HR 1185 A, a pristine reserve system with a class B at drop in, quite a few high metal content worlds, one with thargoid signals and one 21 earth mass, one with 2 'other' signals, 8 t taurii stars, and a black hole. One of those HMC worlds, the moon of another, and the moon of a ringed T Taurii orbiting the black hole are landable as of Horizons, too. Ah, time to look for some nice screenshots. My exploration Phantom, the Cygnus X-1 (props if you can spot the reference), has her work cut out in this system.

All my ships are named after songs. The Phantom started that trend and I decided to keep to it because I can look up the discography of a band I like, look through a list, and say "That one!" and have to think a bit less than if I were to come up with a name on my own. Can't say picking song names is easy when I get new ships, but I decided to stick to Cygnus X-1 for my longest range exploration ship. After all, what was the protagonist of the song doing on the Rocinante? Exploring a system a bit over 7kLy away from earth. And then ditching it into the black hole, becoming a plate of human spaghetti because physics goes crazy that close to the event horizon, and becoming a god. I also ditched both the Phantom and the Anaconda into the black hole to see how close I could get. It doesn't destroy you, you'll hit the exclusion zone about 67 km from the singularity and the heat gain of being that close to a physics-defying object with infinite density is minimal with good module choices and a bit of engineering. Wonder whose fleet carrier is parked next to the O-class, though? It seems abandoned.
Oh, and I forgot, the New and Improved™ Cygnus X-1 has 240 tons of cargo space, nearly as much as my trading Python. Because why not? What if I need to haul 1 ton of bio waste to Sag A* so I can roleplay dumping my ship's shit tank into a black hole? After all, it's not illegal dumping if you're 25.87kLy from the nearest superpower!
To be honest that whole “dav’s hope relogging corrupts your save” thing might have been due to someone being so zoned out that they accidentally reset their entire game lol
This game gets me like that. I fall asleep jumping so often it's ridiculous. Wake up at like 5am on my couch sitting next to a star lmao half the reason I never streamed this game was the fear of sleeping on stream 🤣🤣🤣
I just loaded Elite Odyssey on my PC (been away from the game for a couple of years). I noticed that Anti-Aliasing doesn't seem to work with Odyssey (graphics are horrible) and I totally forgot how much of a grind this game can be. lol
I have never gotten AA to work, ever. Supersampling is the only way I can get rid of the aliasing, which sucks in VR since my computer can't handle that.
I also returned to Odyssey about 4 weeks ago after a while and noticed just how bad the AA is. I have to run SS at 1.25x to make it playable. I used to run Horizons at 1.5x and it looked so much better.
Odyssey still looks horrible I came to the game very recently after Odyssey was out and having tested horizons I like playing horizons better than Odyssey I feel like I got ripped off almost
i know of a thing you can do to better grind high grade emissions, odyssey only i think, find a high grade emission in the appropriate system, preferably one with a lot of time left, go in, collect log out while you are still in the instance, log back in jump to super cruise and 0 the throttle and the HGE should be right behind you, and you can keep doing that for as long as there is time left. It's been a few updates since I last tried it, don't know if it's been nerfed
Indeed. I'm pretty sure I got it down to 60 seconds including the one scan, maybe just below, consistently. Gamification of the grind. Fun! Although that was in a VR sim chair with wheel and pedals.
Day number three hundred and fifty-twelve of shilling for a Krait phantom build... I know you're an Ass-Pecs purist.. But instead of, or maybe after witchhead 2 Why not go with witchhead 3 (or 4, I forget where you're at on the other account. Lol) and do a Krait phantom explorer build? Not just because it's got the slightly better jump range engineered.. That's small beans compared to the other benefits. Changing things up a bit. I was a long time AspX guy myself, and I still have the old polygon.. But the phantom is just more fun to fly. With fully engineered thrusters, it's like a ballerina with a rocket up her ass. Faster than hell, massive boost, and just ungodly maneuverable. Plus it's better looking. A lot more capacity for modules, and multiple slots for bigger modules too. Greater carrying capacity for more SRVs, bigger and better AFMUs, even some hull limpets while still being able to carry your 6 sized fuel scoop and a pretty respectable shield, to cushion some of those kamikaze landings.. One of the most beautiful cockpits in the game, with just as much visibility as the asp. And last but not least.. That nearly orgasmic engine sound.. That turbo wastegate like noise when you hit the boost.. Oh man I'm gonna need a break just thinking about it. Now I know you're not gonna do it, cause you love that asp like life itself. Lol but it's still worth the try for me to make my pitch. I've said my peice. At the end of the day you gotta play the game the way you wanna play it. But I bet after doing the asp every other time so far, you'd secretly love changing things up and keeping it fresh with a phantom. I also think Commander Sebastopol Grift and his smug JFK looking self would look really good in the cockpit of a phantom. Peace my friend, and as always, excellent content.
i have tried davs hope once or twice but i get bored real fast, when i want manufactured materials, i take cargo missions that pay around a million, go to the nav beacon in the system im going to look for high grade emissions that i will usually find, i will often get interdicted by npc dangerous and deadly anacondas which i blow up then take all their materials which are often grade 4s, also pick up the high grades then get paid or the missions too, it takes longer but it feels like im playing the game instead of doing the same thing over and over
AFAIK frontier allowed some people to change their commnder names in some situations in the past. I would email their support about it and try to rename You current PC account. I reached to them on multiple occasions and they always responded to me fairly quickly
This happened to me after not playing for a year or so, too. Come back and Vehicle bays are empty. No fire groups. Pips reset, ect. Idk if graphics are different somehow, or if I jus got so used to Star Citizens crazy good graphics that it jus looks shitty to me now lol but Davs has def changed that's why I'm here. Same thing happened to me too, land, and SRV bay is empty I had to hit a carrier to resupply it.
i have pretty good graphics in Odyssey. You have to set it up properly. i have got SC installed, good graphics, but STILL too buggy. btw I have a good system !
@@aragorn4242 I do too I'm playing on a RTX 30/ Ryzen 9 5k depending which system in on. Desktop is a 3080ti my laptop is a 3080. Both have insanely good graphics tho. It's a texture thing for me I think, being stuck on SC so long.
Still can't fly a Vette or any large ship near a combat zone without the game lagging out to be unplayable. A year and they still haven't fixed the frames or gameplay for combat zones... Even with a 3080 and 32G combat zones destroy my pc
What's your CPU? Odyssey makes a lot of draw calls so a good CPU makes a huge difference. If you max out graphics settings, it probably also sometime max out your GPU's VRAM. I got 3080 12GB and during any landing on a planet, it uses 9,8GB VRAM (I got 1080p monitor and play in 1620p with DLDSR to make the aliasing less visible).
@@lovvermann If you lower some settings, you can have constant 144FPS, but I love taking screenshots and this wouldn't really do. My Ryzen 5800X is enough too.
I wonder if Frontier is planning another Elite game. Maybe they could fix some of the issues. Odyssey is cool IMO, but the launch was a disaster. Just like many recent games.
What is that math? A view counts as watching for a few seconds (I think 10?) Or finishing the video. 36 views can easily be reached and the creator also counts as views.

I took a trip out to Cygnus X-1 and flew by it while listening to the Rush song. It’s one of my favorite things I’ve done in this game.

They cant transfer the socials, friends list and squadrons because different people on different platforms and the names will be different as well

There are a few of the anti alias settings. That’s where the issue is. I found that out the hard way in VR.
None of them work. FXAA is the only one that actually does anything but barely noticeable. Supersampling is only effective tool against the jaggies.

No probs here , i have 3060 12Gb 32 GB Ram and cpu I9-9900K at 5.5 Ghz and 1080p 144FPS and i have 144FPS with all game stresses
