy on my feet as other brands like Alden. Also, I might have a small project for you if you can fix heel stacks. I live close to East LA.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Brass Boots...but I don't wear them often because those heavy lug soles aren't that comfortable when I gotta be on my feet all day. I end up reaching for my Field Boot, Origin Maine, or Thorogood wedge sole boots instead of the fine Brass Boot because of the all-day comfort factor. Sad, because I'm always reaching for my Diesel and Ottawa boots in casual/office situations. I'd consider resoling them, but only with a black outsole. Enjoyed.
My least favorite thing about wedge soles is that they’re typically white. I hate white soles because they get dirty so quickly. These however could look so cool on so many different boots. The new Red Wing Iron Ranger Traction Tread would look awesome in this color sole. Nice work as always.
It's most likely there to prevent squeaking if I had to guess. It's not unusual for nicer footwear to have thin layers of fabric or paperboard between some of the leather layers for that purpose.
You’re not “ruining” the boots, you’re recrafting them to your needs/wants. There’s a big difference. They’re beautiful!
Thank You 🙏

Agreed 💯
That wedge color looks great with the welt and midsole.
That end result is absolutely Gorgeous. Wow!
🙏

Buena tarde desde la CDMX. Hola Aaron.
Beautiful! Great job, the wedge sole looks a little thicker than most I like that.
Thank you,
It’s slightly thicker than Christys
Been waiting for this video good stuff man 👍

🖐🏻👊 gracias Romulus
the paper liner between the insole and the midsole is to prevent squeaking.
Those look Awesome!
¡Te quedaron bien chingonas!
Gracias mi buen Silver, un saludó 🖐🏻
Great job Aaron! They look awesome! 👏👏🔥
Gracias mi buen Will
You have some of the best cobbler content on TH-cam! A true artisan. I also like the more beige wedge vs the regular cream white ones!
Thank you so much!
Also, they're less dirty.

I really liked these over Red Wing
thanks.
Those look great with the wedge sole!! Grant Stone makes really nice boots!! Your modded boots look dope!!
🙏

Thanks a lot , I just don’t like black on Black, I have other light color boots that could use a black wedge.
@@AaronG2480 That is cool. We like what we like and that makes us individuals.
@@sisleymichael 😀👍
At least nobody has the same ones right 😅
Thanks for watching Sir.
DAMN them things look HOT🔥🔥🔥🔥
love your work! Solid!
🙏
looks incredible! Love that you chose the storm welt and sand colored sole.
🙏
Gracias a tí, por hacer estos vídeos!
🙏
Beautiful boots!
Nice job! I’ll bet they’d look good with a black sole too.
Perfection!
🙇
As an apprenticing cobbler, love this recraft! Looks fantastic, buddy!
Sir....I'm not a wedge sole kinda guy but these look absolutely mint...well done.
Nice work ! Are they a little lighter now?
Those lugged soles seem to be what adds the extra weight to the Brass boot.
Thanks Jeff
They’re are the same,
Sturdy boots definitely
Really nice job!!
🙏🙏
My name is David and I'm from Baltimore! I love your work!
Omg! That's me in the video! Wow, I'm very inspired by you!
I love that giant Aloe plant
Thanks!

@@AaronG2480 So true!🤣😂🤣
Gracias
Saddle soap y Leather conditioner Es todo.
I just got a pair of their Chelsea boots and love them. I don’t mine the soles they come with but to each their own. I love your content and I’ll definitely be sending you my Chelsea’s when they need a resole!
We need to figure out what glue grant stone uses. I want to use it on my own repairs 😂
😂😂😂😂😂 it might be Renia, but still that’s not normal, they really gave me a hard time 😂😂😂😂 + they were nailed from the inside

The boots look better , great job amigo
Those turned out nice!
How did you keep the black polish off the stitching on the vamp?! Or did you use clear? Seriously sweet update to those Stones!
No black polish/cream is needed but only leather conditioner
Thanks

That’s why I didn’t use the white/cream ones because of what you just said
Thanks a lot.
I’m not a fan of wedge soled boots but those look good
Great job ! Why did they put a carboard/paperboard in those shoes...it's a no go for me now.
It's most likely there to prevent squeaking if I had to guess. It's not unusual for nicer footwear to have thin layers of fabric or paperboard between some of the leather layers for that purpose.
excelente trabajo!
Nice!!!!
I don't understand the insole. Is it a leather board insole with a letter foot bed just glued on top? Why would they do that?
nice job!
#25 fantastic content 👏 👌 👍
How much would this job cost on an alden indy?
I like it!
If you ever do a resole of one of these PNW brands. You better eat your Wheaties. 😊
Wheaties 😅😅👍
Donde las conseguiste tan baratas? Pasa el dato saludos 👋🏽
